Still TRYING to loose weight!

I GIVE UP... I'm a 50 y/o female that is in the throlls of peri-MenoPause and although I've Been WALKING 3 miles a day... riding my bike... riding my horse...watching What I eat.. (and.. of note:  I've always been a pretty healthy eater.. I don't eat red meat...although,,, I like cheese..and.. I have always considered myself a healthy person.. always a little bit on the thin side... 115 has been a good weight for my size and frame) BUT.. I CANT seem to get back down to my Purr fect weight.... I currently weigh 135 pounds and at a 5'4" frame.. I FEEL fat!  (my clothes don't fit)

Any suggestions or ideas on WHAT IN THE HECK IS GOING on with me is appreciated!

Well...first and foremost...do you keep track of your calories?
secondly...your rut could be hormonal.

I would suggest that you try the food diary here on med help -- enter everything you put into your mouth on a daily basis.  It could help identify things you are eating that might not be as good for you as you think.  Or maybe you are just eating more than you think.  

You need a good balance of lean protein, low/no fat dairy, whole grains/nuts/seeds, fruits/veggies, "good" fats, etc.

Also try the exercise tracker - where you enter the exercise you got during the day.  Sometimes, we think we are doing more than we really are.......

AND I can't go without saying that maybe it would be a good idea to talk to your doctor about getting your thyroid checked, as thyroid issues can cause weight gain or prevent weight loss.  I have hypothyroidism and didn't realize it until I'd worked to lose weight for almost a year with no luck at all --- how frustrating is THAT??
