Weight Loss With Osteoarthritis

I need to lose 80 lbs. and have osteoarthritis. I've been on a low carb diet twice and both times the arthritis has flared and become quite painful. I think it's an excess of protein. How else can I lose weight? I can't stand being hungry and have good weight loss results with low carb. Help please!

Rather than focus on any single "macronutrient" like carbs, fat, or protein, I would really try to concentrate more on portion sizes and avoiding highly processed foods.  Maybe start by checking out my first blog post (Eat Less, Do More - Repeat) and check out www.theflexdiet.com for some fun approaches too!  I think you would benefit from starting with a good food diary to see where you can start making some small changes - I agree that you don't want to try to do this to rapidly.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I love to cook and unfortunately still cook for when there were 6 of us at home. Now there's two. I've known I need to cut down on portion sizes. I suspect that's the only way I'll be successful and more-or-less pain free.
