I have been receiving the hcg injections and taking phentermine since June.  The only side effect I have had is some hair loss that is only noticeable to me.  There are no bald areas.  I believe this is a side effect from the phentermine rather than the injections.  I weighed 247 when I began and as of today I weigh 197.

I don't know a lot about HCG, so I was trying to find out more about the type of person it works the best for and what it's used with.  Is it something that has to be used in combination with Phentermine? And does anyone else think that the extremely low calorie diet has the most to do with the weight lost? Also, does the weight come back once the shots are done?

hcg does not have to be used with phentermine or other appetite suppressants but they certainly help. Most people say they couldn't stick to the diet without them. Yes, the very low cal diet is the key. In fact I have heard that you are wasting your time and money on hcg if you don't follow the plan and that you can even gain weight. The idea is for the hcg to flush out stored fat and for that to provide some of the nutrients you need to supplement your caloric intake.

That being said, I myself do not believe extremely low cal is healthy. A lot of people on hcg do  600-800 or even 500 but I do around 1000-1100 and I am still losing weight. Even if its not as fast as others or as fast as I would like, I'm learning healthy habits that I can stick to for life and I believe that is the key to keeping it off after I meet my goal and stop the meds.

by tiquis, Oct 18, 2006 12:00AM
I was on HCG for 2 months lost 25 lb, and since a I got my last one 3 weeks ago, i been having my period....

HCG is a hormone produced during pregnancy, that's why I think my mestrual disorder is due to the shots...

Not to be dumb, but how does this figure into the menstrual period thing? I haven't had mine in over 2 years. I'm 36.

I read where you have not had a period in 2 years. Have you been checked for PCOS?
I was just diagnosed with this. Do you have abnormal hair growth (chin, upper lip?)
It is an ovary disorder that is connected with insulin, testosterene (sp)
To all women here.....look this up and if you are experiencing the symptoms, go see an ENDOCRINOLOGIST. PCOS could explain weight gain and a whole bunch more things. It has to do, also, with being Prediabetic.
If you want to do some testing of your own first, to keep from spending the $ on testing, get yourselves a blood sugar monitor. Check your blood sugar like a diabetic does. You are supposed to be 100 or under (not too low, though)Eckards has a monitor for $20 and it comes with 10 strips (the strips are the big expense in this.) you can buy the 50 pack for about $30. Try the 10 first, if your sugar levels are most all over 100, the buy the 50. Keep a record of your readings. The info with the pack will tell you when to test. Show this to the Endocrinologist.
I have heard about being put on glucophage and dropping weight  without even trying.
Hope this helps!

Kevin Trudeau's website states that there is not an oral form of hcg. That is true - there is no hcg pill or formulation that can go through the stomach.

Millennium Medical Spa has a patent pending liquid form of hcg, called RELEANA,  that is absorbed sublingually. It penetrates the mucous membrane under the tongue and goes directly into the bloodstream. It's extremely effective. www.releana.com

Hi Sarah,
What is your affiliation with Millennum Medical Spa that you would know that releana is extremely effective.
