I have diabetes 2, eat small healthy meals and still no weight loss

With Diabetes 2 I take 8 mg of Avandia a day.  Can't take metformin because of bowel irritation.  Have gained 17 lbs during the 4 years of taking Avandia.  I eat healthy small meals and Ac1 tests are 5%.  Exercise is hard because of arthritis in knees and feet.  I now weigh 250 at 5' 8" and feel a mess and my doctor is still yelling at me to lose. Blood Press. and everything else is under control with synthroid, toprol, lisinopril and zetia.  I have no energy and recently have become very agitated and now take .25 Xanax twice a day.  A shrink gave me the Xanax but doesn't want to talk, my internist doesn't want to see me back for 3 months because "I'm healthy".  So what do I do?  Thanks.

It may be that you're not expending enough calories out. That is really something that needs to be done to lose fat. Since you're not able to walk, why not get a stationary bike or get one of those videos you can work out while sitting in a chair. I hear those are really helpful. Good luck, and hope you start losing soon!
