SMOKING AND DRINKING AFTER WORKING OUT. IS IT BAD?

by reau, Apr 05, 2009 02:24AM
AFTER I WORK OUT, MY BUDDY AND I HANG OUT AND
DRINK BEER AND SMOKE AT LEAST 3X A WEEK. IS IT BAD? I MEAN, NOTHING IN THIS
WORLD IS BAD UNLESS YOU ABUSE IT RIGHT?

Smoking is BAD for you no matter how little you do it.

Alcohol is a lot of empty calories.  Although some experts even recommend "1" drink per day, almost all will say that more than 2 is not good for you.  However, depending on how many beers you are drinking, you are probably undoing the work you did at the gym.

Abuse is not necessary for either one to be bad for you.

Trust me, I've been there.

smoking & drinking alcohol after a workout seems kinda counterproductive and defeats the purpose of the workout... at least, to me it would seem that way.

Take it from me.....smoking is never ever good.  Fought really hard I did to kick that one.  Drinking....not so hard for me.  I might have three drinks a year, if the year has been good.  ; )  And definitely not all at one time, one per sitting.  ; )  That's not really fair as a general guideline though, in all honesty alcohol does not settle right with my medications, so I generally avoid it.
