weight loss and topomax(topamax)

by JJB52, Sep 10, 2009 12:03PM
I was put on Topomax (topamax) to help control my Fibromyalgia pain.  I was told one of the side effects that I would have is weight loss.  For the first three months, I did not, now my weight is coming off incredibly fast.  Like 5lbs practically overnight.  In running blood tests, they are now showing that I may be diabetic and have Kidney disease, both are still inconclusive.  The symptoms to both the diabetes and kidney disease I can think back to before I went on the Topomax (topamax) and remember having.  So I don't think they started with being on Topomax (topamax).  However, maybe worsened?
I guess my main question is how fast should I be loosing weight?  Is it all the Topomax (topamax), or are the other conditions helping?
Thank you for your time

Five pounds in a day seems pretty excessive!  Have you changed your diet and activity?

It's worth discussing this with your doctor, especially in the context of your other health concerns.
