CarolinaGirl re: HCG Injections from Old Post

by Iwant2bMaxine, Nov 04, 2005 12:00AM
CarolinaGirl,
I just saw your post from yesterday, you ordered HCG injections?

Are you in NC? or the Northern part of SC?

There is a clinic in Huntersville and Statesville, NC that offers a comprehensive diet plan, injections and appetite suppressants.

is their website.

I have been on this plan for the last 7 weeks and I am down 20lbs, so far.

Just thought you might like to know.

Thanks...saw your reference to their website last week.  I have an appointment for the end of November.  In 1996, I lost 35 pounds in 10 weeks through a clinic in Tennesse that offered HCG shots.  Kept the weight off for over 2 years.  I probably would have kept if off indefinitely but developed a thyroid condition (hypothyroidism) that caused me to gain back most of the weight.  Good luck with you program.

by Iwant2bMaxine, Nov 07, 2005 12:00AM
:-)  Good luck!

I hope it all goes well for you!  They are really very nice at the clinic.  I go again on Thursday for my 2nd WI.  I hope to be down at least 21 lbs by then for the 2 months.  Not bad really, especially since I don't feel deprived like I have on other plans.

by Nicci77, Nov 07, 2005 12:00AM
Are these the same as the B-12 shots.

by Iwant2bMaxine, Nov 08, 2005 12:00AM
Nicci - no they are not the same as B-12.  These are a chemical equivelent to the hormone the body secretes (sp) after you give birth.  The hormone that usually helps the new mother drop the weight pretty quickly.

To: Everyone in reference to the HCG shots
I am not sure if I am in the right forum or not, but I remember seeing you name CarolinaGirl. I live in Granite Falls NC and go to Dr. Girouard in Statesville. I started Tuesday the 6th of December and have weighed every Tuesday since. The Tuesday of my second injection, 12/13 I weighed and had lost 8 pounds. My third injection was Tuesday, 12/20, and I weighed and had lost a total of 20 pounds! I am also taking the appetite supressant, phentarmine (spelling?) it is the generic of Adipex. I love it. I have no problem with the diet (600-800 cals. a day),in fact I forgot to eat all day the other day (I guess am busy with Christmas coming and just didn't think about eating) and have tons more energy from the weight loss and appetite supressant. The only complaints I have is that I am constantly craving water/Fruit2O becuase of dry mouth which is a side effect of the pills. But who cares, I can chew gum or drink water all day if I need to just as long as I keep losing weight! Good luck to all. I was trying to get approved for bariatric surgery before I started this, but I believe that I can stick with this and lose it on my own.

by mome, Dec 26, 2005 12:00AM
Hi, I have a friend that is taking the injections of the HCG from a clinic in Statesville, NC.  I read somewhere these injections were offered years ago and then Doctors stopped using them for weight loss.  Why? Is there some sort of bad side effect?  How long do you have to take the injections once the weight loss goal is met?  Do most people gain their weight back after they stop the injections?  I've had a weight problem all my life.  I've lost right much on my own but still have about 25 pounds left.  I'm very interested in the injections but do not want to endanger myself.  Also, does anyone know how much money we are talking about with these injections?  Thanks for any help I can get on answering these questions.

