how to reduce weight?

hi,I want to reduce weight.I donot know how much correct amount of food must be taken, and how much water should be drunk? how should be the daily way of eating habbits so as to reduce weight.

hi, thank you for rendering a helping hand.My actual weight now is 150 pds which is overweight with respect to my height which is 5ft4in.
My aim is to reduce my weight to 130 pds.
Since my work is usually sitting I hardly get time for regular excersise.But now-a-days I have started going for walk at night or whenever I get time.So i feel my diet must be suitable according to my work and physique.
Please refer me what type of food must be intaken, in what quantity and how much.Also at what time.
