You can get free birth control pills from your local health department.

Birth control often doesn't help PCOS.  Many people have better luck when they're treated with Metformin than they do with birth control.  I'm shocked that your doctor didn't start you on it and some pharmacies provide that for free, under some circumstances.

Diet is very important because PCOS is related to blood glucose issues and keeping blood glucose steady is very important.  When you eat food that increases blood glucose your pancreas produces large amounts of insulin, which is often called the "fat storage" hormone.  Whatever food that increases your blood glucose levels and isn't used for immediate energy is shuttled, by insulin right into fat cells to be stored for later use.  The more often this happens, the fat we have stored and the harder it is to get rid of it.

Bread, pizza, pancakes, white rice, white potatoes, all increase your blood glucose levels quickly, so if you don't used that sugar immediately, it will be stored as fat.  The constant spikes in insulin levels eventually cause the pancreas to wear down so it can't produce enough insulin or the body can't use it right and we end up with type II diabetes.

I've lost about 20 lbs by cutting out most of the bread products from my diet and replacing it with about a tablespoon of healthy fat (butter, coconut oil, avocado, peanut butter, etc) at each meal.  The fat makes me feel more satisfied so I don't eat as much, plus I don't get hungry nearly as quickly.  Also make sure you get plenty of lean protein.

I can understand that green tea gets a bit tiresome after a while... you can try varying the flavor by adding lemon to it or a little bit of coconut oil.

It does make a big difference that you PCOS.  Are you being treated for that?  If so, what's the treatment?  Many people are treated with Metformin, which often helps with weight loss. You could talk to your doctor, but your diet is very important.

It's especially important that you not eat sugary or other things that increase your blood glucose levels quickly.  That includes things like fruit, breads, pizza, pasta, white rice, etc.  You should eat a lot of veggies, lean meats, eggs, dairy, nuts, seeds, beans and healthy fats... all things that will keep your blood glucose levels even.
