B12 Injections

by Sharkalopodous, Feb 14, 2008 06:20PM
How much B12 should you inject? I'm currently on Dr. Bernstein and I have 2 more weeks paid for. It's working so far, but unfortunately it's extremely expensive and way beyond my budget. I was wondering if anyone went off of the diet and bought B12 injections for themselves instead. If you did, how much did you take? I know at Dr. Bernsteins, you get a double shot 3 times a week, but I have no idea how much that is or what that means, thanks!

You pretty much have to go by the mcg/ml for a dosage and by body weight.  The place where we order online has a vial of 30 injections, with the syringes included.  Hubby only has to take 1 shot a week because it's prescription-strength (it's 1,000mg per 1cc shot).  It's really, really dark red color... which is a great indication for how you know it's more concentrated and pure B12.  I take the b12, but it's mixed with amino acids so it's more of a medium red since there's the additional stuff in there.

thanks!
I bought the 1000mcg/mL vile, so do I take 1mL (or 1cc) 3 times a week?

Just once a week if it's the 1000mcg/ml (I just looked at my previous post and I left out the "c" in the mcg.. oops LOL), at least that's what my Dr. instructs me to do since it's pharmacy strength and IS DEFINITELY 1000mcg/ml.  He won't budge on the once a week part, because hubby does it for basketball and we called to ask him if it could be taken like every 4 days and he said "no".  So my way of thinking was that if he was wanting to get rich off of it, he'd say "yes" because that means we'd run out sooner... but obviously (like I've always felt in my heart) he is an excellent Dr. and his patients' health is of utmost concern to him.
