Cont.... Now I will say that I am no longer going to take the shot. I will however, continue to take the Phentermine that my family Dr has now written me a script for. I do like the energy I feel when taking it. But, from now on, I am going to invest that money that I have been spending for that shot into joining a gym, working out, and continueing to eat right and healthy. I think that my results will be amazing and I will keep everyone posted. I am not trying to start arguments over this, I am just really wanting feedback. Wondering if I am the only person that feels this way. I really just wanted to inform people in here to what new information that I have been given. One web site that I looked at this morning said that the reason these shots have not been FDA approved for weight loss, is because it is a fertilization treatment, and in bold letters said DO NOT use as weight loss method. Not only on one site, but several sites did it mention this. I think if it says it that much, there is something to it.
Clearly you have done your research and the research has given you the answer. I have never taken the shots but have been persuaded to take pills and quick diet fads to lose weight and it was just a smokey mirror. The ability to lose weight is all up to us, we just need to not focus on how fast we lose it. I found a wonderful website, free, that helps me track all my calorie, carbs, fats, protein and gives me a level that i must exercise to lose weight. I have lost 4 pounds in 3 weeks and I'm thrilled because I always had the ability to lose weight but no one bothered to tell me how to do it right! My weight hadn't budged in over two years, spending hundreds of dollars on junk!
if anyone is interested in the website let me know.
Yeah, I have found a similar web site. It is sparkpeople.com. It is all free too. But I am now going to invest my money into joining a gym, and eating a little more healthier than the diet I am doing through the Dr. I can afford it a little bit better, not having to pay them that much money a month. I think it will be better.
you all need to check out what the FDA dose approve! They are crazy in my book .Check out what is in the diet drinks (ASPARTAME) This is not good for you back in 1970 it was brought before the FDA and it was turned down then the head guy retierd and then if was approved. Check it out you will be suprised. And also check out carcinogens in food see they say it is only in smoking cigs. not true the FDA will do any thing to make money on sick people. If you are on adkins you are consuming ASPARTAME. Then go check out splenda.
No offense and thanks for that information, but what does any of that have to do with the shot itself. That is what I am questioning here. And on the diet I do, I don't consume anything with sugar substitutes, so I have no idea where the topic lead to what you are talking about. Again, thanks for the insite though.
I would take what the FDA says with a grain of salt. I agree with the above poster about the FDA. It is amazing the stuff they approve of....Aspartame being one of them!
There is a website that you can read all about HCG. Let me see if I can find that for you. BRB
The HCG shots are actually a hormone that pregnant women produce. It is the hormone that feeds and nourishes the placenta. When a person goes on a low calorie diet and takes HCG injections, the HCG supposedly draws the fat out of your cells and as it passes through the body, it helps control your appetite. You have to drink tons of water to flush it out.
HCG shots don't have anything to do with raising your hormone levels. Bobby, I hate to call you out, but you need to read up on HCG. HCG is a hormone that pregnant women produce.
Well this is the point that I am trying to get oeveryone to realize. I know what HGC is. I have done my research over and over again before I started the shots. What I am trying to get across here, is that I researched the name that was printed on a sticker on one of my needles that I had. The name on that sticker says Chorionic Gonadotropin. When you look this up, it is a Fertilization treatment for women, and the web sites say that it should not be used as forms of weightloss. This has me worried.
HCG is a fertility drug, that is true. When a woman is pregnant the fetus demands much nutrition from the mothers body in order to develop and grow. The claim is that HCG accesses the fat stores of the mother instead of muscle tissue in order to feed the fetus these vital nutrients. No harm to the mother and no harm to the fetus. What HCG is supposed to do for you is access your fat stores and break them down so they can be released in your blood stream to feed a fetus. Since there is no fetus, the body simply eliminates it if you do not use it up, or so the weight loss clinic claim. This is why you can survive on such a low calorie diet, because you are using the nutrients from your stored fat to feed your body and not from calories you take in. That is what the weight control center told me before I started the injections. I kind of believe this because I am an RN and I have worked in mother/baby for over 10 years but I'm not sure if it truly is the HCG that releases the fat stores or another hormone. I am on my second week of injections and it gets a little easier to stay on the diet with each injection but I still find that I have a week spot for sweets. That is why I think it would be easier for me to do weight watchers were my food choices are not so limited.
Yes, the FDA does say not to use this as a weight loss drug because they want it to be specific for fertility. The research that the pharmaceutical companies performed before it was approved for use was just for infertility not weight.loss. Thus, they can't sell hcg for weight loss, because if there are any problems that occur when using it for weight loss, they will get sued and these pharm companies can't risk this! That's why they say don't use it for weight loss, because this has not been researched by the pharm company. I would like to say, you will lose weight...5-7lbs per week if you are starving yourself with 500 calories a day! I go to a clinic that gives you 800-1000 calories per day and use the detox diet. It is safer because it retrains your eating patterns. You eat baked potatoes, vegetables, protein up to six times a day and still lose weight. Any plan that can help you restructure your eating will be best because you can maintain this after the shots are over...That's the kind of weight loss program I like! Check out http://www.altmedofthetriad.com This is the clinic that I go to and they explain everything to you. To date, I have lost 22lbs in three weeks! I barely have time to exercise...I like the forums better! Good luck with your weight loss!

I did the HCG shots and lost about 25 pounds and three and a half inches in my waist. There is simply no way I would have been able to eat 500 calories a day and still have enough energy to go to work everyday and go to school too. I have tried cutting my calories back to 1200 a day and doing an hour and a half of cardio daily and I still couldn't get below 135 (I'm 5'5'') no matter how I tried.
HCG is the only thing that has let me lose the weight. I eat pretty healthy, but even when I splurge I don't gain weight as fast as I used to.
HCG is a hormone produced by pregnant women, but it is naturally occuring in small amounts in everyone. It regulates the hypothalimus and ensures that a fetus gets nutrients even if a mother's caloric intake gets too low. By eating a very specific diet, you can trigger your hypothalimus to release 2,500 calories a day into your blood stream. 2,500 calories, plus another 1,000 calories you are not consuming is equal to about 1 pound per day. If you simply ate 500 calories, your body would only burn about 1,000 calories, so when you hear people say the weight loss is only from the low calorie diet, they clearly haven't done it and they don't know what they are talking about. HCG isn't approved for weight loss, because simply taking it without the very specific diet will do nothing, and most of the research conducted that says HCG is ineffective as a weight loss tool was conducted improperly without following the specific protocol.
*HCG alone causes no weight loss,
*HCG and 500 calories a day will make you lose about .25-.33 pounds per day until your metabolism slows down
*HCG and a very specific 500 calorie diet will allow your body to lose about 1 pound per day for up to 6 weeks.
Some people can lose weight just fine by working out and cutting back calories, that's awesome,
For the rest of us who are still overweight despite trying everything out there, thank goodness we have HCG!
HCG side effects can include increased fertility in women (in much higher dosages) , and it has no affect on heart rate. HCG side effects for men on the specific diet include: weight loss and decreased appetite.
If anyone wants to do it, I go to a place in Tampa called Raydiance and they have it and will walk you through everything.
if anyone is interested in the website let me know.

You described that perfectly!
