Lipodissolve - Anyone else doing this? Results?

Lipodissolve - Anyone else doing this? Results?

by st.louis1here, May 30, 2006 12:00AM
I've just completed my 2nd lipodissolve treatment.  This time I did 2 area's, upper and lower abdomen.  The first time was only on lower abdomen and I could see definately see a difference.

Anyone else undergoing this?  If you already did it, what was your results?

This is definately not painless.  Swelling, bruising, burning and pain for about 2 days.  I can tolerate it, but the first hour after the injections is pretty tough to bear - but it does get better.  Any questions, just ask me.  I'll share my experience.

Please share your experiences about this treatment.

I live on the Illinois side of St. Louis and have considered this.  What type of costs are we talking about?  Will insurance pay for part of it?  Are the doctors willing to give any pills to curb your appetite?  What is to stop the fat from reaccumulating after the shots? Thanks.

by st.louis1here, May 31, 2006 12:00AM
It is very expensive, but I am hoping that it is worth it.  Each area is considered a "different area".  Such as, upper abdomen is one area and the lower abdomen a different area.  One individual treatment is 600.00.  If you buy a package of 6 treatments to one area it is 2400.00.  2 area's - 6 treatments - the cost is 4000.00.

Insurance does not cover this.  Interest free financing for 1 year or low interest -to finance over 2 years.

There are diet drinks that you can purchase there, but I didn't do that part.  I am sure there are other things they offer besides the diet drinks.

They told me that the fat cells are dissolved and that they don't come back.  I guess this is supposed to be like liposuction.

Day 2 - after my 2nd treatment.  Pain is minimal, abdomen has more swelling and feels heavy - just like after the 1st treatment.  Redness, but no bruising yet.

Aren't you a little afraid of what the oversea's site is sending to you?  I'd be worried that I wasn't getting the right thing. I am paying about 350.00 a session to treat 2 area.  Do you have the website address for the oversea's doctor?  Would love to see what they have to say on it.  Thanks

Crystal

Thanks so much for the website and the information.  I've already paid for the 6 lipodissolve treatments - so will go through with that.  Wish I had known of this site first and just bought the stuf myself.  I'm a nurse and have no problems giving myself the shots - at least I don't think I will - LOL.  If I see good results with this, I will prob. do the next round myself.

Thanks again.

Hi, I just had my first lipodissolve treatment on Friday (it's now Sunday, so it's 48 hours ago) I had it done on my abdomen, in a circular area with my bellybutton in the centre. The swelling is bad, and has spread beyond the injection sites to my hips, the tops of my thighs and even down to the tissue above my pubic bone. It's also very tender. Did anyone else experience this? I am so upset - I feel I should have left well enough alone. I don't have a weight problem, just a small cushion of fat on my tummy..:(

Hi
After my first treatment, I did experience swelling.  Felt like I had this huge heavy abdomen.  About 3 days later it was not heavy like that any longer.  I did get minimal edema above the pubic bone (ponds area, lol).  Didn't get any edema in my thighs, though.

I've had my 2nd treatment to the lower abdomen approx. 2 weeks ago.  I can tell a differnce in my "pooch".  I still feel sore and at times get a weird little pain by one of the "lumps".

I've had one treatment to the upper abdomen, don't see too much difference yet.  Hope after the 2nd treatment, I will see a difference.

I can still feel these little "lumps"  all though my abdomen.  They say that "pea size" is okay - they eventually go away.

I have to go 3 weeks between treatments this time, due to being out of town.   Kind of glad to have the longer time, just to see if I get more results.

thanks for that....did you also experience any numbness in the treated area? I have a huge numb area all around my belly button. the swelling is down a bit today - feel a bit less hideous! x

by Lead Sled Dog, Jun 12, 2006 12:00AM
Had my first injection 6/09/06. Some pain Friday- swelling and felt like I was carring a basket ball around Saturday and part of Sunday (very sore). Feel great today and think it will be worth it in the long run.

by st.louis1here, Jun 13, 2006 12:00AM
Hi
Yes, I definately had numbness and it last a while. Kind of freaked me out for a while, but it's gone now.

My upper abdomen has lost all of the "lumps" really fast.  I've got lots of little "lumps" on my lower abdomen.  When I run my finger across my lower abdomen it's still pretty tender - but better.

I have to say that after 2 treatments, my abdomen is getting much flatter.  I have been very skeptical, but it does appear to be working.  I am schedule for a total of 6 treatments on each area (upper and lower abs).  I am hoping that after 4 treatments I won't need any more and can transfer the extra treatments to my upper back area.

Let's all keep each other updated with our progress.  Thanks for sharing with me.

by JoJoH01, Jun 15, 2006 12:00AM
feeling better now.....did anyone get told to massage the area treated for a quicker, better result?

by st.louis1here, Jun 15, 2006 12:00AM
To: JoJo
No one told me to massage the area.  Were you advised to massage?  Do you have any lumps left?

by Lead Sled Dog, Jun 18, 2006 12:00AM
It's been just over a week with my first injection. I can notice a significant change in my lower belly.

by st.louis1here, Jun 19, 2006 12:00AM
Today I had my 3rd treatment to the lower abdomen and 2nd treatment to my upper abdomen.

I am soooo sore - lots of bruising.  Especially, on the upper abdomen - I do believe that she put more in this time.  Oh, and the basketball on my lower abdomen has return.  Did I say that this hurts?  Yes, defiantely hurts.

I can tell a difference and will go through with all 6 treatment, but it does seem like a slow torture.

I ask her about the numbness after the last treatment, she said this is normal due to the fact that they do go through nerves with the injections.

I'll update you in a couple days when I am not in pain - lol.  Don't let this discourage you all.  It is working - I can defiantely see a difference.

by st.louis1here, Jun 21, 2006 12:00AM
Well, 2 days after 3rd treatment.  The swelling is less and definately less pain.  Bruising is still present, but a bit lighter.

Did something really stupid yesterday, donated blood.  What was I thinking?  Dah!  Was totally wiped out and sick afterward.  So, don't ever give blood 1 day after having this done.

Oh, think I will definately wait for 4 weeks before another treatment.

Hey St louis 1---just tonight signed up for a package......still not sure which areas I will have treated.  Now having second thoughts------------so, make me feel better.  I have signed up with the people who do the treatments every 6 weeks.  No guarantee, suggest 3 treatments per area.  It sounds like you are doing them every 2 weeks.  Are you going to Kaplan or LipoDissolve???  Why did you choose there?  What about the guy who was going to do it himself??? Thoughts???   What was your original size?/  Age??? COuld you share that info??  There are 3 of us also here in STL.  Just went to a "Seminar"------impulse buying you know......anxious to hear from you.  Share anything you would like to.  Are you happy???

by st.louis1here, Jun 22, 2006 12:00AM
Hi Megan,
I went to the Lipodissolve down in the valley by Chesterfield Mall.  A guy at work, who is really large, had it done and he is looking great.  I saw his results and decided to try it.

I'm very early 40's.  5'3, about 138 lbs.  Size 8 - 10.  Not considered fat, but I sure don't look like I did when young and weighed 105 lbs.  Wanted to get rid of the fat on the abdomen.  I want to fit into my clothes better and not have the belly bulge.

Cost - $4000.00  ouch!!!!  That hurts too.  Paying over 12 months, interest free. I'm going to pay it off early, like in 3 months.

This includes 6 treatments to 2 area's.  Upper and lower abdomen.
If I see good results after 4 treatments - I can use the other treatments for other area's.  Love handles, is what I am thinking.

Treatments are to be 2 weeks apart. I started with 1 treatment only to the lower abdomen to see if I could handle it, it hurt, but it was tolerable.  Didn't see a lot of results after one, it definatley takes 2 treatments to see results.

I'm not sure why they want you to go 6 weeks between treatments, maybe just your places treatment plan.

Expect you abdomen to swell, like you are 4 months pregnant.  It goes down after about 3 days, at least it takes that long for me to go down.  Expect it to hurt, or should I say burn. The first 24 hours are the worst - it is tolerable, but it does hurt.   Take your tylenol before you go, it's a must.  If you have anything a bit stronger at home, take that when you get home.  I've got Ultram for back pain and I took that to help.
You will have this little lumps - after the swelling goes down.  They dissolve in time.  I am going to wait 3-4 weeks for the next treatment.  I want to see what results I get with this, so maybe use the other treatments for love handles.

I am defiantely seeing results.  I was hurting a lot after the 3rd treatment - it is so much better now - 3 days after.  Plus, even with the swelling still a bit present - my abdomen is much flatter than it was.  It does work, at least for me.  I'll continue on with it.
I've not told my hubby about this - he'd kill me.  He makes fun of the commercials on the radio and I just sit there.  So, far he's not noticed my abdomen tenderness or the swelling.  LOL

Any other questions, just ask.

by st.louis1here, Jun 22, 2006 12:00AM
Oh, I've decided not to try to inject myself.  Better to have someone else do it.  Plus, not sure I completely trust buying something to inject into myself from overseas.  Just a bit of afraid of it.

How much are they charging you for your treatments?

by megan292, Jun 22, 2006 12:00AM
Hey there, st.louis1here.  Thank you so much for the reply.  They do seem to downplay the pain angle.  Our pricing is lower for 2 reasons.  One is that they were offering plans in which the more treatments you purchased the more the price went down.  Since there were 3 of us we combined our wants a bought a bunch of treatments.  Each area we pick will be around $1200.  So I can do upper and lower abdomen (2 areas in their opinion - mine is that it is one large area ;-)) for 2400.  I have heard about the 'pregnancy' swelling.  Very funny that your husband didn't notice!!  I know for certain mine wouldn't either, but he is all for anything I want to do so no problem there.  Did you notice any difference in your upper abdomen specifically?  Am curious if it just appears that the upper needs it becuz the lower part is larger.  Sounds like your results are wonderful and am glad to see that.  The place we are going to does it a bit differently; same drugs tho.  The shots are grouped together 1/2" apart and then less material used.  I suspect yours were 2" apart but more material used.  I'm guessing 6 of one etc. in results. (1 method came from South America and the other from Europe)   Am also curious - I have a conservative 30lbs. to lose.  Have you or anyone else had this procedure done without being at your ideal weight???  Congrats to all!

by kcmo1, Jun 22, 2006 12:00AM
I found this site, and st.louis1 comments were enough for me to give lipodissolve a shot (no pun intended).

The place I'm going to is 4 visits for $1225.  They will give no more than 10 syringes full at a time. (although I'm not sure how much each of those is).  They said dont take any anti-inflamatory drugs for 10 days prior to treatment and none during treatment.  tylenol (acetaminophen) is ok.

They said do not massage or ice treated area for 48 hrs, and no exercise or strenuous activity for 48hr after treatment.

I am doing outer thighs.  I am 40 yrs old, 5'6", 145 pounds, and wear size 6-8 in pants, just have large legs :(  I got 6 syringes the first visit, and they said that was a large dose.

They said it might burn or sting really bad for an hour, but it didnt.  It got numb really quickly though.
They said some people had nausea the first hour and diarrhea the first day, neither happened to me.  I swelled pretty quickly and it felt really hot.  That lasted about 36 hrs.  I'm just 48 hrs in now and there is some bruising and a slight amount of swelling and heat still.

I only had one scary event, last night I woke up and had a strange sensation in my chest, a tingle like what menthol does.  It came and went maybe 4 times in 1 1/2 hours.  I will mention it when I go back.  They said no sooner than 2 weeks, so my first I signed up for 3 weeks apart.  So July 11th for my next visit.

by st.louis1here, Jun 22, 2006 12:00AM
Hi,
Glad to see that we are all keeping up with what is happening to each other.  Makes me feel better to go through it with someone else.

My pain is mild today and I only notice it when I touch my abdomen.  The swelling and bruising is much better, also.

My upper abdomen is so weird.  Right below the bra line, I have these "fat hunks" under each breast.  It's right over those ribs you can feel.  That's the only way I can think to describe them.  That is the upper area that I am having treated.  2 treatments so far, still waiting for the swelling to go down so that I can see if I have good results.

The shots I received were about 1/2 inch apart.  Lower abdomen had 14 shots, upper had 14 shots ---ouch!!!  28 shots at each visit.  It's payback for all the diabetic insulin shots I have given people over the years.  LOL.

The cost of your plan sounds so much better.  I also heard that the "Vein Center"  is now doing the shots.  I should have price shopped before having it done.

Any of you done botox?  Hey, I'm on a self improvement roll!!  It's that middle age thingy.   LOL

by megan292, Jun 22, 2006 12:00AM
Hey St. Louis and to all:  Okay, so our first consultation (the 3 of us are going together) is tomorrow afternoon.  I'm excited and keep reviewing the comments where people like the results.  It is motivating.   I wonder why ice woudn't be okay??  It is certainly non-invasive....
I have seen botox results and they are certainly effective but not sure about doing it myself.  I'll do at least 2 areas (prob. abdomen like you and others).  If pleased, I think I will go for more areas.  What oh what to do next..... As for other procedures, I have some sunspots on my face that oxygen isn't burning off so I'm sorta considering the various options for face skin. I look forward to hearing people's stories.  BTW, does anyone know a 'non-responder' where it didn't work??

by st.louis1here, Jun 22, 2006 12:00AM
To: Meagan
Be sure to let us know how the consultation goes.  I had my consultation and received the shots the very same day.  Wasn't pressured to do it by the business, just wanted to get started on it.

One other thing they told me was not to take any hot baths or get in a hot tub for 48 hours.  I love my hot baths.  LOL.

I've located a few sites that have before and after pictures.  I went to google, under images, and typed in (lipodissolve before after Photo.  If I can locate the sites again, i'll post them on here.

