Trainer

So I signed up to have a trainer.  All I could swing money wise was once a month.  I get three free sessions though.  Worked on abs and legs today.  Boy my legs are shaky!!!  Hoping to see some more results with a structured gym workout.  I am so determined to meet my goal it was worth the money.  I would of signed up for more if I could of afforded.  Why does it cost so much money to get healthy?  The food is more expensive and the gym/trainers are expensive.  CRAZY!!!!

Still I figure it is worth the money to spend to get there right!  Go again on Friday to start with my trainer.  Her name is Arissa.  I am sure I will end up hating that name lol.

Congrats on hitting that 10 pound goal!  That is so awesome!

I have a membership at the local rec center, but they do not offer trainers.  I was driving by this other center and they have a deal where you get your first three sessions with the trainer for $60.  When I can I think that I will do what Ranae mentioned and spread those visits out getting a program that I can follow at the rec center in between.

Awesome thoughts on trainers everyone!  I'll have to let you know when I am able to get one myself in the next few months...but for now, to plug away at that rec center!  ; )

Well I have hit my 10 pounds weight loss goal.  I wanted to accomplish it this week.  I am actually enjoying myself this time around because I am not starving myself and I am going to the gym on a regular basis.

I am going to talk to Arissa to get a couple of exercise plans since I will only meet with her once a month.  I will see here Friday and then again on Monday and then it goes to once a month.  Losing inches too!!!  I really feel like I can do it this time around and stick to it.  Please hold me accountable. LOL.

Wow - now I'm jealous.  LOL.  I've always wondered what it would be like to have a personal trainer.  I've been thinking of joining a gym as there's one that we can get because of where we work for a reasonable monthly fee, but I believe it's extra to get a trainer.  I think we are entitled though to have a session in which the trainer does measurements and comes up with a routine.  My problem is whether or not I can find time to go to a gym - I get up at 3:30 am to get ready for work, get home around 3:00 pm, have housework, laundry, yard work, dinner to cook, etc, as well as try to work in exercise time.  At least exercising at home, I can load the washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc and let them run while I work out.  Anyway, thought about it just to try to jump start things a bit - will be interested in hearing how it works out for you.

Congratulations and how wonderful for you!!!    My personal trainer was Beth and I LOVED her!!!

May I make a suggestion?  Have your trainer show you a full training routine during your session .. and then over your next visits do not use the trainer .. do the routine yourself.  Have them write it down ... what machines, how many reps, how many sets, etc.  Then .. when you're comfortable with that and you have learned all that .. then ask for another complete full training routine.  This will help you get comfortable with your routines and learn what you are doing by repetition .. and spread a little distance between the visits.  It really is kind of a win-win situation that way.  They teach you and the correct position to perform the exercise .. then you do them until you have it .. and then learn some more.

Trainers are nice to have to encourage you .. but you can do this and make the best use of their knowledge and the money you are spending at the same time.

As for the $ .. yes, it costs more to be healthy in food and gym .. but definitely much less than meds and the cost of your health.

Best wishes .. and again .. Congratulations on your steadfast determination.  YOU are making it happen and you should be very very proud of your efforts and where it is taking you!!!

Much support ..
((Hugs))

That is awesome.  I have a friend who loves his personal trainer.  So does the trainer really push you beyond where you'd go with your workout?

I need to be budget conscious for the next few months or so, but I do hope to someday at least join a real gym.  I agree that investing in yourself is one of the more sounds things you can do with your money.  For me that means cutting back my hours, but hopefully that is short term.

Let us know what it's like working with a trainer.  I've always had interest because I can be competitive and I think a trainer would bring that side out more.
