Irregular heart beats

by redhorse908, Sep 12, 2009 11:11AM
I am having irregular of and on.  They seem to be associated with the amount of sugar in my diet.  I use to get them maybe once a month.  I now seem to get them every week and they are lasting longer like two to three days in a row.

I would like to get your oinion on this.  I am taking 325 mg of aspirin per day.  What else should I be doing.  Is this life threatening?  I do get really tired but am able to push thru the day.

Thanks for yoyr time and any direction you may offer...

Hi Ricky,

There are lots of different causes of palpitations (sensation of feeling your heart beating).  As a cardiologist, I see lots of people with this concern.  To determine the cause, further discussion and some simple tests are usually recommended.  It's a good idea to see your own doctor and share your symptoms to determine the next best step.  Take care.