Good luck.

I'm one week in.  All swelling, bruising, etc gone.  Have a few small lumps and an occasional itch/sting around them.

stlouis1 ~ how did the swelling compare on the 2nd and 3rd visits, compared to the first time?

by st.louis1here, Jun 27, 2006 12:00AM
To: kcmo
Hi,
Actually the swelling and bruising was worse this last time, 3rd treatment.  It could have been because it was a different nurse practisioner injecting.  She kinda hurt and didn't go fast enough.  You want them to go fast, if they are giving you that many injections.

It has been 1 week after my 3rd treatment.  The swelling in upper abdomen is still present, but much better, softer - just lumpy.  The bruising is completely gone and this was where it was the worst.

My lower abdomen still has swelling - definately much softer, though.  It was so tight that my hair folicles could be seen - they looked like big pores.  Sorry, for being so descriptive, but figure somebody might want for comparison.  The brusing is just light yellow, now.  No pain except when I push on it.  It had hurt so bad, even when I sneezed or coughed.  All that is gone - last at least 48 hours this time.

How many shots did you receive in each area?  We're you nauseated at all?  First time I was, but the last 2 times, I wasn't.

I did the 12 month payment plan with zero interest, but paid it off today.  I started reading bad things on the internet about the credit card company they use.  People were saying that after 3 payments they started charging interest and they had a hard time getting it cleared up.

I paid a fortune for this - it better make me skinny!!!  LOL!!  People better start noticing.  LOL.   I've stll have 3 treatments to go - so I'll stop whining.  :.)

by stlveindrpatient, Jun 27, 2006 12:00AM
I am currently going to the St. Louis Vein Doctor (her office is off Hwy 30, near Fenton) and she is AWESOME!  She trained for her lipodissolve injections in Los Angeles, not in St. Louis by the corporate Lipodissolve center in Chesterfield.  At first, I was a bit concerned that she wasn't a "plastic surgeon" like the ones advertised at the other major clinics, but she has definitely proven herself to be very knowledgable and skilled at the procedure.

The first treatment is only $400 if you just want one session.  She has a lot of packages, too.  To treat up to four areas for ten sessions (that's a total of 40 areas treated!) is only $6500.  The office also has 0% financing with half the package paid up front.

She was very honest with me during the free consult on what I can expect to lose during my treatments.  Particularly, I am very early 30's, height 5'1" and weight around 139 lbs.  I have significant abdominal fat (and a HUGE rear) since the birth of my second child almost three years ago, but also, I have a LOT of skin that will never go away.  I had my uterus removed almost a year ago to correct some pregnancy complications, so I have a bikini cut scar that made my fat and skin hang over it.  (Think of the profile for a man with a beer belly wearing tightly-belted pants.)  It was so gross but wouldn't go away with caloric control and exercise.

At first, the Vein Doctor didn't think I'd get the results I wanted with the amount of skin I had hanging around.  However, I read reports and saw photos of excellent skin retraction after the procedures as well, but that's not a guarantee.  I told her that five years ago, I was 116 lbs of solid muscle (a size 2)and never had fat on my abs before.  She checked my size 10 waistline again and found the fat hiding down under.  She advised me of what chemicals were included in the injections and what to expect and asked if I wanted to do it that day or think about it.  I went home because I get really faint and nauseated at the sight of needles-- particularly those desitined for my flesh-- and I had to consider if my husband would have a major problem if I went through with it.

A few weeks later, I decided to Just Do It and beg for forgiveness (instead of asking for permission : - ) after my husband got the visa bill.  Well, I happened to have some topical lidocaine left over from my previous surgery and brought it with me before I got the shots.  I can attest that the topical anesthetic makes a BIG difference on how well I tolerated the injections.  I knew where I had missed smearing the lidocaine as soon as the needle touched my skin.  I don't think I could have gone through the entire procedure had I not had the lidocaine.

After the injections, I became a bit itchy in the area, only mild swelling, but I became very nauseated.  I think the nausea was related to hunger and the needle anxiety and the thought of my hubby being mad, rather than the fat melting chemicals.  After a couple hours and a miniburger later, I felt fine.  There was only some mild bruising and tenderness in my abdomen.  I didn't get any "heavy" feeling that anyone else has reported, but I also don't have a uterus either, and that might make the difference.  (I do have one ovary intact, so I am not menopausal.)

The following couple days, the bruising went away as did the swelling and tenderness.  I don't remember exactly when I got the treatment and when I checked my profile in the mirror, but I know I lost at least 3 inches off my waist circumference, and my skin does not hang over my hysterectomy scar anymore.  I finally 'fessed-up to my husband what I had done and showed him the results.

He was rather impressed but still demanded I keep up tae bo or the elliptical and lose another 10 lbs before he would consent to a package.  My argument for the package was that if I melt the fat cells in ALL my problem areas, when I do hit the weights with full force, I'm going to be burning the residual fat in the areas that weren't treated, such as my biceps and triceps.  My husband wasn't convinced, so I signed up for the full package (40 areas) anyway.

A couple weeks later, don't remember when, (so I can claim memory loss if he asks me any questions), I got my second treatment in my abs and my inner thighs.  Again, lidocaine, lidocaine, lidocaine.  This time, a lot of nausea (most likely anxiety about if husband finds out) and the same itching and swelling as before.  The bruising was much less.

I haven't taken any measurements since the second treatment yet, but I can feel a difference in my skin tone.  My abdominal area is much firmer and smoother than it has been in three years.  As far as my thighs go, well, I know they are going to take several treatments because that is where I store the majority of my excess calories.  I still had saddlebags when I was very lean everywhere else, even when body building.

And with regard to buying meds overseas, especially in the Asian countries, there was an investigative program (Dateline, I recall) showing how fake medications were made with lead based pigments and other potentially toxic compounds.  So not only were people not getting the real prescription meds they thought they were paying for, even in identical packaging, the people bought fake drugs that could cause further bodily harm.  By the way, did anyone notice that one of the previous posts (that suggests people buy their own lipodissolve chemicals out of the country) looks like it was translated from a different language?

Nevertheless, I completely support well-informed people saving some money and shooting up soy, bile, and caffeine on themselves to kill fat deposits caused by un-aesthically inclined genetics; however, you have to know your source is safe.  And unless you have some trusted friends in the biochemistry field who could do an assay to determine if you received what you paid for, I don't think it would be safe for anyone to assume people trying to make money off the websites are legitimate dealers, especially if the "testimonials" swear that the products are real because they are naturally based and cheap to make.  Recall Shakespeare's famous line turned adage?  "Methinks thou dost protest too much."  It applies here.  Otherwise, I would be posting about how I did my own lipodissolve instead of paying the St. Louis Vein Doctor to do it.

I may have another appointment with her (What's that, dear?  Oh, I don't recall..) soon, and I will keep more specific details of the pain factor, swelling, bruising, time spans, etc. now that I know this forum exists.

And for the record, I think the vein doc did offer to use a topical anesthetic before my treatments.  I was just too busy smearing on my own lidocaine to really ask about it.  Why it seems the overpriced clinics wouldn't dispense a cheap pain reducer to keep their clients coming back and recommending the procedure, I don't understand.  Maybe the big clinics are only interested in the profits instead of caring about the patients.  I don't know because I refuse to be pressured into a consultation before being told the cost.  What I do know is that the St. Louis Vein Doctor has done a great job so far.  If you're in the metro area, I do recommend the drive to see her.

by kcmo1, Jun 28, 2006 12:00AM
I've just had one treatment - outer thighs, but I was never nauseous.  They did say it was normal in the first hour though.  I didnt watch them do the shots, but they put a numbing agent in with the shots, so honestly, I never felt a thing.

by Abbs00, Jun 28, 2006 12:00AM
Hey everyone,  I started the shots in April at the LipoDissolve center in Chesterfield Valley. I started with my love handles but for some reason when I went in for a second injection they thought I was getting my love handles AND my lower abdomen treated. This kind of worried me because this whole procedure is so expensive and I thought they would keep track.  Well, ended up getting 2 areas done for the price of one. I think this was an honest mistake on their part.  I even mentioned to the doctor that I was only to get the love handles worked on but he didn't seem to care.  Everytime there after they've been treating 2 areas. So to catch up, I've had 4 treatments on my love handles and 3 on my lower abdomen.  I can definately tell my love handles have shrunk but I'm not real sure about my stomach.  I'm going in for my 5th shot on July 5th.  I don't really know where to go with the last two shots.  I really want my upper arms worked on but I don't know if two treatments would be enough to make a visible difference. After my second treatment on the love handles I don't really remember noticing a difference. To anyone who is curious I'm about 5 feet 4 inches tall and I weigh about 118. 24 yrs old. They had told me my BMI was great and I should be able to see great results. But who knows, that could be all apart of their selling tactic. I really wished I would have shopped around before doing this but on the other hand I kind of lucked out with the 2 for 1. I noticed things are tighter but I thought a lot of that had to do with the hard lumps that form in the areas. Speaking of those I had my last injection on the 7th of June and my lumps are still tender. I had the most pain coming from the last(3rd) injection to my lower abdomen.  They were sharp pains that would come along about every 2 minutes or so. This lasted for about 24 hrs. It was awful, and I'm afraid I'll experience this again when I go in for the 4th on my abdomen. Does anyone think it would be worth it to get 2 treatments on my upper arms? Is anyone else doing the upper arms?

by st.louis1here, Jun 28, 2006 12:00AM
stlveinpatient- You are so funny.  I go along with you, hubbies don't need to know until afterward.  I've had 3 treatments and he still doesn't know.  Might tell him one of these days.  I should have shopped around, but didn't.  In the future, I'll definately check them out.  I have not been offered any numbing medication - not even topical.  Oh, feel the burn!!!

Abbs- I, too, have experienced the most pain after this 3rd treatment that I just went through.  The pain was also in my lower abs.  It's been a week since my 3rd treatment and every once in a while - I get this pain sensationt that last just a few seconds.  I wonder if this is the fat cells bursting???  I'm sure lumpy.  I'm going to go 4 weeks, till my next treatment.
I am going to the same place as you are.  I had lumps left in the lower abs and the NP said that she would just inject in places where there were no lumps.  LOL.
What is their guarantee?  I keep seeing the commercials for
guaranteed results - but I didn't think to ask what it ment.

Hi There.  I've posted a lipodissolve comment but not here, on this site, under different heading, I think Weightloss.
Anyhow, its been 7 weeks post lipodissolve for me and its definitely working.  My doctor said give it 8 - 10 weeks for the final result as the fat melts even after 8 weeks, but I had one session of approx. 150 injections to my stomach and love handles and he said I wont need anymore!!  But then I only weigh about 95lbs (I'm from Australia so this is approx. 48kg) not much to begin with and certainly not overwight, but I had a bulging stomach & sides, this has all smoothed out so I'm looking really nice.  I want to know why you talk about having so many sessions.
How many injections do you get per session and why every 3 weeks apart?  The cost of this in Australis for me was $450AUS (maybe $900 Aus).  Your abs must constantly be swollen and sore!!  My doctor said to massage the treated areas for 30 min a day, very sore to begin all up until about 6 weeks, its ok now.  He said this was to speed the process up.

Oh, my gosh.  I don't know if I could tolerate 150 injections at one time.  Ouch.  I guess it would be better to get it all over with at once, though.  www.lipodissolve.com   is where I go.  And yes, I walking around with a sore abdomen most of the time.  They recommend 2-3 weeks between treatments to let the "lumps" dissolve.   I am glad to know that it works.  Maybe one of these days the US prices will come down.  It's new here, so I am sure that they are sticking it to us until more places offer it.

I sure hope mine works as well as yours does.

Hi, It will work, but you must do all the right things. The area needs to be massaged 30min a day, every day, this speeds the process & gives better results, you must exercise and go on a good eating plan.  I was massaging everyday for 6 weeks and the area was constantly sore, as if I had done a really heavy muscle workout, for the last week I've only massaged every second day for about 20 min (I've had it with the massaging).  You must remember though that this is not a weight loss thing, this procedure only removes small areas of difficult to remove fat, however, I'm sure you can get lots of areas done but it will cost you a fortune.  I'm very happy with the results.  I am 46 years old and my body shape has not changed since I was 18years old, except for a slightly bulging tummy and love handles, which I was the only one to notice, this was from having 2 children.  I run 10kms every day and I do ab workouts, however, nothing helped remove the fat from those areas, thats why I tried lipodissolve. This has given me a curvier shape, but no one noticed any difference, which is ok, for me becasue I didnt tell anyone I had it done, not even my husband.  I only told my daughter.  (dont ask me how he didnt notice as the area swells so much).

I am considering lipodisslove and I was wondering if I had it done on a thurs. would the swelling and bruising be gone by Monday? I am worried about the pain and swelling. I have 2 kids 4 and 6 will I be in to much pain to play with them and care for them? My Doc. said I should only need one treatment. I am very small 5'3 and 104lbs. I store my fat in my outer thighs. Saddle bags. Only since giving birth to my kids has this become a problem for me.

I am very nervous to have this done. My doc. seems very confident about this. He thinks I will have great results. I am worried about deformity or uneven or lumpy etc. What about long term results and problems. What if the meds they inject cause horrible problems in the future. Is anyone else worried about this?

Has anyone done their legs? I am reading alot about the abdomen.
Please let me know what you think? Would you do it again? are you happy with the results? is the pain worth it? most of all how long did you have to weight before working out? Was the pain to much to sit down? Toilet, sleep etc. Any info you could give me would be greatly appreciated! I am scheduled for July 13.

