B 12 Works!!!

by Tiffygirl, Mar 15, 2007 12:00AM
Hi Guys,
I am in my 2nd week of taking the B-12 shot and I am living proof that it works.  I have lost 7lbs. in these past two weeks.  I have been able to exercise less and control my snack cravings.  I saw that a friend of mines took the shot and lost about 50 - 60lbs. so I decided to try it out.  It is great!  I can fit into things that I have not been able to fit for years.  I go to the Stem Ross Weight Loss Center in Baltimore.  For those of you who have tried everything (like myself) try B-12 before doing anything extreem.

Hi!  I live in Salisbury, MD and I didn't know if any knows of a doctor closer than the one in Greenbelt.  I am willing to drive 2 hours but if I can get one closer that is a bonus.   I exercise 4-5 times a week and try to eat under 1500 calories a day but I cannot lose the initial weight (been that way since I had 2 children).  Will the B12 injection really work?   Any advice would be awesome.

Does anyone know how much the B12 shot cost without insurance?
And I dont know where to find an area to get the shot in WV?
Any ideas on how to find one?
Thanks so much!
Good luck!

Hi, it has been exactly a week as of today, and I am 8lbs lighter! Looks like the shot and my good eating habits, and excercise is starting to pay off.

As far as I know, insurance doesn't cover b-12 and the medication that come with this weight loss program. (at least for me personally)

For a 2 month course of injections
+
1 month of meds
(1 bontril in the morning, 1 topiramate at night)
=
$269

You must renew your meds after a month, which totals at = $80

So for a 2 month treatment you're at about $349

Although it is a little costly, I must say it's worked for me! 4 weeks into the treatment i had lost 8lbs and my bmi was down to 18.5.

Good luck. I wish you the best!

I pay 70.00 every 3 weeks. That includes the b12 and Phen pills. I lost 8lbs in my first week.

Hi, am new, too.  Where do B12 injections work best?  I had a b-12 defiency (287) and was on my 3rd week of 2 per week b12 injections of 1000 mcg per injection.  I did not see anyweight loss or inch loss in that time. I received the shots in my arm (is this sub-Q?).  I just started today at a bariatric clinic with a protocol of b12/b6  (50 mcg/50mg) injections up to 5 times per week and Adipex, water pill (Dr. grabbed my ankle and said I was retaining about 3 lbs.  I didn't ask if it was in each leg:) and potassium.  When the nurse gave me the injection it was in the hip.  She said this was in the muscle and would work better.  The needle was also longer.  It hurt less than the arm, too.

So, my question is:  Did the B12 injections that I received for 3 weeks have no effect because I am deficient or because of where the injections were made?  Or, is it because you need the injections daily?

Thanks!

Does anyone out there know of a Dr. in the Westchester County, New York or Fairfield County, Connecticut area that gives B-12 shots as part of their weight loss treatments?  I don't know where to start looking for this kind of treatment.

Thank you!!!
