What STEPS are YOU Taking?

Sometimes as we are working towards losing weight our journey seems to be a little more difficult than we think we can do.  Our frustration level mounts and we are in danger of discouragement setting in.

PLEASE, DO NOT GIVE IN!

This Community has been through the ups and downs of weight loss and can share their experiences, knowledge and tips on how to tackle the tough times.  They offer support, friendship and encouragement in a caring way and are here for you.

What must you do if you are struggling?  YOU must have the COURAGE to speak and share what you are feeling.  This is a safe environment and most all of us have felt this at some point and have devised ways to cope and make it through, despite a few small setbacks from time to time, which is normal when changing life long learned behaviors.

The TRUTH IS – if you keep putting one foot in front of the other, grab support here, and are willing to BELIEVE in tackling each day anew – you CAN ACHIEVE your goals!

The most powerful thing we have is our own will to make the choice to stay here and keep working together to succeed in our individual goals – together as a cohesive team – or to “choose” to quit trying.

WHAT STEPS ARE YOU TAKING???

“The vision must be followed by the venture.  It is not enough to stare up the STEPS – WE MUST STEP UP THE STAIRS.”  Vance Havner

Throughout the centuries there were men who took first STEPS, down new roads, armed with nothing but their own vision.”  Ayn Rand

Thanks Ranae for the uplifting post!  One step at a time....one after the other is the way to finish the race.  ; )

Today I made myself eat breakfast...sounds weird I know, but a particularly bad downfall for me.  Home made wheat toast, one slice cut in half, and one boiled egg.  Very good for me I must say.  Then I took the mini dobie for a 2 mile walk.  A little brisk outside, but very nice I must say.  And got some of that extra energy burned off of the doggie too....I swear, there is something about that breed that is FULL of energy!  Maybe he's been nipping in the sugar bowl perhaps?  *Just teasing*  From what I hear it is normal for their breed, but he makes me tired just watching him run around sometimes.  LOL!

Good going lucinda - I learned to eat breakfast about a year ago (never did before that) and now I don't dare leave the house without it or my tummy starts growling like crazy.  Have you ever watched "The Dog Whisperer" - I've seen several episodes with "min pins" and it seems they are always bouncing off the walls.  Good excuse for you to get that LONG walk every day to run off his energy.

As for myself - I, too, am trying to take one step at a time.  I'm making headway.  Mostly my exercise at this point is walking because I do so much of it at work, plus, *I* have 2 dogs to walk every day.  I am trying to fit in a few other simple exercises throughout the day, if I can get someplace where I'm not right out in the open - looks kind of silly walking across a school campus doing exercises!!

Have you looked in the mirror lately???  You DO look kind of silly!

Actually, good for you - sneaking in exercise throughout the day *in addition to* all the walking you already do!  Go, girl!

I thought I was the only one who wasn't/isn't a breakfast eater!  When I first began this weight loss journey (2 1/2 years ago), I knew that breakfast had to be an every day thing.  For one thing, I was exercising first thing in the morning and I had to rev up my metabolism if that walk was going to do any good.

While I don't wake up hungry and I STILL have to *remember* to eat, on the very rare occasion that I DO forget, my stomach is growling so loud that TuTu Boy could probably hear it!  I think that's one of the most positive changes I made - and the fact that I eat a healthy breakfast (LF yogurt typically).  Before, I was ONLY interested in breakfast if it was sweet (leftover cake, donuts, etc.).

That's just one of the steps.  The other major one is having increased my activity level from maybe 10 walks/year (!) to vigorous activity 4-6 times/week!  I can't believe how much I have changed!

OMG - have you SEEN me looking silly on campus??  I thought that "toe touch" was so well disguised as "picking up trash" AND I thought you lived seat least 1000 miles from me.  Where DID I go wrong??

Oh NO, everyone be careful -- she has satellite vision----------- Panic time!!  Now I have to really get busy or she will know every time I slack (or did I mean s(n)ack?)!!

Wow - my motivation just skyrocketed!!

Hmmm .. what other talents do you have .. x-ray vision, leaps tall buildings at a single bound .. perhaps time travel!  Hey Barb .. perhaps I need to hide with you .. lolll

Well .. here is the quiz Miss Twehner .. what was I doin out in the yard today .. lollll  ***I think I disguised it as cleaning out the garage*** ha haa ha

My motivation always skyrockets around you three!  And yes, Miss Lucinda .. that dog is either going to be your saving grace or work you till you drop!  Still have visions of you running down the street .. hmmm .. was it in a nightgown???  ***bad girl, Ranae .. bad girl***  ;)

I'm just not sure what to do anymore Ranae - you're welcome to come hide out with me (at least it's warm here).  I'm just not sure about twehner though - first she looked at my computer and accused ME of stealing HER answers, now she sees me exercising and all.  And yes, I'm sure she saw you with that garbage - probably thought you were lifting weights or something. *I* think SHE needs to go to the corner - with blindfold on.   lol

In all seriousness - gotta love twehner for the motivation she tosses out there!!  It's always easier to keep going when we can have some fun and get a few laughs!!  All work and no play makes Barb a dull girl!!

FYI, I DID see you Ranae...'cause

Every Mooove you make, Every snack you take
Every post you fake, every cake you bake,
I'll be watchin' you!

But, did you see ME yesterday?  NOPE, 'cause I went to bed with the chickens!
Goin' to step class, I HOPE this morning, and ready for another day of envisioning our favorint TuTu Boy.

That Barb---shady character---you might NOT want to hide out with her!  She THINKS she's disguising stretches out on the school yard.  I think she's auditioning for the NEXT high school musical  LOL!!!

Obviously - you've NEVER seen me anywhere when there was music on, have you!!  I am about as UNmusical as anyone could get!!  Only part I'd get in THAT musical would be the clown and I've already said "This chick ain't wearin' no clown suit"!!

Come on Ranae - you can teach me to dance!!  lol
