What could have happened

Yesterday i continued to be good -  no junk food, smaller portions -  calories were below 1200 and to top it off I included 4 fruits in my diet - i am not a fruit person so it was hard work to do it - but it is part of my getting healthier and fitter plan so it had to be done....
...then  today I wake up and am 1.2lb heavier and 1" extra around my belly.

Is this fluid retention -  isit because of the fruit

if its round you belly it does sound more like fluid to me, you know it takes a couple of days to catch up, and you have also been introducing more exercices, i to your routine,
Try not to worry to much you have done a great job

Don't forget: it's also possible that you had undigested food in your stomach yet.  There are so many variables when it comes to weighing daily, that we can't really get too upset over a gain from one day to the next. It's the overall picture that really counts.

Apples, grapes and oranges all have a lot of water; and if you are drinking a lot of plain water, that could account.  If you don't like fruits, you can stick mostly to veggies; although they, too, can have quite a bit of water, they also have a lot of fiber.

I am a daily weigher always have been -  its the only way I can keep sain -  yep the downside is days like this when the scales and my body don't play nice... but I feel in control of my journey with daily weighing.

I know I am eating the right amount -  most days my calories are between 1500 and 1700 and twice a week I go down to 1000-1200.

I ate apple, banana, grapes and oranges.

Today I have been weeing for England so I am hopeful for a drop again tomorrow lol

Probably should be eating a bit more. The average calories should be no less then 1200. Depending on what type of fruit you ate (like watermelon) its filled with water...and therefore can lead to fluid retention. Best bet...weigh yourself once a week on the same day in the morning. I gain water weight after I eat something with high content of salt.