Hi,
I've not had it done to my thighs, so not sure exactly how the pain and swelling would be in those area's.  I'm wondering about seeing results after only 1 treatment, though.  I was told by the lipodissolve center that you wouldn't see any results until at least 2 treatments.  But, maybe you would, since you are so tiny to start with.

I had my 3 treatment a week ago and I am still somewhat swollen on my abdomen and still light bruising.  For me the first day is the worst.  The first 2 hours, especially.  Swelling, burning and you think to yourself "why the hell did I do this".  I'm seeing results, though.  I've not changed my eating habbits, but need to.

I think you will be okay taking care of the kids.  Just make sure to sit around for a while afterward - maybe pop on a movie for them.  Take tylenol before going.  For me, coughing and sneezing really hurt a lot the first day, but that was for the abdomen.  Sleeping was fine as long as I slept on my back the first night.  After that, it was my normal rolling around.

I, too, have thought about the long term concerns with what is injected.  I guess they have been doing this overseas for a long time and I couldn't find any bad results when I searched the internet.

Hope this helps a little.  If I didn't answer your questions, just ask again.  I'm happy to share what I am going though.

by yules, Jul 03, 2006 12:00AM
Thank you so much for your reply. You have been so helpful with all of your responses to everyone's questions. I am so nervous.
I have gone back and forth a million times with having this done. How many more treatments do you have? Are you happy with the results now? did you take any pictures before and after or even of the swelling and bruising?

How long after the injections do you think you would have to wait to exercise? As far as the pain and swelling?  What is your advice for this whole procedure? Would you do it again? Are you amazed by the results?

The doc. said he thinks only one treatment to the saddlebag area but he did say we would have see how it goes and that 2 may be needed. Do you take the arnica or what ever that stuff is for the bruising and swelling? Could I even hide this or is the swelling so bad I won't fit in my clothes? All in all how long would you say after the injections do all of the side effects last? bruising swelling soreness etc. until everything feels and looks normal?

sorry for all the questions. I am just so nervous and this is the only website I have come across where people are going thru this right now. You are really my make it or break it decision.
Thanks again!

I'm considering have lipodissolve procedure on my chin (jowls I guess they are called) I've read every commment here and not seen that anyone has done this part of their body??? Has anyone done this and if so, what are your results and problems (if any) encountered?
Thanks!

I'm thinking about lipodissolve for my saddlebags and inner thighs.  Most of the comments on this site are about the abdomen.  Can anybody comment on lipodissolve to the inner/outer thighs or under the butt area?  Does this help cellulite?  Would it be recommended to wait until bikini season is over before getting any treatments?  Does everybody bruise?  (I don't bruise very easily at all so I'm looking for another "non-bruiser" to comment).  Is the swelling so bad that I won't be able to hide it from my husband?  Can anybody comment who is a non-responder to lipodissolve?  Any comments would be appreciated.

by yules, Jul 03, 2006 12:00AM
hottiewannabe- I have the same questions and concerns as you do.
I have my apt. set for July 13th but I am so concerned about the bruising and swelling and being able to hide it. I just found a  few sites that have said this was banned in brazil now due to some people having nerve damage and deep pockets of infection. Anybody else read these.

hottiewannabe- if you decide to do this please keep us posted on your progress. st.louis1 seems to be happy with her results so far. I would love to hear more info from others that have done this on legs.

by kcmo1, Jul 06, 2006 12:00AM
I am 2 1/2 weeks in on my outer thighs.  I have my 2nd treatment July 11th.  The swelling was probably 1 1/2 inches worth.  I could wear my loosest jeans only after 3 days.  You cant hide this.  There is redness and swelling and bruising, but goes away pretty quickly ~ well it did for me.  I walk an hour a day.  They said do not exercise for the 1st 48 hrs, and for me, changing positions for the first 48 hrs was tough.  Sitting, lying, standing, walking, all were fine, it was going from one to the next that was uncomfortable.  They said it was like packing 5 pounds of weights to what ever area you had done, and that is what it felt like to me.  I cant jog yet w/out some pain.

I thought the banning I read was for personal use ~ ie you couldnt buy it to do to yourself.  Like stloius, I searched for all kinds of results information before deciding to try it.  I couldnt find anything bad.

I considered inner thighs, but opted for outer only.  I think inner thighs would be pretty tough to deal with.

They also told me there would be nothing noticable until after the 2nd treatment.   They said they created pkgs of 4 sessions, but they treated the staff & drs before starting treatments on any patients and said most needed 5-6 treatments for the results they wanted.

2.5 weeks since my 3rd lipodissolve treatment.  I am still pretty tender with lots of lumps on my lower abdomen.  I am due to be treated again next Tuesday.  I am going to postpone and wait another week to see if these lumps go away.  I read somewhere that if they inject into another lump - it is a waist of a treatment - that these area's need to go away first.  Anyone else heard this?

Also, read that if you are near or on your period that you will have more swelling.  I started my period 2 days before the 3rd treatment.  I wonder if this was the reason that I had more swelling.  I still have swelling present - not like at first - but I can tell there is still a moderate amount present.

Upper abdomen is better- tender, but much less lumps.  I wonder why the lumps go away faster in this area vs. the lower abdomen.

I've decided that I should probably be dieting during this.  Atkins for 4 days now.

I just called my local center in the St Louis area and have a consultation next week for Lipodissolve.   I enjoy reading about others' experiences with this and it has persuaded me to try it.   I will update you all with how it goes with me as well.  Thanks to all !

If you are going to the Lipodissolve Center in Chesterfield Valley, they will let you do your first treatment the same day.  Get Sara, if you can, she is fast with her shots.

Hope all goes well.

Stlouis1here - Thank you for your input.  I will ask for Sara then.   It helps that some of the people on these message boards have gone to the same location in Chesterfield Valley.   That is good news that I should be able to get my first shots on the same day of my consultation.  I was impressed to hear that they are open 8am-8pm every day.  That sure helps their business for sure,  and is very convenient for their patients !

Has anyone went to LIPO-MAGIC to get Lipodissolve done?   It is on Benham Rd in St Louis.   According to their website, they beat "ADVANCED LIPODISSOLVE CENTER'S"  rates by 25%  and I wanted to see if anyone had good experiences with LipoMagic or if I should stick with my appt. for the Advanced LipoCenter?   Let me know. Thanks !

Hi everyone, sorry I've been so quiet but I have working like crazy. My lipo update - it's been just over four weeks, swelling all gone, a little lumpiness and tenderness and numbness remains around the bellybutton mainly, and it has definitely made a difference. I would go for a second round but the side effects from the first were too severe to make it worth it for me. Bella - from Australia - who did your treatments? You are very similar to me in age etc and I am curious....

by Lead Sled Dog, Jul 09, 2006 12:00AM
I just had my 2nd treatment Friday (upper & lower abs). I was a little sore firday and Saturday, but great today. I have mine done in Kansas City. I think that the person giving the treatment has alot to do with it. It certinly seams this treatment went better then the first. That could be that I  did't know what to expect the first time or the individual was better at the injections. What ever, I've made an appointment with Susan for my next round.

My lipodissolve treatment was done by Dr Powell, from a clinic in Toorak.  I am happy with the results.  The sides of my love handles have smoothed out and I have a nice curve and where they bulged previously, it is all smooth and my stomach is flatter, but I'm thinking of having a little more done again in the next week or so.  I can put up with the pain (this only lasts for a few days) but I dont want the swelling as last time it took about 2 weeks for all of it to dissapear and since I have a few functions coming up I dont want to wear loose clothes.  I swelled alot!! My middle was like a barrell. But then I had about 150 injections all at once, so I figure if I only need a 1/4 or 1/2 the injections, the swelling wouldnt be that bad, but I definitely want it done by summer.  And, as the fat dissapears, the skin is not left loose, it does contract, which my doctor said would happen.  For anyone contemplating it, go for it, but, it is not a miracle cure for weight loss.  All my clothes are looser but remember, I only weigh 48kg, not much there in the beginning, just trouble spots, so if you are bigger, you would need many sessions.

What side effects are you talking about. Is it the swelling or bruising or the pain. The bruising dissapears within 3 days, mine did, but then I think the doctor who injected was very professional, seemed to know what he was doing.
There are not many places in Melbourne who do this, at least I couldnt locate any.  Where did you have yours done...can you mention names....its ok, if you dont want to or cant.  My doctor is happy for me to advertise, he said to tell all my friends.
I didnt tell anybody and wont.  If you want his address, I can give it to you, I think he would be happy for me to advertise for him.

Hello All,

Are you all still receiving treatments?  Did the swelling and soreness ever go away?  What have been your results since last year?  I'm considering getting this treatment but wanted to know what the long-haul will bring?

Please help me I'm going on vacation, and I want to be HOT!!!

My experience has been positive.  I live in California.  The sessions are expensive ($800 each)...relatively...but less expensive than liposuction and just as effective, as I have had that too.  You MUST use a topical numbing creme and my doctor even has me lie on ice pads after the numbing creme and before the injections.  Also take Arnica, it will reduce the swelling and bruising and apply Arnica creme afterwards.  If you eat a good protein filled meal before injections, you should not experience the nausea.  Afterwards, drink lots of water to help your body flush and excrete everything.  The swelling is severe and (naked) noticeable, but I just wear sweatpants or sweatshorts a few days and take things kinda easy and things go fine.  After 4 treatments (abdomen, thighs, legs, buttocks, hips and back) I see a noticeable difference.  All my clothes are too big and my cellulite on my legs is much smoother and less visible.  I want 2 or 3 more treatments and I think I'll be happy enough with the results to stop. I am 45 yrs old, 5'6" size 10, weight 140, active.

oh my gosh you guys - I am SO DISAPPOINTED in FIG - Lipodissolve - they are here in Scottsdale - and yes - the consultation is "free" and you get all excited and sign up - well guess what?? They don't practice "full disclosure" on the side effects!! (at least they didn't to me) - PRIOR TO MY FIRST TREATMENT - I backed out due to the lack of what "really will happen" and the fact that I bruise really easy/just started a new job - can't miss work - - - -GUESS WHAT?? - I had my consultation on a friday afternoon and was supposed to have my treatment monday afternoon - after NOT having a treatment - their finance department isn't refunding me my money!! - - Let me rephrase that - I can't seem to get their office in Missouri to call me back since the person in Scottsdale says she couldn't process the "24 hour cancellation".....3 calls to her "contact" with no response and I called back - the person in Scottsdale says she sent this person an email and I should hear back from them soon.....Yeah, right...........I can tell you this - I had my sister and another person lined up for treatments (not as allergic to pain as I am) - and I've now told them all about this experience and will continue to tell EVERYONE possible until this is resolved satisfactorily.......ok - thanks for letting me vent!

I live in Houston, TX and have had two treatments on my entire abdominal and love handle area. I believe the swelling is a definite for most people due to the fact that this is what you want to occur in order for the fat cells to burst and then eventually be dissolved out through excretion. The bruising may vary depending on whether you are a person who bruises easily and also be careful not to jump or fidget as the injections are administered; this will cause bruising as you are causing the skin to rupture. Be aware while you are getting the injections and try to be very still. I also think having a treatment around the time of starting your period causes more swelling as most women have a tendency to swell at this time anyway. I am going for my third treatment today and plan only to have a total of four treatments. I am seeing change in the way the fat is sitting on my abdominals but I don't think anyone will see the changes in the shape, flattening and contouring of these areas until treatments are finished and the body has the opportunity to completely flush out the fat cells that have been treated. I know it's hard to be patient as I am the most impatient person of all; but I think you will see some type of results generally after about 6-8 weeks after completing the treatments. You must also remember that if you have a BMI of over about 25-28 this is probably not the procedure for you. This is a procedure that concentrates on pockets of fat that are resistent to proper diet and exercise. You should also not be paying more that $250-300 per treatment; otherwise you are being ripped off. I am going to suggest the place where I am having treatments in Texas. Visit www.drvitenas.com for address and location and the girl who administers treatment is Anita, and they also have a package deal. P.S. Also remember that there are small percentages of people who do not respond to certain medical treatments. This is a risk you take with anything that you do in life. Good luck and I wish you well with your treatments. By the way, I do not work at this Dr.'s office; I am just a pleased customer who has faith that I will see good results from the procedure at a reasonable and fair price.

I had Lipodissolve done last night and I look like I am about 6 month present, they gave me 100 shots!!!. I had my middle abdomen done. I am in some pain right now but it is tolerable, I only needed to loose like an inch and a half of my belly, I heard it on the radio and called, went to the conce;tation and then had it done yesterday. The actual procedure isn't bad it is today, I am so swollen, not to meniton the tenderness of the whole stomach area. How long will it take for the swelling to die down?

Does it help to wear a compression garment of some sort (like after liposuction) to prevent lumps?
I'm considering Lipodissolve for my thighs, and I worry about a lot of swelling.

Just had Lipodissolve done for 1st time on 6/29/07 on my abdomen.  Begininning - 104 cm.  Lady in my office had it done, so did her mom, and they are both happy with the results on their abdomen. Here's tips & info that I've learned so far:

Per dr's offc:

Have a high protein meal about 2 hrs before the procedure
wear loose clothes or bring loose clothes to change into
don't wear compression garments or tight pantyhose, etc.  Offc said one lady wore a garment like that & swelling went down to her legs.
arnica gel & tablets to help with bruising & swelling

possible side effects:

lightheaded, dizzy
nausea, vomiting
diarrhea
possible vulvar swelling
swelling (if on abdomen, expect to look like you're several months pregnant); expect swelling to peak at about 48 hrs, then start gradually subsiding over next 14+ days
bruising
'
was told NO IBUPROFEN, ADVIL, OR OTHER ANTI-INFLAMMATORIES! as this decreases/voids the effectiveness; the fat cells need to swell and the meds may affect that.  I was told the more swelling the better, that means the fat cells are getting affected & the area may feel a little hard.

