Lap Band Surgery

I am seriously considering the Lap-Band surgery and would like information about after care ie diet. I understand you may be put on a liquid diet for a while. My concern is after that..are there certain things you can and can not eat? There is a woman in my office that had gastric bypass done and seems to have to eat a certain amout of portein. Is this true with the Lap-Band. I work in Medical Records in a local hospital and am very well away of this procedure. I'm just not sure about the after care. I'm not sure how other hospital or Physicians work as far as the pre care. Our Physicians require several test be done before the procedure is done. Which includes a cardiac workup as well as a scope and psycological testing. Is this somthing that is done in most cases?