by bdgirlnc, Dec 28, 2005 12:00AM
The shots should be used in conjunction with a healthy eating plan. I am aware of 2 places in the Charlotte NC area, Copperfield Wellness out of Concord/Kannapolis, and then the physician in Huntersville or Statesville (I think the name is Dr. Gerrard, I know I'm not spelling it right). From my understanding, both places follow a similar structure. You can use pills or shots, or both, along with their recommended eating plan. The pills (type determined by the dr.) will help suppress appetite, and the shots help you lose inches. I followed their program, and lost 30 pounds (15 in the first month). I was shocked - physically I felt, and still feel, great. For me, the biggest benefit of the shots is that combined with the dramatic weight loss, it's just incredibly motivating. I don't want anyone to think, "hey, I'll do this for a few months, lose weight, and then don't have to worry about it"....like anything, you really have to change the way you eat and think about food in general in order to keep the weight off. I have changed my eating habits - I usually start with a healthy protein based breakfast (NOT bacon and sausage), to help keep me full until lunch time. If I get hungry before that, I will eat an apple or other piece of fruit. I eat a lot of chicken and fish, and I definitely get my veggies in - but I want something high in fat or carbs, I will indulge, just in moderation!! My physician told me that you will show a false positive on a pregnancy test. HCG is found in the body when pregnant. The reasons are not knows why is helps you shrink in inches, but it is common for women to lose weight when they initially get pregnant. You do not become more fertile when taking the shots, and you DO get your period. The shots don't work for everyone, but I did notice a difference. I did my research, and I think the reason that the shots lost popularity back in the 70's was because there wasn't a lot of hard evidence of whether or not they work.  The dosage is very small, much smaller than in the cases I reviewed on the Internet, so that's why I decided to give it a try.  If you wanted to, you can always try the plan with the pills only, I think you would still have a lot of success if you follow their eating plan.  I have kept my weight off for almost a year, longer than any other "diet" which is why for me, I don't consider this a diet, it has become a way of life, and now I don't take pills or shots anymore. If you're willing to be committed to changing your lifestyle, then I definitely recommend giving either doctor a call.  I will say that Copperfield used to run about $200 for the first visit, then about $110/month if you did both shots and pills, but their prices have gone up because they are focusing on overall wellness and are now promoting vitamins.  So if price is a factor (and when isn't it) then I would inquire on Dr. G's prices first.

Hi I have heard good things about HCG injections. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get these shots. I live in bridge city texas. your help would be appreciated. thanks

I would like help with the HCG as well.  I plan on starting the program with Dr G but does anyone know how the treat patients that are on medication for high blood pressure/migraines?  Will I be prohibited from starting the program?  Thanks for your help!  I have heard very positive comments in reference to this program.  I feel confident it will work!

Does anyone know if guys and girls can get HCG injections and if so, how much does Dr. Gerrard (sp) charge per injection and how often do you get the injections? Are there any big side effects? can people with high blood pressure take HCG and adipex? thanks

by Bev06, Jan 20, 2006 12:00AM
Hey everyone!  I am seeing amazing results!  There is a MD in Morganton, Nc that has an awesome program using combinations of HCG injectons, medications, diet and exercise that anyone could do.  It is wonderful!!

by Bev06, Jan 20, 2006 12:00AM
Sorry!  I forgot to mention the wonderful doctor's name.  His name is Dr. Hussein and I guarantee you will not recieve better care or see better results anywhere else.

by EliMom, Feb 01, 2006 12:00AM
I am going to Dr. Girouard in Huntersville in 2 weeks, and I am excited!  I wanted to know from anyone who has done it, what was the average rate of weight loss?  I am hoping to lose a total of 40 pounds, which would put me close to my high school weight :)
I already go to the gym 3-4 days a week, but I have hit a plateau (after losing the extra 25 pounds baby weight) and still have 40 to go!  I was recommended to do this by someone who had a similar situation...I hope it works.
Also, I had seen a post here previously that had raised concern that hCG might be linked to cancer.  The only link that I am aware of is that it helps PREVENT breast cancer, and I couldn't find any other negative information.
Speaking of concerns, does anyone have info on possible side affects of the pills?
Thanks for any help!

by fit4life, Feb 01, 2006 12:00AM
I called the office in Huntersville and Statesville, NC. The only give you 1 shot per week. 35 units per shot. I was going to a clinic in Florida. We had to take 5 shots per week. 125 units per shot. I told the nurse in Florida about the NC clinic doing one shot per week at 35 units. She was shocked to hear that people were losing weight with so little hcg in their system. I went to the clinic in florida and lost 25 lbs in 5 weeks. HCG definitely works.

by Tuffieanne, Feb 12, 2006 12:00AM
ALL OF YOU should call Native Healing Ways in LaVergne, Tennessee.  Ask for Brenda, tell her Kathy in Texas told you about her clinic.

by BLA, Feb 13, 2006 12:00AM
Just wondering what the most effective dosage of hcg was? I hear of people taking 35IU to 125IU, and it ranges from once a week to five times a week. Thanks for any help!!!

