Today is the letter A ...

Pick an exercise, a fruit, a vegetable, or a motivation quote that begins with the letter B ... and tell us all a little about it!  

Yep ... you guessed it .. we'll be working our way through the alphabet and changing it up a bit with shapes and colors as we go!

Anyone interested in taking over this part of the daily posting ... speak up!   We need to get involved and would LOVE to see EVERYONE doing something!!!

The letter B is for Believe!  Believe in yourself and what you can do.  BELIEVE ....

"B" is for banana.  When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around.

My B is for beginning, we need to begin in order to move on
Beginning Today...

I will no longer worry about yesterday.
It is in the past and the past will never change.
Only I can change by choosing to do so.

I will no longer worry about tomorrow.
Tomorrow will always be there,
waiting for me to make the most of it.
But I cannot make the most of tomorrow without first making the most of today.

I will look in the mirror and
I will see a person worthy of my respect and admiration.
This capable person looking back at me
is someone I enjoy spending time with
and someone I would like to get to know better.

My "B" is for broccoli --- info on broccoli from Whole Foods:

"Broccoli is a member of the cabbage family, and is closely related to cauliflower. Its cultivation originated in Italy. Broccolo, its Italian name, means "cabbage sprout." Because of its different components, broccoli provides a range of tastes and textures, from soft and flowery (the floret) to fibrous and crunchy (the stem and stalk). Do not let the smell of the sulfur compounds that are released while cooking keep you away from this highly nutritious vegetable. "

Broccoli is chock full of vitamins and minerals, with the most prevalent being vitamins C, K, and A.  

Caution: don't eat raw broccoli if you take thyroid med(s) as it inhibits absorption of the med.

B - Is For Back

I didn't realize until this past week that all the back exercises I've been doing for the last 6 months really work. I raked leaves for 6 hours this week and thought for sure I would barley be able to move after the first day but to my surprise I was able to get out of bed without complaint (and two Motrin) after both days. My posture is better and my back is barely ever sore any more. I'm sure my weight loss has helped but I know that these exercises are helping tremendously. I can feel the muscles in my back. I feel so strong!

B is for Beautiful.

We are all beautiful.  We are working to lose weight so that we are healthier and live longer lives.  This does not mean we don't have beauty now.  Learn to appreciate your inner and outer beauty.  As you go through your weight loss journey continue to love your body as it is now and enjoy the power you have to improve it.  Don't hate your body - it has brought you through so much.  Love the curves, the dimples, the bulges.  They are a part of you and you are beautiful.  By loving it you will take more care of it and help it along better towards getting healthier.

Tigerlilly, please share your back exercises!  Mine is so weak and I'd love to get it stronger!  Such wonderful posts people!
