losing water weight

by Happy2girls, Feb 20, 2008 12:25PM
Okay, I went a little crazy with the sodium yesterday.  I went bed weighing one thing and woke up 2.5 pounds heavier.  Does anyone know how to lose water weight quickly (short of water pills) or at least how long it will stick with me?  My weigh-in at Weight Watchers is tomorrow and I'll be disappointed if I gain this week.  Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

Actually, just keep on as you have been doing.  It should be gone as quickly as it came in a day or two.

Coffee is a diuretic, and I've heard watermelon is, too.  You might try a cup of coffee this afternoon to see if that helps at all.

But don't be discouraged.  I can gain 5# overnight if I go to the Chinese place near here.  Its gone in a couple days on its own.

Good luck!  Let us know how it went.  Remember, even if you gain this week from water retention, keep on the program and you'll have a big loss next week.

Thanks, Peek, you were right.  I Iost the water weight overnight.  I lost another pound and have now lost over 10.  Interesting though that I haven't noticed much of a change in the way my clothing fits.  At what point did you notice a change?

Probably about 12 pounds, I really started noticing.

Good for you!  Keep at it!

Congrats with your weight loss. I agree with Peek, one day you will weigh one thing and the next. Most of the time you really shouldn't weigh yourself more than once and week and on the same scale once a week. I also didn't start noticing a diffeent in my weight until after 10lbs.  keep on losing and you will notice your weight loss soon.

Good LUck and God Bless