I have recently started the HCG/b12 weight loss shots.  So far I am really liking them, but I was wondering if moodiness has effected anyone else???  I haven't gone in for my second injection yet, but was wondering how long, if this is normal, the moodiness will last.  I walk 30 minutes a day and try to watch my calories.  I heard that exercise could help.  If anyone has any suggestions about diet plans or exercise tips please let me know.  I am really trying to loose about 70-80 pounds so any help would be appreciated.

by LissaBoo, Feb 26, 2006 12:00AM
How much overweight do you have to be for me to visit the clinic in Statesville?  I have about 25 to 35 lbs I still need to lose.

Can you please email me your list of acceptable foods.  I am doing the shots/Adipex and all the doctor said was to eat what I usually do but less of it.  I had done the low carb diet before I got pregnant with my second child and had done quite well.  I had lost 56 pounds in 7 1/2 months.  My daughter is 7 months old now.  I tried the Atkins diet again but for some reason it didn't work nearly as well as the first time. I just went to the doctor again today and I have lost 13 pounds. (See my post at the top of forum called Weight Loss Update) My email is ***@**** if you would please email me your food list.  Thank You

i too have an appt with dr G on monday 3/12...i am also 5'3 and have struggled with my weight since the birth of my daughter in 03...i gained 80 lbs with my son in 2000 and got EVERY bit of it off in 9 months...totally different story with my daughter...i only (can you believe i said only)gained 40lbs but now weigh MORE than what i did when i got pregnant with her...now i am not stupid, i know that i am older (31) so it is going to be harder, i just had no idea how hard it would be...and to be COMPLETELY honest, i havent tried as hard the second time around..i have decided to keep the clinic a secret from my family and friends....i will post after my appt monday to let you know what to expect...i will be honest, i am a little nervous...i have read that one side effect is an increase in the possibility of multiple births...my husband would die ;o)

well, i just got back from dr g's office and i am full of hope...my friend and i went and did the entire thing together, from the video, talking to dr g, and then the shots...it was actually a very fun experience....i found out i weigh a LOT more than i had hoped (darn that reality!!)...the diet does seem a little harsh but i am determined to do this...the dr is super nice...the office was really crowded and i did have to wait a good amount of time but overall the experience was awesome....i have to say i hated the little skinny nurse having to grab my (very abundant) fat and stick me with the needle...i was so hoping for a chubby nurse who could at least feel my pain ;o)  i got the shot, start the pills (i opted for the higher dose) and diet tomorrow....the information packet they gave me was very informative (all i can say is no wonder i am fat)...i have 10 wks until my cancun trip...dr g said he has given 2 shots per week for people that have a goal like a cruise/wedding in the near future...i decided to only do the one shot...i didnt want to get too dependent on two shots a week....let me know how your appt goes...i think you said you go thurs?  keep me posted....good luck!!!

I keep hearing everyone talking about a weight loss clinic in Concord, NC that gives the HCG injections, does anyone know the name or number of the clinc? The only one that I am familiar with is Dr. G in Huntersville, NC.

To those concerned about the harsh strict diet-I thought the same at first, but those appetite suppresant pills really work miracles.  I find that a caffeinated drink about midday also helps to boost the effect of the pills, and I don't walk around hungry.  I sometimes just wind up skipping a meal, or having a snack in its place.  I found a really helpful site to help track my calorie intake as well: www.sparkpeople.com.  It was free to join, and I just use the meal planner calorie tracker.  Practically everything is listed in their food database, so everyday I make sure I am honest and consistent with journaling everything I have eaten.