Drs offc also said NO HOT SHOWERS, SAUNAS, HOT BATHS, ETC for the first 48 hrs. lukewarm water is ok.
No massaging of the area.
No tight, constricting clothes the first couple weeks.

drink lots of water (the usual daily recommended amt) to help flush out the dissolved fat
'
DAY 1
'
(i took day off; about 2 1/2 hrs after procedure, i got REALLY HOT, SWEATY, DIZZY, VOMITED, HAD DIARRHEA, then i stripped to cool down under the fan. This Happened 2x, each time about 30 minutes after I tried to eat a light meal. it lasted only a couple minutes, but you DO NOT want to be driving-I could not stand my dizziness was that bad;...already started bruising quickly but I probably didn't drink enough water before the procedure
...stayed home in bed rest of day to take it easy on the body
...sore, very bruised feeling, difficult to go from sitting to standing, or rolling on side...this subsided by the next day
...was able to hold down some broth/onion soup later in the evening;

Day 2
...was still sore but I was able to take acetaminephen (since it's not an anti-inflammatory) for the discomfort. I wore loose clothes & lounged.

Day 3
...back to work on Monday, wore stretchy skirt & very sheer, non-tight pantyhose. & a baggy shirt..still very bruised but healing (it looks worse when healing) and soreness is very much improved.  I can change positions with minimal discomfort. lower abs still frightfully pot-bellied but it is less pregnant-looking than it was on day 1...

Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum.  I had my first treatment done exactly one week ago on my lower abs and still have swelling.  Have any of you guys experienced this?  I am suppose to get treatments under my chin as well as lower abs again and am feeling pretty nervous about the chin part.  I am wondering how long the swelling will last for the under chin.

HI.... I LIVE OVER HERE ON THE BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII. I BEGAN LIPO-DISSOLVE TREATMENTS IN LATE MAY. BOUGHT 3 TREATMENTS.  PAID $1500.00 FOR A SERIES OF 3 TREATMENTS. 5 ULTRA SOUNDS CAME WITH EACH INDIVIDUAL SESSION. I HAD MY 3 AND FINAL TREATMENT THIS PAST THURSDAY. FOR ME AFTER EACH TREATMENT I GET VERY NAUSEATED. NOT ALOT OF PAIN AS MY DOCTOR MIXES LIDOCAINE IN WITH THE MEDICATION FOR MORE COMFORT. AND THE INJECTIONS ARE GIVEN TO MY AREAS AFTER TOPICAL MEDICATION TO NUMB THE AREA. I GET EACH SESSION BROKEN UP INTO 2 AREAS. (SUCH AS IDENTICAL AREAS LEFT AND  RIGHT). I GET 50 INJECTIONS TO EACH AREA. YES.... 100 SHOTS PER TREATMENT. I SWELL UP A GREAT DEAL AND EVEN MORE THEN A MONTH LATER I AM STILL SWOLLEN IN MY 1ST TREATMENT SITE. I HAVE VERY VERY LARGE LUMPY LINES RUNNING UP UNDER MY RIB CAGE AREA ON BOTH SIDES REMAINING FROM MY VERY 1ST TREATMENT. I HAVE NOT REALLY HAD ANY LUMPING FROM THE LAST TWO TREATMENTS. I AM PAYING FOR ADDITIONAL ULTRA SOUNDS TO THE LUMPY AREAS TO TRY AND SPEED UP THEIR DEPARTURE...LOL I HAVE LOST PROBABLY CLOSE TO 10 POUNDS SO FAR AND I AM STILL SWOLLEN. BUT BECAUSE EACH WAS DONE WITHIN A FEW WEEKS OF ANOTHER I WILL PROBABLY PURCHASE ANOTHER 3 TREATMENTS 3 OR 4 MONTHS DOWN THE ROAD ONCE ALL OF MY SWELLING IS GONE AND WE CAN SEE WHAT I NEED. MY PAIN IS ALWAYS QUITE BAD THE FRIST NIGHT AND NEXT DAY AFTER THE TREATMENT. THE MEDICATION IS VERY DEHYDRATING AND SO YOU MUST DRINK ALOT OF WATER. I GET VERY NAUSEATED. WEAK AND SOMETIMES THINK I WILL PASS OUT...LOL  BUT BY DAY 3 I ALWAYS FEEL MUCH BETTER THOUGH STILL QUITE SWOLLEN.  ANYBODY AGREE WITH THE WAY I HAVE BEE FEELING? AND I HAVE NUMBNESS YET AS WELL. DOCTOR SAID IT WILL IMPROVE AS MORE OF THE SWELLING IS GONE.

HI THERE. YOUR DOCTORS OFFICE SAID NO CONSTIRTIVE GARMENTS? I AM CONFUSED NOW BECAUSE MY DR.S OFFICE SAID TO WEAR A COMPRESSION GARMENT (A GIRDLE LIKE CONTRAPTION FOR 10 DAYS TO 2 WEEKS)  PERHPAS THIS IS WHY I AM LUMPING UP SO BADLY. I THOUGHT THAT PERHAPS BEING WITHOUT A COMPRESSION GARMENT MIGHT ALLOW THE FAT TO DISSOLVE AND LEAVE THE BODY MORE QUICKLY THEN IF BUNCHED UP TIGHTLY IN GARMENTS. I FELT BETTER WITHOUT IT. PERHAPS GIVEN THESE HORRIBLE LUMPS I SHOULD SEE IF THEY IMPROVE WITHOUT THIS GOD AWFUL RUBBER GARMENT...LOL  NOT TO MENTION THAT IT IS VERY HOT TOO. WHILE MOST OF THE COMMENTS I HAVE HEARD WERE MORE SIMILAR THEN DIS-SIMILAR..... THE COMPRESSION GARMENT ISSUE IS DEFINATLY CONFLICTIVE. HOW ABOUT THE REST OF YOU? WHAT DID YOUR DOCTORS SAY?

Day 5

I had my 2nd laser treatment on Monday (the first was done right after the injections), the laser supposedly helps to liquefy? the fat & also help with lumps?  My bruises started looking much better after the 2nd  laser treatment and the hardness i was feeling in one part is much better.  Dr said i might need to get a 2nd (lipodissolve) treatment to get better results but will see after my 6 weeks followup checkup.  I am glad he isn't pushing more treatments, but i think that's 'cause that isn't his main practice.

still a bit swollen, not back to normal, but no other swelling in odd places and no other side effects yet.

LEKILI6B, I also saw conflicting info on the boards, especially with the compression garment. I think the dr I saw takes note of side effects their patients report. it may be ok to wear later, but i also didn't want to take any chances with lumpiness and i thought it made more sense not to wear tight clothes the first few days.  one assistant in the dr's offc had it done & so she was also able to go into detail about what to expect.

she was very pleased with the procedure as well.  I see alot of comments on the board that some places offer packages.  Makes me wonder what is in some of those other injections and if it is diluted in some way.

dr's offc really stressed not taking anti-inflammatories, but tylenol is fine.  apparantly the 1st 48 hrs are really important

the lady i work with had some lumps but the dr gave her 2 more laser treatments (about $50 each i think) and she massaged the lumps in warm water in the shower and it smoothed out.  the lasers must help break up the lumpiness, but it's only been a week, so i havent had that yet.   other thing she told me was to drink lots of water as this helps with flushing the fat out.

she also said she notices she is still losing inches and that is takes about 3-4 weeks before you start to notice a difference, and that it keeps working and by week 6-8 you really see a difference.  she lost 8 lbs also, & lady at dr's offc lost 13.

I am also doing Nutrisystem and will try to start excercising soon, hope that helps the process.

LEKILI6B, btw i live in Florida so I understand about being hot in those garments! the dr's offc said some ladies go "commando" as it's more comfy.  I agree with that, it is more comfy!

i'll update later this week.

by LEKILI6B, Jul 05, 2007 09:30PM
THANKS SCYLLA.... MY DOCTOR DOES ULTRA SOUND TREATMENTS BEFORE AND AFTER AN INJECTION TREATMENT. PERHAPS THE LASER IS MORE EFFECTIVE? I MUST ASK HIM ABOUT THIS. I GO FOR ANOTHER ULTRA SOUND TREATMENT THIS SATURDAY. MY LUMPS ARE IN THE FRONT UNDER MY RIBS (BOTH SIDES) AND FEEL AS IF I HAVE A HUNK OF ROPE UNDER THE SKIN IN BOTH AREAS. THESE I WANT GONE AND I THINK I WOULD SEE A HUGE DIFFERENCE THEN. AT ONE POINT AFTER MY 1ST TREATMENT I HAD LOST 7 LBS. BUT AFTER TREATMENTS 3 AND 4 I AM STILL  QUITE SWOLLEN.

Day 9

Spoke to the lady I work with. She said when she noticed a couple of lumps, she took hot bath daily (as hot as she could stand it) and  massaged it deeply.  The heat apparently helps with the breakdown.  She said she could not see the lump, only felt it (like a hard golfball size) and she also got 2 more laser treatments which helped.

I took a super hot bath, massaged a hard spot (not yet a lump) and soaked about 30 minutes.  Later I noticed the hard spot was much softer; I also had to go #1 a couple more times than usual (stuff was getting flushed out I hope!) and swelling was down more.

Swelling is now down to about the size where I started.  Lady I work with said she really started to first notice her decreases at about 3-4 weeks and then it just kept going down.  I actually can tell she lost some inches, I forgot to ask her how much though.  She definitely wants to go back for another treament in a different area.

I noticed I do not have such an unsightly bulge under my bra strap (around the underarm/side of breast area) that I used to! The abdominal area (just beneath the breast cleavage) is also flatter.  No decrease in actual boobage size thank goodness, as my cup does not runneth over!

I figure I should start seeing results in next couple weeks.

Anyone else seeing good results yet?

Will post again in a week!

I STILL HAVE THE LARGE LUMPS. AND SOME NEW ONES TO BOOT FROM MY LAST RTEATMENT. THEY SEEM TO BE RUNNING INTO EACHOTHER. I WILL TRY THE HOT BATH TOMORROW NIGHT. I HAVE USED A HEATING PAD AND A THERMAL MASSAGER TOO. NOT MUCH RELIEF FROM THOSE. BUT I WILL TRY ANYTHING. I DO THINK THAT ONCE THE LUMPS ARE GONE THAT I WILL SEE BIG RESULTS. STILL JUST VERY SWOLLEN.

This sounds great - even though you have to go through some pain to get results.  Can anyone recommend a place to have lipodissolve in the Northern Virginia area?  Thanks!

I just had lipodissolve done for the 2nd time.  I waited 6 weeks in between treatments and am focusing on my upper and lower abdomen.  The first day I swelled up within an hour of leaving the office and within 24 hours I looked to be five months pregnant and my stomach was pretty tender.  All this went away within 48 hours and I didn't have any other side effects.  By my second treatment I had lost an inch and a half off of my abdomen and even my stretched skin has tightened up.  I can't wait to see the results after this second treatment.  If any of you can travel to Cape girardeau, Mo for your treatments it is well worth it.  You only pay 250.00 for your stomach area and that is the upper and lower combined and each additional treatment is 200.00.  Also he gives 100 shots to each injected area and uses the same ingrediants everyone else has.

I'm so glad that I found this forum. I just started LipoDissolve yesterday - my first injection. I'm trying to shrink my lower abdomen.  The pain did remind me of the recovery from my C-section birth of my 2 year old. Althought they explained it, the swelling is somewhat disappointing, especially since this is the area that I want to shrink, not enlarge! I am still very hopeful.

I, too, wondered: WHAT THE HELL HAVE I DONE??? especially last night when the Tylenol started to wear off. They were very vague regarding how many injections I will need. Since I paid $2400 up front, I guess I should demand 7-8 (based on my results of course).

I tried to read through all of the comments, but just in case I missed it: IS EVERYONE REALLY HAPPY WITH THEIR RESULTS?????  On this side of the process, I really need to know this so that I stay encouraged.

i've done a lot of research and i have found that doctors sometimes do mesotherapy but call it lipodissolve.  they are quite different.

the reseach i've done shows you should see a result after 1 treatment if its lipodissolve.

i had a consult with a doctor the other day who i discovered is doing mesotherapy but calling it lipodissolve, not very ethical!

i am seeing another doctor next week who i hope actually uses the correct drugs. i'm terrified though. for those who'v had it would you recomend it???

you can see more at my personal site

hey jeannie.  It's not quite true that if it's lipodissolve you'll see results after one treatment.  I didn't see a darn thing until about 5 weeks after my second treatment.  Mesotheraphy can consist of many different ingredients and herbs.  You just don't know what you're getting.  Lipodissolve is made up of 2 main ingredients called PCDC for short.  I'm not even going to try to spell the full names.  When you check into this, just ask what is in their formula.  Anyway, I've lost a significant amount of fat, 3.5 inches.  The swelling, bruising, etc are definitely worth it.  The discomfort doesn't last that long.  Much better than the surgery I was looking in to.  I'm now thinking about doing another area.

Lipodissolve doesn't work that quickly.  It takes at least 2-3 treatments to see results because the doctors change the formula each time.  I work performing these treatments and they never give you the full dosage the first time because you could have an allergic reaction.  Lipodissolve is made up of soy, yohimbe, and a diuretic, usually plant extract.  Some use hyaluronic acid for cellulite dissolve.  Mesotherapy uses triac (RX) that speeds up heartrate, metabolics...this is what makes you nauseous and sick, throwing up!  Make sure you ask what's in the injections.  Lipodissolve does not use triac!

