I need help!! Desperate

by nalla, Nov 04, 2006 12:00AM
Ok, here is my problem. I have some medical issues that cause me a great deal of pain. I am on some pretty heavy pain killers and they make me feel all doped up. I will be having surgery in about a month to fix the problem. (hysterectomy) But for now I am pretty much non active. I'm sitting or laying down pretty much all the time. I have been in pain for several weeks now and have gained about 8 lbs!! And I have to eat every few hours to be able to take my meds. I am so afraid of how much weight I will gain in this next month. Can anybody help me? I was very active before and loved excersising, but now I just feel horrible mentaly and physicaly that I had to give it up. What can I do? I'm gaining so fast. Please if anybody can give me some idea's what I can do. The pain is depressing me as it is, and adding on the lbs isn't helping at all! I had a baby a year ago and had to work really hard to lose that weight I gained. I was making some great progress now I'm gaining everything back and know I will continue to keep gaining. I need help!

Sorry about your situation but there is no need for you to take diet pills while you are already taking meds. This is what you do. Eat five small meals. This should be easy since you have to eat inorder to take your meds. Your foods should consist of lean protein. For example, breakfast would be an eggwhite omlette, half cup of rice or homemade has browns (optional)and half of a fruit (apple, grapefruit, strawberries) Something that's low in sugar. Then from there you eat every 2.5-3hrs. This allows your metabolise to increase. With each meal drink 20oz of water to equal 100oz. Water in equals fat out. If you want you can have the same thing that you had for breakfast for your snack. Then have a sinceable lunch. (chicken breast salad. Are you getting the picture. For you 4th meal eliminate the carbs (rice) then your 5th meal you add that back in. At this point you will still be drinking your water. Things to avoid is butter, cheese, and mainly salts,no bread. Do this for about 3 days and I promise you will see a few pounds disappear. Sorry it's so long.Good luck to you.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to pay extra attention to what I eat. I'm just worried that I will still gain because I'm not able to do any kind of exersise and am laying or sitting for most of the day. But at least I know I will be able to lose after this nightmare is over. Thanks for your tips. I will keep them in mind. :)

Hey Nalla,

My neighbor lost 35 lbs. on a 1200 calorie a day program with no exercise.  Since you are not exercising to balance the caloric intake then you will have to eat less.  It is simply process just hard to follow with all the temptation and in your case boredom from having to be stationary.  Good luck.  You can do it. Get a good book...
