Diet Plan--Help!!!

by haylaura, Apr 11, 2006 12:00AM
Hi everyone!  I am taking phendemetrazine and HCG injections.  I was put on an 800 calorie diet.  The problem is, I am STARVING!!!!  Not only that, I am so weak.  The diet consists of a carb, fruit, and dairy for breakfast/carb, veggie, dairy for lunch/carb, protein, veggie for dinner.  Everything has to be 0-1 gram of fat (except the protein).  Does anyone have a better diet to follow?  I HATE fat free food and practically gag while I'm eating.  I feel absolutely horrible all day from lack of energy and I'm always hungry. I was so hungry yesterday I ended up eating pizza hut (which ruined all my previous efforts) but this is the first morning I woke up and don't feel so weak and sick.  This is only the 5th day on the diet. I'm still waiting for the hunger pangs to go away (which is what I was told would happen on this drug combo).  I think if I was able to eat a little more (especially protein) and use real food instead of disgusting fat free items I would function better.  However, I NEED to lose this weight!  Sorry this post is so long but I am desperate.  Any help is appreciated!

I am on the same diet and felt the same way.  I just started it last Wed. and was ravenous the first few days.  Finally, on day 5, I  wasn't as hungry as before, although, I still have to eat more than 800 calories - I sneak in a snack or two of something around 100 calories.  I was also wondering why my appetite hadn't been curbed.  How much weight loss are you experiencing so far?

why should anyone feel like their sneaking a snack.  800 calories aday is completely terrible.  Our bodies are like furnices.  We have to feed them and in turn it keeps us going.

try eating 5 to 6 small meals throughout the day.  I love having eggs for breakfast.  1 yoke and 3 egg whites.  Add a little cheese or veggies and even canadian bacon.  It's filling, low carb, low calorie and great energy.  Try not eating after a certain time at night and drink lots of water.  Add a little juice in water..  Let's think out side of the box on this one.  I'm tired of people thinking that we need to cut out all the yummy stuff.  let's take care of our bodies, not starve them.

I am going to the Dr. tomorrow and will be weighed--not really expecting much considering the pizza hut incident!  But I think I will have to modify this diet in order to stick with it.  Today I had an egg white on 1/2 an english muffin and felt much better. I wonder if I could take b12 shots to help with energy.  Anyone combining b12/hcg/phendemetrazine?

I have been doing the Atkins Diets since Feb lost 10 lbs. My best friend is doing the same diets and has lost 31 lbs. She was 328 and I was 142. You have to only eat 15 gram of carb. All the meat and cheese you want, eggs and pork skins. Reg salad dressing. Good Luck. I am going to start HCG shots.

I am going to the dr. this morning and will ask about the phentermine--not sure if they have it (they didn't mention it).  I tried phen a few years ago but was unable to take it (made me sick).  I was thinner then so maybe now I can handle it.  I am going to add egg whites to my breakfast daily and maybe split my protein between lunch and dinner.  I think this diet has too many carbs.  Plus, they want you to use diet/fat free EVERYTHING.  I think whole grain/darker breads rather than processed diet breads would be the better choice.

hey which doctor are you going to.  i am going in gastonia.  do you multiply the protein by 4 and subtract from total calories?

Hey Cherry, that is how I count my calories.  I go to a clinic in Shelby.  We can have 800-1000 cal per day.  As long as you make healthy choices you can have just about anything.  I also found for me, if I eat breakfast/snack/lunch/snack/dinner/maybe a snack OR about every 2-3 hrs I feel better and loose faster too.

Okay--just got back from dr. They switched me to the phentermine which I will start tomorrow (15 mg 2x daily).  Do you think I will get sick from it?  I'm hoping since it's only 15 mg at a time I will be okay.  Also, how about sleep?  I can barely sleep on the phentermatrazine.  I lost 5 lbs. in 6 days (inlcuding the pizza hut breakdown)!  I know it's water weight but now the real weight will start to come off (I hope)!

Could you email me?  I live in Cherryville - 10 miles from the Shelby clinic - and I'm interested in the type of foods that you are eating on the HCG diet.  What you are actually eating for breakfast/snack/lunch/snack/dinner...  I'm going to start on the shots next, but thought I would go ahead and start eating right now - to test it out.  My email address is ***@****

Thanks for you help!!

I started Jan 17 and have lost 23 lbs.  I didn't do very well in Feb. went on a trip for a week and didn't try to eat healthy at all.

To curiousgirl06:
As for what I eat during the day...
Breakfast:  Always start your day with something that is higher protein than carbs.  I usually have 2 boiled eggs or you can make an omelet with canadian bacon and fat free cheese, maybe some veges.  If you have high cholesterol, I would not have eggs everyday.  The clinic I go to has really good protein bars and shakes (better than any I have tried from stores).

Snacks:  Light popcorn (single servings are perfect), fruit, veges (love baby carrots), protein bar

Lunch/Dinner:  I have a low fat meat (chicken, turkey) and 1-2 vegetables.  I love the baby carrots so I usually have them.  A salad with mixed greens and fat free dressing.  Low Cal frozen dinners are good too, but be sure to watch the sodium in them.

Drink lots of water.  I have between 128-160oz a day.  This sounds like a lot, but you will get used to drinking that much if you don't already.  If that is too much at first start with 64oz/day and work your way up.  I will have 1-2 cans of a diet caffeine free soft drink too.

I tried eating 3 meals a day nothing else, but I have had more success having a healthy snack between each meal.  It helps you not get hungry and want to grab something unhealthy.

I also try to NOT eat about 3 hours before I go to bed.

I hope this helps.  Have a great weekend!
Nicole

I just completed a weight profile to find out what my max calorie intake shoul be. I weigh 271 and am 5'7" and my calorie intake should be 1897 a day. So maybe that can help you figure out if you can take in some extra calories here and there. Also try the slim fast optima granola bars. They are really good and really keep you from feeling hungry in between meals. Also try constantly drinking water, if you are constantly sipping on a bottle of water it keeps your stomach thinking that it's full. If you don't like water try the Crystal Lite singles, they are really good. Personally I like the peach tea, raspberry, and lemonade. I have started doing some of these thing and have noticed that my clothes are fitting looser than they did a few weeks ago. i am also on phentermine so that doesn't hurt either. Good luck and I hope you are successful.

I have found that chewing gum (sugar free) takes my mind off being hungry.

Good Luck to Everyone!

If you have not tried the Lean for Life program I would give it a try.  It is by far the best program I have seen for the average individual.  I lost 40lbs on this program, but most importantly I now understand the approach weight loss.

Hey everyone.  Im going to a clinic in Concord.  Ive been on it for about 2 weeks now.  I eat alot of canadian bacon for breakfast also.  They told me to have 3 high protein meals in a day and the rest count as calories.   I cant stick to 800 calories in a day.  Ive gone over a little bit 6 out of my 12 days on it.   But I have one of the Adkins Advantage protein shakes every morning, it ends up being 100 calories after you subtract the protein and the chocolate is awesome.  I add canadian bacon to it also to get the protein higher in the morning.  I tried the Lipo B shots the first week but didnt do it this week.  Is anyone using those and have you found results?