I just had my first treatment on Tuesday (7/24) on my inner thighs and I'm very glad I read this board before I did it. I had pretty much all of the side effects--burning, stinging, thighs swelling up like balloons, nausea, and soreness. The swelling has gone down significantly (although it did spread out from the injection site to the outer parts of my thighs and down to my knees), but for a few days I was walking funny. I also had mild bruising, kind of yellow-y/pink color that was all over the swelled areas.  I have mild lumps and the area is still a little numb, but I'm guessing that's normal. I spent most of the first two days sitting on ice bags and wondering "what the hell have I done??". I have my second treatment in 4 weeks and I'm hoping everything is back to normal by then.
I wanted to do my outer and inner thighs, but the nurse said my outer thighs are more fibrous tissue that just wouldn't dissolve like the inner thigh fat would. She recommended Velasmooth for the outer thighs; anyone tried this?

Hi im actually will be going to my first treatment next Wednesday.  They told me i would need maybe 3 treatments each to my lower and upper abdomen a total of 8 syringes for each area.  I weight 115 and about 5’1”. I wear a size 7 in pants maybe want to go down to size 5.  I just want to lose a few inches on my waist. I do have little extra weight on my stomach area and small love handles.  I just want to flatten that down.  I don’t know if I should buy the whole package since they claim I need 3 treatments in each area and of course its more money or just do each area and wait to see if I need to continue to my second treatment. I know they are just sales people and want to sale you more.  Do you think maybe I just need one treatment for each area or should I buy the whole package? And   I also would like to hear about experience people have had when they are just wanting to lose a little inches on there waist and how many treatment they had to do.

I got my first treatment done yesterday--I'm about 30 hours out, and I feel like I have a huge basketball on my abdomen.  The pain was far worse than I thought it would be.  She told me I would have stinging/burning for 45 minutes afterwards---it was more like 4-5 hours.  I called into the office today and asked if this is normal, am I going to have to buy maternity clothes until all my treatments are finished?  I'm wondering... "what have I done?".

I just scheduled an appointment for next week to get my first lipodissolve treatment on my lower abdomen. I'm really nervous about this after reading about all the swelling side effects. This really worries because I don't want anyone to really know that I've had a procedure done. Is the swelling really noticable to others or only to me? And how long will the swelling last?

I think it depends on the area, the person and the amount of shots you get to determine how much swelling you get. For most people, it seems like the swelling is within the first 1-6 days and then it starts going down. My nurse told me it's different for everyone (some swell and go down in 48 hours, some swell out beyond the injection sites, like me, and it takes a little longer to go down), but she said I shouldn't expect to see significant results until a few weeks after my second treatment. I'm one week out from my first treatment, but I'm still checking my thighs every day to see if I notice any difference!
Anyone who has done their thighs, how long were you sore? I'm still extremely sore and I get big throbs of pain in one thigh every once in a while. I'm wondering if that's normal or if I started exercising again too soon? I can move around fine, but I'm just really sore.

I have a question. I am doing the b12/lipotropic shots to help me loose weight. I know that these lipodissolve shots work from reading what i have, but why do yall do it? It is so much pain for such a little result! Ok, you get one area done and four weeks later you go again and find out you lost 5lbs and 3"...(just an ex), while keep in mind you're in pain for at lease 1 week, plus the swelling, and bruising. While i go 2 times a week, get a shot (which doesn't hurt at all, and cause no after pain) i take a pill to help with my appetite, and i eat the right foods, and i loose 3-6 lbs per week. And not to mention, it cost less, and works faster. I just don't understand why? I'm not here to put anyone down, but i know i just couldn't do that! I wanna loose my weight very badly, and these shots im getting are getting me to my goal, and i do believe im doing it in a way to where i am learning a new way to eat healthy, so the weight will stay off.  i also looked into liposution last year and i almost did it! I really think from the people i know who have done liposuction, i'd rather do that before these lipodissolve shots! It may be a more money, but once you heal up, thats it... no more going thru it! Well, i jsut wanted to give my oppinion! I know it doesn't matter to anyone, but i hate to see anyone go through pain when there are easlier ways! (not to metion b12/lipo shots make you feel great all day...great mood, energy, and awake, and ready to go!) Good luck to all, and i hope you all get to your goals!!!! :)

For me, I have tried every machine at the gym, every diet, every exercise in the world that is supposed to help you tone your inner thighs and for years, nothing has worked. I am pretty thin and it's probably not a noticeable amount of flab, but it's always been there and it's always bothered me. It's not enough to justify the cost of liposuction (and I don't like going under anesthesia), so I did Lipodissolve. I'm doing it to finally get rid of those small pockets of fat that I couldn't get rid of any other way and I'm doing it for me to notice and be happy with, not so others will notice.
I guess it's a vanity thing, but I can live with that!  :-)

My girlfiend did lipodissolve and combination of mesotherapy. Also the doctor gave her lipotropic injections. She really did not have to lose much weight but did it becuase she had some love handles and cellulite in her buttock area. After three treatments you could see results and after 6 she looked awesome. The Dr. did not charge that much and price was reasonable. He did he stomach, thighs and buttock area for $250 a treatment including her lipotropic injection. I would give him a call, if you are ever located in Beverly Hills. His names is Dr. Kerendian

Hi all!

Been busy with final exams, and now that's over, I'm taking a break!!
Update:
-had my 1st treatment on 6/29/07...am at about 4 weeks out from 1st treatment
-I've noticed some slight decrease, but I have been eating REALLY BAD! (chips,
chocolate, serious carbs & fat because I've been under major stress from school!)
-I've been fortunate, no lumps or bumps to date! (see my prior posts)...I have been occasionally soaking in HOT baths! this must've helped...
-my coworker (still noticably slimmer) is telling me I really need to be drinking the
standard 8-10 glasses of water per day as this helps flush out the broken up fat cells
...she said she got discouraged initially as she did not see any noticle difference for
a few weeks, then somewhere around 8-10 weeks she said it got really noticeable
all of a sudden - so all of you hang in there...I'm still waiting, too...
-I got a list of foods to avoid from the dr to increase the effectiveness of the
Lipodissolve - common sense stuff really, but I HAVE NOT been good! my
coworker said however that the fat does not come back as fast though...we'll see,
   I've been pretty piggy lately....
*basically the list says to avoid foods with high fat content (nuts, oils, cheese, chips,
cream, mayo, pork, pretzels, etc.   ...avoid high caffeine liquids like tea, coffee,
soda, chocolate....avoid sugars and alcohol...diet should be high protein, low carb,
    & no :high-sugar" vegetables...excercise of course...lots of water...
*I just went to Vegas, too, so I obviously did every no-no regarding the food - I plan
   on getting back on the proper diet wagon on Friday for the next 4 weeks at least;
I'll let ya'll know if there is any shrinkage cominhg on after I get back on the
   bandwagon...
--FYI, I do still notice slight sensitivity in my abdomen (like if I lean against something)
so don't be surprised at that...I figure I will give it a good 8-10 weeks to see if there
is a noticeable difference at that time... I'll keep ya'll updated & post again
   in about 2 weeks

** EVERYBODY KEEP POSTING YOUR PROGRESS, SO WE CAN TRACK HOW
WELL THIS WORKS FOR EVERYONE! (although I am pretty sure I'll get a 2nd
treatmnt on my abs done after end of August...then I want my inner thighs &
butt...then maybe my armpit/bra strap area....)

Just an FYI,

I had initially researched the Lipodissolve & found my dr (who was also referred by my coworker, but I decided to definitely go to him after I found him on this site:  THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF AESTHETIC LIPODISSOLVE, LLC,
--there's also articles (click on the "news" tab)...
'
re: LD vs. liposuction, I personally chose LD because I felt it was less invasive than getting fat sucked out (have you SEEN how dr's jab those suction tubes in & out?)...my dr said LD was more gradual, and the fat reduction was more evenly distributed, whereas with Lipo suction, it could cause uneven pockets and rippling, etc.  Also, LD has supposedly been used to even out problem areas caused by uneven liposuction...my dr also uses a formula of PCDC, a mixture of phosphatidylcholine which was apparantly use by cardiologists for years to decrease fat in tissue around the heart...

I had my first treatment yesterday and am pretty sore. My question is about the bruising  - I had the flanks (love handles) done and it looks like I am really sunburned. I have a little bruise but nothing terrible, but each side is completely red. I haven't read about anyone turning red (color of a strong sunburn) in their injection area. Is this the bruising you are talking about? I know one s/e could be perm reddness of the skin but my MD hadn't seen that in any of his treated pts. I am in MN and did go to a Skin Care/Cosmetic clinic.

I did my inner thighs and they were pretty red for a few days and then it started to fade back to normal (although they were a little yellow for a few days, I think that was my bruising). I'm at day 8 after my first treatment and the swelling is pretty much all gone, but I'm still a little sore and have a few lumps, although they are not visible to the naked eye. And I think I'm seeing a little bit of a decrease in the fat already! Of course, this could be entirely due to the swelling going down, but I prefer to think I'm already shrinking.  ;-)
I'm doing my second treatment in a little over 2 weeks; I'm having them spaced 4 weeks apart and probably 4 treatments total, according to the nurse. The place I go to is great--no packages, just pay for each treatment and mine is only $140 each time. Even though the side effects are a little worse than I expected, I'm really glad I'm finally doing this for myself.

Hi, Would you tell me where your bought your injection?  I bought some online, received it from CHINA... and had a fit.  It was a total scam...hand addressed envelope, actual stamps, no instructions, bottles said made in Spain...I sent it back.  They have a very impressive website, but they are scammers.  I never even received an email conformation.
The Dr.s charge so much here and I wanted to do it myself.  Please any help.

I was doing the lipodissolve injections, I completed a total of 9 sessions with the lipo lazer and I only had a total of 1/2 inch lose in a years time.  I requested to have a refund, they submitted it and I am suppose to receive my refund in about 3 weeks.  I was really excited about the procedure and when I had no results I was very disappointed.  I hope that it works for you.

I am 5'5" 118 #'s  - 46 yrs old. Go to the gym 4 - 5 times per week. I have had 3 trouble areas all my life so decided to try LD @ FIG. I had my 3rd treatment 4 days ago. I am having my inner and outer thighs and lovehandles done. My first treatment was love handles only - they used strength - 10 ( 12 shots) . Wasn't bad at all. 3 weeks later they did all 3 areas - used stength -30 - ( 36 shots) OUCH!  4 weeks later ( 4 days ago) they used - strength - 40 - ( 42 shots) Double OUCH!  The shots themselves are pretty much painless...but does anyone know how much higher the strengths get? I think strength 40 is about all I can stand. I do find that ice packs right away help alot. I have a 1 hr drive home and keep ice on there ( move the packs around ) on the trip home and that soothes the burning. As for results - after the swelling went down - 2nd treatment - I could see a little bit of a difference. I was told at least 6 treatments for me -  The BAD swelling goes down within 48 hrs and wearing a compression garment helps alot in that 48 hr period - then I take it off. I do saturday treatments so by Monday I am fine. My bruising is minimal - I seem to get the worst bruising in my inner thighs. I start massage after day 2 and drink at least 64oz of water every day ( I'm told that is very important)   I sure hope this works :)

From what I heard on the phone consult today, they said not to expect any results with the first injection.  I was disappointed but I've seen the before and after shots and results of past lipodissolve patients and its worth it for me to undergo the series of treatments.  Try to be patient and let us all know if you see any difference.

I would love to hear how you lipodissolve treatments turn out.  I am having a consult with a fig center in Houston and am excited!!  I don't understand why some patients are seeing results after one injection but when I spoke to a CSR with fig, she said that I would not notice a difference after just one treatment.  This makes me think it would be less expensive to find a clinic that has proven results with lipodissolve after the first injection?  Hmm.... still researching.

I am going to the the FIG center - galeria area in Houston. I was told that one patiet did lose 2 inches on her stomach after the first treatment there. Not typical - but possible. I believe that if you are dieting along with the treatment that that is VERY possible. I am seeing results - slowly. I think if you space out your treatments that you see more results. For me the swelling is lasting longer with each treatment. Not so much that my clothes don't fit though. But I am betting that I see more results with this treatment - I will let you know! Good luck - which center are you using?

Hi
I had lipodissolve injections done on Friday morning, I found the injections themselves OK, I was given Percocet for pain relief and prochlorperazine for any nausea or vomiting and voltarol suppositiories for any burning pain I was also given a valium to relax me. I also had some numbing cream placed on me and I was wrapped up in clingfilm whilst I had my valium so the procedure itself was not very painful that what I had expected. I took all the pills on the friday after the treatment and found myself to be feeling dizzy when I stood up. I was also told to wear a tight garment or two for at least a week for the swelling.
The next day I decided it must be all these pills making me feel dizzy so I just stopped taking them and I felt the dizzyness go away, I was told to take the pills if I felt I needed them for any of those symptoms I felt very stiff and I had swelling, I had the injections on my flanks.
I did have some swelling going across my pubic bone and down one of my legs and this feels numb
I booked for another set of injections depending on the results of these and told to leave a 6 week gap. I would say that you need to give yourself 3 days of rest following this treatment especially the first day. Another thing which I was told was good for you was to drinks sports drinks so I have some Gatorade. I was told it can take weeks to see any results, I also noticed that urine had a different odour as well.

You might want to check out The Skin and Vein Laser Center in Houston for a free consultation.  I went to the FIG center located in the galeria area, but wanted to check around and gather more information.  FIG gave me a discounted price if I decided to sign up on the spot, but I wasn't ready to make a decision at that time.