The diet calorie restrictions aren't that bad, because protein calories don't count against you.  I have gotten really creative with substituting desserts and fancy coffees (I was a Starbucks girl...until I realized how many calories is in one tall toffee nut latte).  International Foods makes a good sugar free/caffeine free flavored coffee mix which only has 30 calories.  I keep protein bars, lean cuisine meals, and soups (no cream based) on hand...that pretty much does the trick for the most part.

I go in tomorrow 3/15 for my one month at Dr. G's in Huntersville.  So far I have lost around 13 or 14 pounds in my first month.  I have about 25 or 30 more to go, but I know this is working and I am determined to get back to my size 10!

As for the shots, it seems to have a great side effect on me...my skin cleared up almost immediately!  Now, I don't think that will go for everyone...usually in pregnancy, women will have acne from the hormones, but when I got pregnant my skin cleared up.  I think it was the HCG then, and I think that is what is doing the trick again!

Good luck to everyone who is on this diet!

I see a lot of people on here go to Dr. G and I have heard he is good, the only issue with him is he does not accept insurance for the HCG program and that gets expensive.  There are numerous people I work with that is going to a Dr. that is right across the street from Dr. G and its @ North Cross Medical Center *******, they do they exact same thing as G and they accept insurance.  For us we only have to pay a co-pay of $25 for each visit and Wal-Mart fills the Phentermine  for $11 so you really come out cheap, anybody that is interested in doing this I would call NCM and get an appointment there before paying the high price of G.

There is a Doctor in Salisbury, NC that does the HCGTHERAPY. His name is DR.J.N.Holmes,MD & Associates. His address is 102 Mocksville Ave-Suite 104 Salisbury,NC. His phone number is 704 216 0229. His program is called WEIGH - TO  -GO. You get three shots a week. You give them youself. You weigh in about every 5 weeks. His program sounds better than  the others that have been mentioned here. You can get the meds in the office. I don't remember how expensive the program is.

No, I am not going there now. I started the program and I had another problem . So I  had to stop going. I had a spur on the bottom of my heel and that laid me up for about a year. The Doctor used steroid and finally had to do surgery. Needless to say those, those steroid made the gain a lot of weight. Now that my^foot is better, I am thinking about starting the program again.  When  is your next appointment? I live in Landis . Go to hcgdietinfo.com read all the info you need there. Dr.Simeons is the founder of the hCG protocol, started back in the 1950's. I noticed that many of these people who say they were on the hCG diet, only to loose like 10 lbs a month... WRONG!!!!!! If you are doing this protocol right, you will be loosing a pound a day and in some cases more. Read anything by Dr.Simeons and you will know this. You have to stick to the 500 calorie diet a day. And there a specific foods. But it works. I've tried everything from Phentermine to ear stapeling. And nothing helped me get it off & keep it off. I lost 40 lbs the first round back in September '07 and have not gained one pound back and I eat anyhting I want. That is not a lie nor an exageration. If i gain over 3 to 4 lbs within a few days I just don't eat any sweets for a few days and I'm back on track. Good Luck to anyone going on the hCG protocol, and keep in mind if you are doing it right you WILL loose a pound a day!

They don't return emails or phone calls. I GOT EXCUSES THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES, THEN NOTHING. I have my credit card behind them now. I would love to hear fom you right away. Thanks

About hcg : HUMAN CHORIONIC GONADOTROPIN is a pharmaceutic hormone which is normally found in the human female only during pregnancy. When given as an injection, HCG appears to improve the metabolismin stored body fat, both in terms of visceral fat ( internal fat in and around the internal organs) and somatic fat (fat covering the rest of the body). In other words, it reduces the "stubbornness" of the internal fat, making it more ready to be burned. How it works: During pregnancy, HCG  is released from the placenta in large amounts. HCG assists the body to unlock and release its fat stores, to enable the developing child access to essential fats found in those "stubborn" visceral fat layers. Without fat prouducts, development of the brain, nervous system, and body membranes cannot occur.Because the mother's food intake and nutrition state are not always good, the visceral ("stubborn") fat now becomes available which may explain the reason healthy babies are ofton born to malnourished mothers.
