I am a 20 year old female and I have noticed that my hips have gotten significantly wider within the last couple of months. Jeans that used to fit me are tight now. My butt has also grown a bit. I haven't gained that much weight but it feels like it because of how big my hips have gotten! And the widest part of my hips is still bony! Could I be just finishing up puberty and getting a more "womanly" shape? I look at pictures of myself from a year ago and my hips were noticeably straighter.
