Need some answers/advice

Hi. I am a 49 y.o. female. Short in stature, about 5' tall. Have been able to maintain @ about 107.8-108 lbs. I've noticed over the last 2 weeks a gradual increase in my weight. Today I am up again to 109.4 which is about a good 1lb gain. I am stumped. I havent done anything different at all in terms of diet and exercise. I work out everyday, lift weights 3x a week and cardio 5x a week. I do know that my periods have started getting irregular. The last one I had was actually on time for a change and I had it for more than a week!  I attribute that to perimenopause.

If I go by my tracking calendar, it shows I got my period almost 4 weeks ago. Could this be pms even tho my last period lasted more than 7 days?? And if it is PMS why all of a sudden am I having these weight gainingissues? I never used to. I would appreciate anyone's thougths or advice on this, as it's really annoying the daylights out of me.

Maybe I should just throw the damn scale out! Thanks

No, I dont have any symptoms that would indicate hypothyroidism.   I am just hoping it's PMS.

Your irregular periods could be from perimenopause; it's also possible that you are hypothyroid, which can cause both the weight gain and irregular periods.  If you have any other symptoms of hypothyroidism, you might want to get your thyroid levels checked.