I have really enjoyed this forum.  It has provided me with a lot of information on Lipodissolve and I'm just about ready to get started.

Thanks!

Hi there. I am Sarah. Im 32 123 lbs . Im not fat. Just have always had a belly and hip bulge since i can remember. No kids at all. So i decided to do the lippodissolve. The first treatment was just over a week ago. Im still a little sore but the swelling has gone down almost to normal. I cant see any results yet.
For anyone considering this, here is my experience.
They marked my lower abs with a marker in cross sections and the two lil sections on my sides as well. Then did like 40 injections. They hurt. Not so bad where there is a good amount of fat. More where there isnt as much. Once that was done i began to swell up immediately and felt a lil light headed. Once home my stomach became HOT tingly/stingy (which was ok) and swelled up like i was 5 months pregnant!!! Ive never seen anything like it! It was hard to bend or move. So laying down was the best plan. I had to go to work the next day. None of my pants fit. By morning i was still like 2x normal size and kind of freaked out. But apparently thats normal - something to do with your body producing collegen and means its working? They say to massage it frequently. Thats hard at first cause your very very bruised and sore. You can feel small lumpy sections which is kind of weird and slightly disturbing. You will think to yourself WHAT the HELL did I DO to myself!!?/? It feels like osmeone hit you with a shovel in the gut. But now here i am a week out and i am sore but normal sized again. so. I think next time will me (at least mentally) easier. I KNOW it will goback down. Amazing how vain we all are to put ourself through this ON PURPOSE! LOL
Ill keep you all posted.

Sarah

Can I just say I hate my doctor. I went in for lipo dissolve one week ago today, after no research which was stupid. Wish I had read this forum, because instead I trusted my Dr. who has offices in Edina, Eden Prairie and Woodbury Minnesota ( hopefully that exposes him) Basically he told me for side effects to expect a little soreness and bruising. Concerned about the bruising because I had two big important trips coming up, he said not to worry because after 4 days you could hide the bruising with makeup. That or the bruising would be gone. He never once mentioned swelling as a potential side effect. No one in his office mentioned it. It is not written on any of the pamphlets, brochures, or website. Now I see from reading this forum and other clinin websites that not only is it expected but a major part of the process. I had to cancel one trip. Now it looks like I will have to cancel the other. My neck was so swollen that even in a turtleneck ( in the middle of August!) you could tell. Major swelling in your neck ,imagine. One week and I still am hideous. I just really believe the Dr. should have mentioned it. After I sent him an e-mail , the clinic responded with a legal sounding yet anonymous e-mail saying that I signed a contract that indicated possible "intrapatient variabilities". Does anyone out there have a good recommendation for me in Minnesota? Thanks! I still might finish the process if I can find someone that is ethical for treatment two.

I have had 7 treatments and have gone to 2 clinics in the Minneapolis area. By far these places are so differant. I won't know if I see any real results until probably Oct. they say 8-10 for final results from your last treatment. I'll keep you guys posted.

1. Biggest advice is to ice before your treatment, bring your own ice packs if you need to. Also ask your doctor to pinch the skin at the injection site. Between these two you honestly don't feel the injections!

2. Research and call around, search the internet! The first place I went to I paid $2,000 for 3 treamtents. They told me $1600 but then charged me another 300-400 for suppliments I could have gotten at walgreens for $20.00! I now go to a location that charges $1100 for 4 treatments, the lady is wonderful!!! She will even perscribe a pain med if needed to get by your first 2 days or so. SHE IS WONDERFUL!

3. Yes there is a lot of swelling, but I will tell you this...if you get a repeat treatment usually within 4 weeks there is little to no bruising or pain afterwards (hips, don't know about anywhere else).

4. The most sensitive areas to treat are stomach (I will NEVER again do this area), and inner thigh...but inner thighs are tolerable. I'm usually down for a day and then ready to go. Hips I'm good the next day.

5. Hint... the key to this I've found is SLEEP. The day you have it done get about 14 hours of rest and you'll be amazed how quick you recover!!!

I'm going in for my treatment #8 tomorrow, I have 2-4 treatments left and then I'm D-O-N-E and can't wait to see the results in a few months!!!

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site, I read everyone's comments before I underwent lipodissolve treatments. I had my first treatment on Aug 16th. on my outer thighs only. the injections didn't hurt, but I'm not afraid of needles. Then about an hour later this severe burning sensation, redness, swelling and constant pain. I didn't take any tylenol, I'm not saying pain is good, but this will teach me a lesson, that I shoud not have eaten all those cookies, candybars, pizza, etc. :) Since this is costing me so much my dieting efforts have improved, lots of water, fish, chicken, apples, I have lost 5lbs, in 5 days (not due to the treatments) but that should pay off when all treatments are complete. The second day I could hardly walk, it hurt to move. the redness and swelling spread outside the lines the doc drew on my thighs. By day 3 there was less pain, the redness starts to fade to brown. I have more mobility, the swellling was the same, the nodules went away. I'm gonna skip to day 6, (today) slight coloring, but swelling the same, slight pain when I move, but if any pressure is applied it hurts. I have a massage appt on the 23rd, this is supposed to help, I'll let you know how that goes, then I have another lipo appt on the 31st and I can do 2 zones, so my outer thighs again and my butt. Its $1760 per zone, for 6 treatments. So $293 per visit. any more treatments after the 6th visit will only cost $100. I think its ridiculous that each zone costs that much, I can only afford these 2 zones. I don't know if this is a good deal.

6 treatments is a lot but you'll definatly see results. I never heard of a company mandating where you put your shots though. The outside of your thigh will get better everytime you do your treatment. The first time isn't pleasent but from there after its much easier. The butt will be more tender because you sit on it, its going to be hard to go to the bathroom as well. $293 per visit isn't bad do you know how many cc's they are injecting you with? It should be between 80-100 by your 2nd treatment.

I agree that going through the treatment teaches me to eat better! The hard thing for me with the cost being $1760 per area that is almost as much as Smart Lipo and that is less painful, and you see immediate results. If I were honestly going to do this all over again, I for sure would have invested in smart lipo instead of lipo disolve.

I signed up with fig, got my first injection last Thursday.  Oh my gosh has it been awful!  The pain, swelling, bloating, did I say pain?  I never expected this much pain.  It feels like someone punched me in the stomach.  They definitely play down the pain, swelling, bloating, pain, swelling....you get the picture.  And of course my stomach sticks out further than it did before! I am supposed to go back next week, I don't think I can do that.  They say 48 hours and your good to go!  NO WAY!!!!  I play tennis and I have been unable to even walk at a brisk pace because of the pain.  Bending over is painful, touching it is painful.  I did my upper stomach and can't imagine having tight fitting clothes touch it!

by taylorday, Aug 22, 2007 08:37PM
I had my first treatment July 21st.  I had one area - my wonderful "saddle bags " and the doctor went ahead and treated right underneath my buttocks.

The anticipation leading up to the procedure caused me more pain than the actual treatment.  It was much easier than I thought.  I received 60 injections on each  side and really only felt slight stinging at times, and I don't like needles.  So, this part was good.

I have been icing, heating, massaging.  The swelling was horrible the first 48 hours.  My thighs increased by 2 inches.  I am still swollen, itching, breaking out in hives.  I am trying to keep a positive attitude but am noticing NO difference.  It has been just over 4 weeks.  I have numbness in the areas of the injections and the nodules continue to move around.  They are almost gone.  But....

I returned for a second area to be treated - inner thighs.  I thought it best to wait and not rush things. The doctor agreed.  So, I return in 4 more weeks to try the 2nd treatment to my saddle area and underneath my buttocks.  I am 5'7 and weigh 140 lbs.  I work out regularly and eat well.  The size of the areas treated looked much better before the treatment.  I am a very impatient person and realize that several treatments may need to take place before noticing a difference but I am just hoping that someone else has experienced what I am now.  I really hope this works.  I am worried.

I was unaware that it has not been FDA approved.

I purchased 6 treatments - 2 areas (3 treatments each area) total cost $2,430.00.

by taylorday, Aug 22, 2007 09:21PM
Well, I just finished reading the remainder of comments some of you had.  But, there are not many on the inner/outer thighs.

I was not aware that the strengths change or increase with each treatement.  I will inquire with my Dr. and let you know what he says.  Also, he scheduled each area 8 weeks apart.  Everyone else seems to be getting their treatments very close together.  Wow!!

My injections, I think, were 1inch apart and 20 cc's per injection - 60 injections!

Oh and my doctor did tell me to stop with the ice.  That is only for the 48 hours following the procedure.  Any updates from anyone on your thighs???

Thanks

I am doing my inner thighs, although not as many injections as you. I had MAJOR swelling for almost 5 days before it started going down, numbness and pain (it almost felt like chafing) for a few weeks, and the nodules, too. I'm scheduling my treatments about 5-6 weeks apart and my second one is next week.
My nurse told me not to expect to see any results until a few weeks after the second treatment, I guess it takes 6-8 weeks for the fat to start dissolving away.
So I've pretty much had your exact experience; you aren't alone!

I have done my inner thighs twice, it is another sensitive area. Not quite as bad as the stomach but close. You need to find out what you are being injected with. You are not suposed to get anymore than 1cc per injection. and its true when you first start treatment you do get a lesser dose and gradually will increase the amount to be sure your body can handle the fluid.

The first two times I received injections I was throwing up in the middle of the night, in horrible pain, and lived on ice.

Now, my body is used to them. The pain is far less and I don't use ice anymore. In more sensitive areas such as the stomach and inner thigh I would for sure ask your doctor to perscribe a pain med such as vicoden or Tylenol 3. If they won't do it then I'd seek another doctor who would. There is no reason why anyone should be in a lot of pain when there are things out there that can help.

You do want your skin to swell, it sounds funny but that will assist with your skin tightening as you loose the fat. So, that is why doctor's would rather you not ice all the time and you can take IB Proffin the first day or so but not to take it all the time.

The nodules that you feel are a good thing. That is the fat cells expanding is my understanding. They will go away over 2-4 weeks.

Differant doctors schedule treatments differantly. The first place I went made me wait 4 weeks between treatments in a differant area and 8 weeks between treatments to the same area. The person I see now lets me come in once a week which I like much better. You can actually get it done again after 24 hours but I don't because its good to let your body heal.

I personally only do one area at a time....the reason being is that you can only be injected up to 100cc's per day. If you do 2 treatments they have to split the fluid between the two treatments which will slow your results for each area down. If you do one treatment at a time all the fluid goes into that one area so you'll see results faster and have less pain overall.  (4 treatments in one spot compaired to 8 treatments in 2 spots to get the same results).

I talk with my doctor a lot, and have done extensive research about this procedure. I'm not by any means an expert but I can honestly answer things that I have researched and gone through personally.

This is for sure not a painless procedure, you will be sore/in pain for 2-3 days but just know by day 3 when you wake up its a huge differance. You will be sensitive for a while but the majority of the pain is greatly diminished.

Does anyone know somewhere that's in Illinois and doesn't cost an arm and leg? Has anyone had this done that is overweight? I really want to have this done, I'm 5'4" and weigh 180lbs. When people guess my weight they think I'm around 40lbs lighter than I really am. All of my extra baggage is in my stomach area. I sit down at work, so I can take the pain and deal with the swelling. I just don't want to pay a fortune.

Thanks, Trish

Thank you!

And, I believe my cc's was a big mistype.  Sorry.  The amount was either 1/2 or 1 cc.  I will verify with my doctor when I go back September 15 for my second treatment on my outer.  I was suppose to alternate every 4 wks - inner/outer but I think I am going to go ahead and do a 2nd treatment on the same area first.

I still have visible bruizing - 5 weeks later.  The nurse told me to take midol into my 6th week if still swollen.  I haven't taken anything except the hydrocodone that they prescribed for me but that was only the first 48 hours.

I am not in any pain.  Except when the hives start!

Question:  Does this also dissolve and leave the body through your urine?

I am not very regular AT ALL and I wonder if this may also be why my progress on the swelling is taking longer to go down.  ???

I haven't had my menstrual cycle this month yet either.  My stomache has increased in size and has visible loose fat that wasn't there before - also on my back.  Am I halucinating??  I wonder if the injections can spread and or cause the fat cells to move.  My doctor told me at the initial treatment that it would only effect the area treated.  ??

I have been taking more HOT baths and have been focusing on the massage.  I belive these may be prolonging my bruising.

Its been 10 days, since my first injection on my outer thighs, I had a massage on the 8th day, whats important about this massage is that its done by a machine, kinda like a vacuum, it makes the blood come to the surface of the skin and moves the fat around, its probably better then massage by hand.

Pain is not really all gone, I am tender. swelling has only decreased slightly, its hard to tell. slight discoloration.

I also am curious about how the fat leaves the body. I am reading that book The Weight Loss Cure by Kevin Trudeau. He recommends using Extra virgin raw coconut oil as your fat of choice in cooking. Take 2 teaspoons a day. this is proven to stimulate metabolism, improve digestion and help release fat cells.

Also, raw organic apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon 3 times a day. to cook with or in salads, it also stimulates the metabolism and helps release stored fat cells....so I'm thinking, will this help expedite the process??  Of getting fat cells out?

I'm really interested in getting my inner thighs done as well. People suspect that area to be really painful during injections cause its so tender already, how was it for you? You said you got yours done for $140? Where did you go, what city are you from? And please update on your progress, thank you!

It actually wasn't painful at all to get the injections (maybe one or two hurt for a split second), it was the afterwards that was more painful. I think it may be a little more painful because my inner thighs still rub together against each other a bit, so that added to the chafing and the pain a bit. It's been a little over four weeks since my first injection and I'm totally back to normal with just a few nodules that are actually getting smaller now. I have my second round of injections on Tuesday, so we'll see if it's any easier the second time around. At least now I know all of the side effects and how to handle them!
I went to Plano Aesthetics in Plano, TX.

