Advice to get throough THANKGIVING

by iminitnow, Nov 14, 2006 12:00AM
I`m in my second week and the third week because of Thanksgiving. The appetite surpressent is wonderful most days, but the thoughts of mashed potatoes, gravy etc. etc.............All I thought to do was drink water, water and more water. I`m limited in ounces for daily intake (14) so I can`t just eat before anyone else, or keep nibbling salad.
Anyone tell me what their plan is to get through the day?
Yes, I will have family around me and I will enjoy them thoroughly, but they will all EAT!

As you get through the future weeks, you will stop your cravings. Thanksgiving is a wonderful time for being with family. just eat only what you can and don't punish yourself if you go off your diet 1 day.  You can always start back the next day.
Just make sure to fix things that you can eat also.
I know the diet that you are on. I tried it. not for me. I limit my calories to 800 a day and save my calories for things I really want to eat. Atkins didn't agree with me.
If you don't like the food you eat, just eat only 800 - 1000 calories a day and you will still loose.
All the meds that you are taking will help you control your weight.

Let me know how you are doing!

What diet are you using. I tried South Beach and lost put phase one was really strict. I switch to something I can do for the rest of my life. I'm a little concerned with Thankgiving too but it's only one day and you don't really want to blow it for one day. Use the 4 bite rule. Four small bites if you can't resists. If not you may pig out later. Good luck to ya.

Thanks again to you both for your support. I`ll be glad when the cravings stop.
Jade, I`m  seeing Dr. Lara in Clearwater FL., and doing as he instructs. He gives B12 shots, appetite suppressants and fat burners. Lots of water (128 ounces a day, one full gallon!)and 14 oz of food per day.

Pam , did you weigh in today?

We probably eat close to the same amount. I never actually measured it like that. I just know I get 2oz protein with every meal (5) What's you favorite for thanksgiving. Never know, maybe my forum has something that fits the bill. We have a little bit of everything and we can't have too much of anything. Hang in there loosing weight isn't easy. I'm going to go workout now. Our Thankgiving dinner is tomorrow at work. I hope I do well. These women can cook!!

I think since turkey is less fattening & healthier than the side dishes & desserts ....we should start there till we r almost full & nibble about two bites of whatever else u want just to get the cravings out of the way....just a thought

I DO love turkey, so I`ll try to be satisfied with mostly that. Thanks.
