I find being on Synthroid has sluggished my metabolism even though I'm more hyper than ever in my life -- and the funny thing for me is that I have less of an appetite since being on Synthroid than when my thyroid made its own hormones LOL and I have to remind myself to eat sometimes!

TSH 1.8
partial thyroidectomy 1/07
I am not even theraputic yet on my levothyroixine Last TSH 6.8
I have been just trying to eat balanced from all the food groups and do something, anything extra for a few minutes each day.
Lately it has been biking, but soon the weather will turn so I will be inside.
Dont be frustrated with the weight gain and loss. I could gain like 5 pounds over night. We just need to be determined to do this.
Stick around here, youll find lots of support and hugs.

Good to know that others have the same problem.
Are there certain exercises you like or are partial to? Would suggest you try a variety of exercises and find several that you like. Perhaps you might consider starting your exercise tracker and then look down the list of all the possibilities. Pick one and try it and the next day you may want to pick something else. The key is in finding things you like to do and in variety. Would also suggest cardio, strength training and stretching.
Personally, I am partial to swimming, walking, bicycling, aerobics, dance workouts and pilates. If you need some help with some specific exercise instructions, we can help you there as well. Perhaps you might consider joining us in our challenges here and definitely think you would enjoy the Thyroid Disorders Community.
Best wishes .. and hope to hear from you soon ..

In addition, keep changing your exercise, mix it up so there is no routine as to what you are doing ... walk one day, aerobics the next, swim the next, bike the next, back to aerobics .. in mixing it up your body stays in a state of muscle confusion and the exercise is most efficient then.
Sorry, can't recommend any pills other than a good vitamin. Just stay the course, Barb and if you need any help figuring out the calories you need a day, just let me know. Do you journal your food?
Please let us know how you are doing .. and remember, there are normal weight fluctuations .. the proper movement downward will occur when we stay engaged and steady.
(((Hugs))) ... YOU CAN DO THIS Kiddo!!!
