Bypass Surgery

I stopped smoking before I got a date for my bypass surgery.  Unfortunately for me I will have only six weeks free of cigarette smoking before my surgery.  My question is will I being doing any damage to myself if I stillhave the surgery?

The risk of surgery is higher in smokers, but six weeks is actually a pretty good interval of time to be smoke-free before surgery.  But remember, the real question is whether you will be quitting AFTER surgery - very important.  Take care and best of luck.
