Absolutely, on the exercise! I realized when I read my post that I didn't type all that I was thinking LOL! I exercise at least 30 minutes a day, and mix it up with 15 minutes a day of really pushing it fast in order to keep my body guessing.
And absolutely get your parents involved... they need to know what your heart is feeling.
You CAN make healthier choices without going down the "starve it off road". You never want to go without food. Your body will just hold onto the weight. HTH!
Hi - first you need to be realistic because 2 months is not a lot of time. Second - sit down and seriously ask your parents for support and help. Third - talk to the school nurse if you have one - if not - talk to an adult that you respect and admire - like a teacher and aunt or uncle - someone who will give you support. You will be amazed how helpful and loving people can be. If possible, have them take you to a doctor so that you can have medical assistance. Then - get off your butt. Its very easy to sit at the computer all day--and snack while you are sitting there. If you really want this - you can do it. I agree with the others - no pop - period. No salty or sweet snacks. Have your 3 meals a day - breakfast with oatmeal and fresh fruit, or egg with side of yogurt and fruit;; lunch and supper with veggies and low fat meat like chicken breast or seafood, always have salad at lunch and supper. I realize this might be tough if your family doesn't provide you with this food, so you really need to ask them for help. The thing is - you are 16 - soon you will be an 'adult' - and if there is one thing I have discovered in all my years - when it comes down to the crunch - its all up to you. Try and exercise everyday even if its just going for a walk after supper - if you have a dog, all the better - take a ball and have a ball. My heart goes out to you girl - asking for help here is excellent - find someone in your daily life who can support you as well.
Cutting out sodas and sports drinks (they're both loaded with sugar, just have fancy names for them) and drink good filtered/bottled water instead will make a huge difference. Anything liquid is absorbed 10 times quicker than a food that needs to break down. That's why they give someone that's in a diabetic seizure a glass of Orange Juice (liquid). Go to a site and figure your TDEE (total daily calories) with a sedentary lifestyle (no exercise at all). Take that calorie figure and subtract 500... that should be your intake if you're wanting to lose a pound a week. Any exercise (such as 500 calories burned a day) theoretically should amount to another pound loss that same week if you do both.
HTH
hey, i know what its like battling with weight as a teenager. i am 18 and going through something similar. exercise exercise and exercise.... its great. you feel brilliant and it helps burn fat and speed up your metabolism. if you can afford personal training, try that even if it is only one session, they will get you on the right track, if not just focus on cardio training. cardio is anything like running crosstraining swimming and cycling. try to go for at least twenty minutes, increasing in frequency intyensity and time and be persistant. i found crosstraining, and its my favourite machine! if the gym is too hard, go or a jog!
i hope this helped, feel free to email me at anna_quillfeldt***@**** and have fun at your prom!