So close, yet so far! I'm down here in Houston. $140 is sooo cheap, I'm contemplating making the drive up there once a month. But the cost will probably be made up in travel. Thanks for the info though. How many injections did they do on each side, and how far apart were the injections from each other? How large was the area, I'm hoping to get it done from my knees to close to my bikini area. But I'm wondering since the area gets larger when you go higher, does the injected area look more like a triangle? Sorry for so many questions, I'm just curious to know what to expect and whatnot. Goodluck on tuesday!

I went for my 1st injections today and was totally surprised.  I was expecting the worst after reading everyone's comments.  I had my upper and lower stomach done and received about 10 to 12 injections in four different sections of my stomach.  Throughout the day, I have had a little pain, but nothing to complain about. I was told to wear a compressed garment (girdle) which I took with me and put it on as soon as she was finished.  I was told that the girdle will help a great deal and to drink plenty of water and cranberry juice.  The PA indicated that there would be some bruising, soreness and swelling, but the other side effects that were indicted in this forum; she stated that none of her patients have experienced any of them.  She told me that I could take Tylenol, but probably wouldn't need it and she was right so far.  I will start massaging the area tomorrow.  So far my experience has been great. My next visit is in two week.  I am getting a total of 6 injections.

If anyone has any questions for me, please let me know.

I had my first treatment 12 days ago and I'm still tender.  I had one area, upper stomach, and it hurts.  I had pain immediately and subsequently.  I did the girdle, took tylenol, iced, tylenol pm so I could sleep.  The injection sites are very tender to the touch, there is also numbness, pinkish coloration to the treated area and lumps under the skin.  I am not sure that I trust the clinic to shoot straight with me.  I went back in the day after my injection because I hurt so bad and they triple teamed me in the examination room.  I didn't stand a chance to get the truth.  If you do not hurt, the only thing I can determine is that I am in the 4% that can't tolerate the injections.

They say its slow and that results take 8-10 weeks.  Its my understanding that the fat is excreaed through bowel because they encurraged me to take fiber suppliments and each food high in fiber..but that is just a guess.

Hello all, I just got done at my consultation for lipodissolve. Me and my mother are going to get it done together, she is getting one area with six treatments and I am getting four areas with six treatments in each. My first treatment is 9/6 and I will go every week alternating areas(one area a month). I am really nervous and feel unprepared. I am unsure what I do before and after the procedure. For example, what do I do to prepare my body before(if anything) and what do I do after. I see that some were told to massage the area after also someone mentioned wearing a girdle?!? Also I heard you were only allowed to take Tylenol and other anti-inflammatory pills to ease the pain, what works the best and most effective?

Another question> When I signed up they offered a free microderm abrasion treatment or a teeth whitening treatment. I am unsure what a microderm abrasion is, should I get that?

I can only tell you what I have experienced.  I had my 1st injections yesterday and I am almost back to 100%.  I'm not working right now, but if I was employed, I would have been able to return to work with no problems.  I wear my girdle all the time.  I even sleep in it and it has paid off. The only time I take it off is when I go to the bathroom.

I never needed any Tylenol, but my PA told me I could take it if I had any pain.  She also said that I could use ice on the areas, but I haven’t needed to use ice. In addition to the girdle, I was also told to massage the area.  Before my visit I ate a meal that included a lot of protein (this is what someone else suggested to do). I don't know if it made a difference or not, but so far my experience has been a pleasant one.  One thing that I have noticed with my body is, from time to time I feel extremely hot. I guess you can call them hot flash.

I understand about the nervous feeling.  I was so nervous I almost didn't keep my appointment.  Before the PA started the injections, I pulled out my pad and pen and asked her a lot of questions that I got from this forum.  When she did the 1st injection, I didn't even feel it, but as she continued, they just felt like someone was sticking me with a pin.  My injections were on my upper and lower abs and the PA said it would be better if I stood up while she was administering the injections.  She also told me that I will see a change in the color of my urine and she was right because it now almost clear.  I have also noticed a change in my bowels.  I read from another patient that the fat is excreted through the urine and bowels.

After the 3rd day I will be able to take hot baths and I'm really looking forward to it.  As I mentioned in one of my previous comments, the PA stated I needed to drink a lot of water and cranberry juice.  I hope this information helps you.  Good luck to you and your mom!

I am also in MSP and am seeing a husband and wife team in Edina. I have been seeing the husband and really like him. He has been very forth coming with information and calls me back when I call the office with questions. Next week I am going to have my 1st treatment on my lower abs and the following week will have my 3rd treatment on my flanks. The swelling is still shocking to me and I am still bruised but I am 'rushing' my treatments because of a wedding and trip (every 2-3 weeks). Your doctor was very unprofessional to not talk to you about the side effects of this treatment especially if he knew you had trips planned. I explained to my doctor about a wedding I am in as well as a trip to Belize and he told me that we can start but will have to finish the treatments after these events. I thought that was fair and honest.

I met my trainer yesterday and measured and I have lost 3 inches in my hips.  I was not expecting to see results this early, but I am so excited about the measurements and my shirts fit so much nicer around my hips. I will agree with other posters that this treatment option has kept me accountable with exercise and diet. It is a lot of money to just sit around and eat cookies.

Good luck with the rest of your treatments and hopefully you can redo your trips soon.

It has been 2 weeks since my first injection.  I am still sore, still swollen, very tender to the touch.  They say this is normal, I decided to try another treatment because I have already been charged for the entire treatment and there are NO REFUNDS from fig.  I am not sure if I am having a normal reaction.  Some of you have no problems at all, others a bit, but mine has been down right painful!  I wish I knew if I'm just a pansy!

delato, I don't think you're a pansy! I was sore and tender for almost 4 weeks after my first injection and by the fifth week it was totally gone. I just did my second treatment on Tuesday and while I still swelled up like a balloon, I was only in pain for the first 24 hours or so. I think the second treatment is much easier than the first, if that helps at all.

AmBeRbOcK, my nurse told me to eat a high protein meal a few hours before and take Tylenol (not aspirin or Advil) about an hour before you go in. She also said to drink tons of water afterwards and I've found that immediately icing the area when you get home and getting lots of sleep helps, too.

I go in for my 1st treatment on Tuesday (lower abs & saddlebags). I have to drive about an hour to get home. Do you think that's safe? Also, I work as a food server - very active job. This treatment is no problem because I won't be working next week but what about my 2 future treatments? Will I be able to work on Wed if I get treatment on Fri? & will I be able to fit into my uniform?

The treatments affect each person differently.  After my 1st treatment (lower & upper abs), I was able to drive home with no problem. The next day I was fine and could have gone to work if I had a job.  On the other hand, there are people who have the injections and are unable to go to work the next day.  It's kind of hard to predict how your body will react to the injections.  Just see how the 1st one goes and make a decision then about going to work after the 2nd and future treatments.

Be sure to take your girdle with you for your 1st treatment and put it on right after you get your injections.  Trust me it will help. It will also help you get into your uniform if you have a lot of swelling. Let us know how it goes and good luck!

Definitely not a pansy.  I am no longer in pain but I have just approached 6 weeks since my first treatement - saddle bags.  I am still swollen and tender.  I have massaged, hot baths, working out 5 days a week, cutting out alcohol and sweets.  I couldn't pull my jeans up over my hips a few days ago and definitely had an emotional break down.  Yes, some may laugh, but it is discouraging when you can not wear your clothes.  My doctor is out of the country right now.  I have paid for 6 treatments up front.  I don't mind continuing with the treatments hoping that I will see results.  I do understand that it takes 4 to 5 treatments for it to take effect; however, I thought by now that I would at least be back to the size and shape I was before the treatment.

The questions I have left for my doctor:
Is it possible that the solution injected gets "stuck" or will not dissolve 100%?

I am trying to remain optomistic because I do truly believe in mind over matter.  Maybe it is just taking longer for my body to breakdown the solution.

I hope this has not been discouraging to you.  I am only trying to share that you are not alone.  I was upset after reading everyone's comments - happy for them of course - because they all seem to be seeing excellent results.  But most have gotten their abdomen area treated and I have heard that it is a much quicker area to heal.  So....

I am scheduled to return from my second treatement 9/15.  I also, was suppose to alternate my inner and outer thigh areas every 4 weeks but decided to hold off on my inner.  Reason:  I have purchased a package of 6 treatments.  If it takes 4 to 5 to notice a difference, I'd rather get one area done and completely let it heal before deciding to go to the next.

I have also requested from my doctor the exact make up of the solution so I can get another doctor's opinion and also research exactly what each chemical does inside your body besides what everything tells us on the internet.

Goodluck.  And please keep me posted on your progress.

I am new to this group but I wanted to join because I work at a Med Spa that provides lipodissolve. I am hearing a lot of mixed messages about the procedure and I feel that there are a lot of
misconceptions about this procedure.

1) It is not for obese people. You will not lose pounds you will lose inches. If your expectations are really high then I'm sorry to say you may be disappointed.

2) The treatments are best done 6-8 weeks apart, any sooner is too quick. Maximum results from your procedure are not even expected until this time. Don't let high volume clinics rush you into your
next appt.

3) You will be swollen no matter what, everyone reacts differently and from what I have seen the swelling goes down after 3-7 days. Most people have lumps or nodules below the skin, this is completely normal and they will eventually go away.

4) The main ingredient in the Lipodissolve solution is Phosphatidylcholine, which is derived from soy. This solution is not regulated by the FDA because it is considered a nutritional supplement and the FDA does not concern itself with supplements (just like the vitamins you buy at Wal-Mart). Someone would have to spend a considerable amount of time and money in order to patent this
product and get it approved by the FDA and this is not likely.

5) We can only inject 100 cc of solution into a patient at any one time. This is the reasoning for multiple treatments in numerous sites. The more solution you get the better your results but the worse your side effects will be (i.e. swelling, diarrhea).

6) Swelling is best handled with plenty of ice and a compression garment of some sort. But please DO NOT leave your ice on for extended periods, I tell all my patients 15min on and 15min off. This is to avoid tissue damage due to cold exposure.

I hope this helps clear up a few misconceptions for everyone.

Hi Everyone, I rec'd my first treatment on August 22nd (lower abs). I was very swollen and sore for the first two days. I am still a bit sore to the touch but have resumed my normal activites, gym, cheer mom, etc. I am really looking forward to seeing results. My next appt is Sept 7th. After reading this board it seems that it may be too soon. I am not sure. I really appreciate reading everyones experience and advise. Lets keep it updated so we can share our results!!

I had my second visit to the clinic on Aug 31st.  I recieved a second treatment on outer thighs and first treatment on my butt. Thats right, I'm actually standing here typing this. :P   It was only 2 weeks between treatments, so the doc decided to wait 3 weeks for my next one. which I think is better than 2 weeks between, because I was still swollen and tender, so the shots hurt more.

by Bunny Bunny, Sep 04, 2007 06:31PM
I completed the 2nd treatment. LOVE THE RESULTS already. Anyone get any weird side effects? I dont think I have been drinking enough water. I was kind of weak and woozy the other day. Any others in a similar situation, so I dont feel like the only one.

Hi,

I had my first treatment today, and have to say I feel terrible, It's really painfull and they told me to not take any kind of ibuprofen. The area around my belly button is numb, and the worst pain is on my upper stomach.  I have 4 weeks before my second treatment and honestly I'm glad about that I'm not ready to feel that every 2 weeks. Right now I have disconfort when I'm walking, I feel so bloated.

Hi, I am currently using Fig. They were very professional and explained everything well. I had already done a lot of research. Nurses administer the shots, and everyone there seemed to have loved the results.

It's been almost 24 hours now, this morning when I woke up I had this weird feeling everything get very white around me and my head feel compressed, I had just enough time to lie down again. it tooks me just 3 or 4 minutes to feel better but that was scary.  The swelling looks better but it spreaded to my pubic bone, the rash looks like heeling too. I have a little bruise but it's really nothing. If I don't move I don't feel any pain, walking (beside of the weird felling my stomach is going to fall on the ground) is not as painfull than yesterday. The difficult part is passing from sitting to walking. I noticed if I stay for too long seating after moving is a real pain so today I'm going to try to do a little around the house.
I don't understand why they didn't offer me some pain killers, the tynenol doesn't do anything. I d'dn't sleep much this night. I'm glad other people shared their experience here, I feel less worry. (thank you)

Last thing I  want to say, I read a lot than this procedure has been used for long in Europe I  originally came from there, and I never heard about it before, I asked my friend in Europe and nobody knows this treatment. ????

Thanks for responding ... are you going to do it? What price did they quote you? And, I don't know if you'll be able to answer this but if anyone can, I'd appreciate it ... if your target is the side of your hips, does that count as 2 areas? I'm talking about a 4-5" area....thanks...

After reading everyones comments and the side effects not to mention the pain everyone is enduring ,everyone has posted enough for me to steer away from this stuff.Im affraid this will be like botox or restlyn ,constant maintance.also this has been around for years in other countries but there has been no known side effects ,im affraid thoses who are currently using it will be the ones who pay in the end from the side effects.I guess i will just stick to sit ups and healthy eating, this stuff sounds scary and everyone on site sounds like junkies wanting to give themselves shots and getting it overseas!I think one day there will be commercials by attorney's about this stuff saying if you ever used lipodissolve please call us .I wish everyone the best and good luck with your outcome to a more beautiful new you ...

