Hi I've also been trying to lose weight. I started reading the labels on food packaging. Its surprising how much fat is in the foods I was buying. So I swapped to low fat alternatives. I also reduced my portion sizes and tried to eat more fruit and veg. So far I've lost 2 stone. I've got more weight to lose yet but I think that changing the way I think about food has helped in a massive way. Good luck with your weight loss

I, personally, don't believe in "diets" - I believe in implementing healthy eating habit, with moderate exercise -- things you enjoy in reasonable quantities, that you can stick with for life; not just long enough to lose the weight.
I like SouthBeach or paleolithic diet. Exercise is very important. Work out with light weights and also do weight-bearing aerobic exercise. Then you will look good.
