LA Weight Loss and Low blood pressure

by norinski, Sep 25, 2006 12:00AM
Hello,  I have been going to LA weight Loss for 5 weeks now and have lost almost 12 pounds.  They measure and check my vitals quite often.  Well anyway my blood pressure has continuously been going down from 102/65 to 100/60,  and today 98/60.  has this happened to anyone else from this diet or any others diets where you take some sort of supplements.  I have read that the bottom of the normal range is 90/60, but I am getting a little nervous.  I feel fine no aches or pains, nausea, dizziness, or lightheadedness.  I do get a headaches once in awhile but thats normal.  Any help would be appreciated....

Hi Norinski,

Did the LA Weight Loss thing - Hated it!!!  Lost no weight and the diet plan didn't work for me.  I didn't buy their expensive suppliments and I didn't have the results.  Nothing went down for me except my bank account.  Good luck!

Your blood pressure is fine.  Obese people often get high blood pressure that will go away as they lose weight.  Since the clinic is "watching" you carefully, I wouldn't worry about it too much.  Next visit sit down with the doctor and have him/her explain what is  happening with your blood pressure and what you should look for in the way of danger signals of low blood pressure.  Congrats on the weight loss, glad it's working for you.

If you are concern about your bp you could have a nurse at your DR office to check it.  There usually is no charge for most Dr offices.  Maybe the girl/guy really isn't taking a accurate reading.  I say this because while I was pregnant each visit the medical assistance would take my bp.  I knew she wasn't doing it right-she was simply doing it to fast.  I was to monitor my bp at home and at home I was getting a ready of 170/100 but at the dr office it was everytime 130/70.  I said something to the dr who didn't recheck.  Then about a month later I was seen by the Nurse Pactioner who wonder why my shoes weren't tied.  I said my feet are to swollen and I am just wondering what I am going to were to the hospital since I had over 2 months to go.  She check my bp.  It was 200/110 and just less than 30 minutes the medical assistance had but 130/70.
