Thanks you guys. I appreciate your support. I'm feeling better. Just had a day Friday. Today is a new day and the sun is shining. And whatever happens with the job, I'll deal with it.
TrudieC - sorry to hear about your job. I hope a better one is right around the corner!
Well, at least it looks like I'm at the front of the "undertall" line for the big bucks - I just wanna know when I get them!!.
Seriously, it looks to me like we have a whole community of "undertall" people, but I seem to be one of the shortest - THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE. I just know that I'm a tall person trying to get out of this short body!!
PMoon - we all understand where you are at and there's no way we downplay the problem - a person who I respect most highly, told me not long ago "if you don't laugh at some of the things that happen, you will go crazy". My goal is to NOT go crazy so I do my best to find humor in most situations - including my weight.
We're here with you and some of us are going through the same thing so we definitely understand. (hugs)
I hope you're feeling a little more positive. I was laid off Nov. 30 and have been going through the emotional eating, etc. but am seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Oh, and I'm another shorty at 5' 3" with over 50 lbs. to lose. Some days I feel that stretching to make me taller would be beneficial :)
Can't tell you - feel like I might be fired any day! Get in line behind Barb.
PMoon, we sure hope you're feeling better, but not TOO much better because you don't want ME out of a job!!! Kind of a fine line I'm walkin'.
PMoon.....I'm 5'3" and shrinking by the day so consider myself an emergency "undertall" with lots more than 15 to lose.....LOL!
Hang in there....health care is a good field with all us aging baby boomers. Try not to take the rejection letters personally....so many are out there looking. Give it some time.....and don't give up on yourself.
BTW....if there are any big bucks......where do I sign up????
Hey twehner5 - where, what big bucks?? I want some tooo!! waaaaaa.
PMoon............ I'm only 5' tall and have a lot more to lose than 15 pounds - only I've decided that I'm not "fat", I'm just "undertall". Now since you are an analyst, it's your job to figure out we are supposed to get taller while we wait to get thinner????? lol
Seriously, your job sounds very interesting and it seems that normally the nice people are not the ones in power. I know what you mean about people getting to you - I have a few that do that too. Take one step at a time and don't let anyone deter you from your goal.
Hang with us - we'll all get there together.
That's what they pay us the big bucks for!!!
I like what you said - yes, I will emerge stronger for the next storm. Just having trouble with the stress. But it is self defeating. I need to remind myself of my goals everytime I feel the urge to polish off an entire cake.
My goal is to be healthy and be all I can be, not split my pants out.
Barb135 - I'm a contract analyst (healthcare). It's an interesting job, just the toxic people I work with get to me. But there are a lot of nice people too (just not the people in power.)I'll try to concentrate on what I do have. And I should be thankful I don't have a great deal of lbs to lose, just 15. I'm just short - 5 ft tall. And every 5 lbs I gain means a size higher in pants. Can't fit into many of my clothes and as we all know - that is a horrible feeling.
Thanks guys. Just needed to hear a friendly voice!!!
I
I don't have any "inspirational" words, but there's plenty of support here.
I agree that things are tough and apparently no job is safe these days. Hopefully, that will get better soon, but in the meantime we have to "grin and bear it".
I've seen you post a couple of times, but don't know much about you. What kind of work do you do? How much weight are you trying to lose? What types of things have you done so far to keep your eating in check?
We'll do whatever we can to help out.
Oh, PMoon, you CAN stay on track! Emotional eating only feels good for the moment, BUT healthy eating has lasting effects. Not only will it benefit your health, but you will feel good about overcoming your emotional urge. YOU WILL EMERGE STRONGER FOR THE NEXT STORM!
Hang in there. Sometimes, if you can just distract yourself during the actual urge to eat, then you find it loses some of it's umph. CLAW YOUR WAY UP! If you HAVE to eat, make it something healthy and tell yourself YOU DID GOOD!!!
