Weight loss is mostly training your brain to have proportion control. Look at the packaging of products and pay attention to calories versus fat versus fiber intake. If it is high in fiber and low in calories/fat it isn't that bad for you. Then learn to eat like you are feeding a child.

What I mean by that is look at your plate and think would I give this much to a 8 year old child?? If it is more than reduce it a little bit. A good judge is your fist, close your hand and if the portion is bigger than your hand then it is to much.

Once you have figured out how to control the eating then work on moving. That means start slow and work your way up to success. Also if you haven't done it yet start a weight tracker and watch the weight come off. When you have to put your weight in every week it really makes you think twice about eating something bad.

Oh yeah and last tip from me HAVE FUN!!! Don't make it work, make losing weight fun that way you will stick with it.

Well it would help to know what your plans are to help yourself lose weight. Other then that I would suggest eating only organic foods as there are ALOT of harmful hormones in other foods, especially meats and those can cause you to gain/be unable to lose weight. Watch what you eat, make a journal of everything that you put into your mouth. Stop eating at restuarants. If you absolutely have to (for special occasions) look for the vegatarian menu, the food there will not contain nearly as many calories as the other stuff. When me and my boyfriend go out I usually just get a salad with some chicken. Trust me it will help. If you get hungry around bed time, eat a banana or other fruit, nothing high in sugar or complex carbs though. If you work out the banana will help you with cramps in your muscles and you'll be able to sleep better.

Replace everything you drink with water. If you want to drink something else such as milk, juice do it earlier in the day, typically not after 6p.m. Water is the only drink without calories.

Have your thyriod checked to make sure that your metabolism is not too low due to a long term disease. (I have Hyptothyriod losing weight is incredibly hard for me, but I manage to.)

Invest in some work out equipment or a gym membership if you don't already have one. There is a poster at my gym that says "Showing up is half the battle" I know I enjoy seeing it everytime I walk through the door.

If you do the same amount of exercise, in the same pace, incline, or resistance you will plateu and stop losing. You will need to constantly test your body in order to continue losing weight. Switch up your routine often. The best type of work out is the full body, which is done 3x a week. However if you really enjoy being active like I do, work out as much as you want as long as your body can handle it. I work out 7 days a week for anywhere from 20 mins to 2 hours depending on how I'm feeling that day. Work out BEFORE you eat, not necessarily before breakfast, but before lunch or dinner. Do not eat too soon after you work out or too late. 30- an hour is a good peroiod of time to eat after work out. Your body needs the nutriants and will digest them more quickly after your work out to refuel your body. When eating before a work out your body spends most of its time just burning off what you just ate, not the fat you have stored up. Also working out earlier in the day will boost your metabolism for the rest of the day.

If you lack the energy to work out try a dietary suppliment that will give you energy. I haven't researched many, but I use diet pills that also boost my energy big time. I currently take Hydroxycut Max! For Women. My energy is almost endless, but if you don't need to lose ALOT of weight I wouldn't reccomend it. Hoodia is also a good one for energy, it's also an appetite suppression. However even if you aren't hungry while on it know that your body still needs food and you should eat 3 times a day, not overly large meals.

I hope this helps Pamela and good luck. If you have any questions about what I've done to lose feel free to email me ***@**** or note me here.

p.s doing this I have lost 44lbs and dropping quickly since I've started going to the gym.