How far apart can you get the treatment? I had my 1st one on Tues, it's now Thurs & I feel pretty good but I do not want to rush it. I have a physical job so I have to schedule so I don't feel bad at work. Can it be more than 8 weeks apart? Also I've gained 2 lbs since the treatment. Is that normal?

I'm an employee at fig., and the sides of your hips will count as 1 area.  I've had the backs of my arms done, and I am thrilled with my results.  I've just started reading these blogs, so if anyone has any questions, I'm happy to respond or try to find the answers.  I work at the corporate office and would encourage anyone to call to schedule a free consultation at one of our centers to discuss your specific medical/procedural questions, but as far as the safety and effectiveness of Advanced Lipodissove, I am confident that fig. has the highest standards for the quality of our product and the protocols for treatment.  And since I've had such great success with my treatments, I know first hand that it really works!  My arms actually look slim now, and before they were really flabby in the back.  I hope you give fig. a chance to help you, and look forward to hearing about your experience.

I had to lower abs done on tuesday, I really feel better today (less sore) I can almost walk normaly. But the swelling didn't improve at all, at the level of my pubis bone it's awful I was wondering if it was normal ?
Maybe running will help to eliminate or some detox tea ??? Any advices to help on the swelling part will be great, all my clothes are to small right now, even my underwears

Oh last thing, my skin is kind of yellowish in the area of the injections, did anyone experience that ?

My treatments are every two weeks (6 sessions total).  I had my 2nd session today and since I am not having any major problems, I will continue going every two weeks as they recommended. How far apart did they tell you your treatments should be?  I have seen where some people are going every two, four, six or even eight weeks.  You should discuss this with your doctor's office.

I didn't gain any weight.  Are you drinking a lot of water?  I am so sick of drinking water, but I know this is something that I have to do.  Keep me inform on how you are doing.  I havn't seen much of a change myself, but it's only been two weeks.

I have already had my first treatment and my second is this afternoon. According to BJoy the hips count as one area. To answer your question, I am having four areas done, upper, lower abs and love handles ( not sure if love handles counts as one). Anyway, it was expensive. But I can justify the cost, as much money as I have spent in the gym. I am 5'3 and 138lbs. I am so excited and can't wait to see the results!

I had my inner thighs done, but I had the yellowish skin and the swelling that expanded into other areas. Was this your first treatment? For me, the swelling went down after about a week and the yellow took about 10 days to go away, but it all did eventually go back to normal. I didn't work out any harder (I was too sore) but I did drink a ton of water and massaged the area, so maybe that will help.

I did my second treatment 11 days ago and it was soooo much easier the second time. I was only in pain for 24 hours and the swelling wasn't nearly as bad and went down in about 3 days. I still haven't seen much reduction yet, but it's only been a little over six weeks since my first treatment and the nurse said not to expect to see results until at least 8-10 weeks. I wish time would move a little faster!

The Dr told me 4-6 weeks apart. I'm trying to figure out timing because I have a vacation, then the Christmas holidays, so I don't want to feel bad around those times of course. It looks like just over 8 weeks apart is good for my schedule. I guess that is OK? I am trying to drink a lot of water, even though my Dr said nothing about that - I got tips from here to do that. Weight is still up.

Thanks for your answer, I feel less worried now,  Yes it was first treatment. The swelling is much better I could even compress myself in some clothes :-), this morning.

This morning I ran 2 miles, did some abs and lifted some weight. I am glad to return to my morning routine so quickly. Oh I forgot what a surprise, I weigh the exact same weight than before the treatment, even with my belly looking like a giant jell-o.

OK, so I feel a little bit better reading that others got "WOOZY" after. I asked around and my friend is doing FIG....Im doing something else. i have onely had 2-treatments...LOST 10LBS and an inch in stomach! I can tell my love handles are slimming down. Some tips that helped me feel better and not nausioud and dizzy.
DRINK FIJI water. It contains Silica and that helps the body absorb the water FASTER...hence flushing your system.
ALSO, eat a LOT of protein. I was NOT aware of that. It seems to be helping.
ANOTHER TIP, try Arnica GEL..it's AMAZING on the swelling and bruising!!!!!!!!!!

I hope it's helped. I get my third treatment next week (every 2-weeks; 4-syringes)

HEY EVERYONE! okay so I got my first lipodissolve treatment on Thursday 9/6, I started with my lower abdomen. I was scared to death. Everyone's comments made me so skeptical! I was so surprised but it went absolutely fine. The needles, which I am afraid of, did not hurt at all. The nurse pinched the area before injecting which made it painless. After the whole procedure the first 20 min were the worst. It was a burning sensation and the Tylenol handled it perfectly. I went to work the next day, yesterday, I am a server at a busy bar/restaurant down town. I took a banquet of 35 people with no worries. Today, now 2 days after procedure, I have a little redness and a little swelling. However, all I feel is a little tightness. I am excited for next weeks area and treatment.

As I read over the recent comments I noticed that some are getting two areas done at once. My clinic strongly disagreed with this idea. They said that your cannot have more than 100cc in you body at once. Each area is supposed to get 100cc for it to make a difference and show results. I just wanted to let everyone know so they weren't getting screwed on how much solution is used for the price, and I don't want anyone to get hurt. Consult your physician if you are getting two sections done at once, and make sure to ask questions. Ask how many cc's are going into each area. If its sounds fishy ask questions. :)

I'm having trouble scheduling between vacation, special events, & Christmas season. Keep me posted on your progress. Also, did you gain any weight? I am 2 lbs up.

Just had Lipodissolve done for 2nd time/treatment on the lower abdominal area on 9/4/07.  er, I didn't really watch my eating or drinking habits after the 1st time (*blush*).

I had no side effects this time (no vomiting, hot flashes, or diarr- you know...) just the swelling and bruising.  I don't care about losing pounds, just inches, and I REALLY want to lose that gross little belly "overhang."  I've been doing better drinking more water which I guess is supposed to help.  We'll see if there's a noticeable difference this time around.  Everyone's tips certainly help!

I am considering using FIG here in Atlanta.  How long between treatments does FIG recommend.  I want to have my butt done and the back of my thighs, I don't have a lot of fat in these areas but after working out 6 days a week for over 15 years and still feeling insecure about the same two areas, its time to do something about this and I'm afraid of lipo.  How expensive is FIG, I've heard that you all a the most expensive of all, but that there are now a lot of board certified plastic surgeons who are now offering this service in their offices for far less?????

It has been 26 days since my first injection.  I still have lumps, redness and purpleish tint, and the area is still tender to the touch.  I can feel every injection site.  They are the most tender of all.  I really think it is infected, but they, fig nurse, told me it's not.  Wanted me to have the cold laser, I did not go for that treatment and I did not go for the second injection this past week.  I want to wait for the pain to go away completely before I subject my body to this pain again.  I have to wear the girdle to play tennis because the jiggling when I run is really painful.  But it's so freaking hot outside I almost passed out last Wednesday during league play.  Most of you still seem to handle this better than I have.  Is it possible that my body is not responding to this stuff.  The one gal said hers seemed to not be going away and I feel the same.  I am far from obese, just a little fluff, as they called it so maybe that's the problem, not enough to work with.  Still I hate the "fluff" it is UGLY!  Oh yeah, the nurse who told me she had the treatment showed me her stomach...not one injection site, no swelling, no redness...I think she was not being truthful.

Work was fine, I even took a banquet. My clothing for work fit fine, a little snug in the belly. The only real problem I had was it was tender to the touch. Now I am back to 100%, I have a little redness and swelling though. All my clothing fits, work is fine, and I can touch the area. I haven't gained any weight, I just look bloated. I go again this thursday for my first procedure on my second area.  I am getting one area done a week. So 1area/week, 4areas/month until my six treatments are done. So if all goes good and I don't have to reschedule it will be over in six months. YEAAH!!

I'm not obese either, and this treatment is not for obese people. My BMI is 19,5 so I'm really NOT fat I just hate this poochy belly and want to get rid of,
Training at the gym with a trainer 3 times a week + running every day didn't help, so I decided to try this. The 2 first days were horrible, but I'm better now even if my belly looks worst than before. I have good hope it 's just temporary.
I run without the girdle because it's too hot, The first kilometer are weird (because the jiggling) but after I just forget it, and keep going.

The nurse also showed me her belly, saying she had it done, two days before, it can not be true it was a least a week or two, she was kind of jiggling but nothing on her skin : no redness, no bruises, no sign of injection.

ANSWERS ABOUT ""ARNICA GEL""!!!  THIS STUFF IS AMAZING. It's all natural and it helps with bruises, swelling, etc. I have used it for regular bruises and they vanish. I AM TOLD you can olny get it online, but I have not run out of mine yet. (I friend gave it to me).  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnica

ALSO, wanted to put more input in on MY treatments. ((This board as been amazing))

TODAY I completed my 3rd treatment!!!  WHEW! The actual procedure is getting painful because of the pinching....and Im still a tad tender from last treatment 2 weeks ago.

I am down 2 1/2 inches....

I HAVE DISCOVERED eating bad food is a NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Water, Veggie and protein!

DONT FORGET "FIJI" water!!!!  It contains SILICA...this helps the body absorb the water faster, hence you release more MORE often. It's a life savor if I get a little wOozy from the treatments.

I was told not to use Arnica as it will reduce swelling which is part of the process for this to work.  But if you have a Whole Foods or Sprouts Market where you are they usually carry it.
Also, I am not allergic to soy but I immediately swelled up with hives at the site of injection right after and although today is one week out from my 1st treatment (my clinic recommends 4 wks btwn) my swelling and bruising are significant still and am considering the Arnica for relief.
I guess if you are still seeing such great results and using these products then it is food for thought....

I had my 4th treatment yesterday but it was my 1st treatment on the lower abs - OUCH! I have had ab surgery in the past and the pain is very similar. I am ok when laying down but walking, sitting and going from one postion to another is uncomfortable. I expect to feel better by tomorrow. I may try that Armica Gel since I have a meeting tomorrow and with the swelling, I am not sure if I will have anything to wear.
I do have a question for you all - has anyone noticed an oder after the injections? The smell isn't fowl like an infection, just odd. I can't really explain it but it is there. I hadn't noticed it before but this is also the first time I am wearing a compression garment and don't know if that has anything to do with it. Just wanted to know if anyone else is/has experience this. Thanks and good luck to everyone.

I thank everyone for contributing your experiences it has been very helpful.
I am one week out from my outer thighs and I have to say that my first 24 hours I was thinking why did I do this??? After 3 days the pain subsided enough to get up and down out of chairs etc without too much pain.  Then I almost felt back to normal although I was still quite swollen but with a beautiful purple/green/yellow bruise on my thighs.  The bruise really was the only tender touch part.  But my clinic recommends massaging the area so I grin and bear it through the bruised pain.  I am now 8 days from my 1st procedure and I have the lumps/hard knots under the skin that many have had.  I am wondering how exponentially better people are after 2 weeks, 3 weeks etc.  My next (2nd)treatment is 2 weeks before I am going on a beach vacation and I am a bit worried how the pain and swelling will be.
Also, are each of your experiences roughly the same when you get your procedures compared to your first treatment.  Some mentioned it didn't hurt as bad but there was more pinching etc.
I have considered doing my inner thighs but I know this area will be much more painful.  Anyone want to discuss their inner thighs in detail? Most post with abs.
thanks and good luck all!

Anyone else in Louisville, KY doing this?  I've been going to Body Allure (Drs. Samuel ... brothers).  I've had injections to lower abs, back and love handles.  Here's how it has affected me:

It took a full month before my lower abs lost their sensitivity.  I still am finely attuned to my love handles when jogging.  Seems like I am more aware of them and they are still a little tender.  My bra bulge/back was the last area treated and it is still tender 2 weeks later.

My bruising lasts about 5 days and then fades quickly.

I have gained 2 pounds. Anyone else gaining weight?

I also experience diarrhea for a couple of hours about 8 hours after my treatments.  Anyone else?

Swelling lasts for a couple of weeks.

I go for my 2nd treatment to my lower abs this week.  They say you don't really notice much of an improvement until after the 2nd or 3rd treatment.  I'm hoping they are right.

Also, my docs both offered Rx pain medication, but I declined.  I just use tylenol and can get through it.

by aint_misbehavin1, Sep 15, 2007 05:55PM
I get a different area injected every 2 weeks and am currently working on 3 different areas, sort of.  The docs are treating my whole back as one area (bra bulge down to the curve of my waist, plus lower abs and love handles.  Seems like they are encompassing more than what I would have considered to be lower abs as they go all the way down to the pubic area.  On the love handles, they are going pretty far down the hip too.  Maybe because I'm not really large, they can spread out the shots.  They are also going to treat my saddle bags and butt as one area.

I'm considering the chin... anyone else?  I'll also be doing the arms and upper abs.  Again, I'm not large, just more jiggly than I like after 3 kids and 40 years.

by aint_misbehavin1, Sep 15, 2007 05:56PM
I also wonder if those of you that are not being offered numbing cream or prescription pain relief are being treated by MD's.  My docs offer both.  I don't know how you do it without the topical numbing cream.  My hat is off to you!

by aint_misbehavin1, Sep 15, 2007 05:58PM
The cost at Body Allure is $1600 per area (or $400 per treatment).  Anyone know of anyone else in Louisville doing this and what they are charging?  I've got some areas I haven't contracted to or paid for yet.

Anyone brave enough to do the injections yourself?  Scary thought.

33 days since the 1st injection.  Still red, large lumps, less pain, but still discomfort.  The entire area treated still feels weird.  I am not sure that it is not infected, have thought that since the beginning.  This stuff is still in the same place as it was 5 weeks ago.  fig did not disclose any of these symptoms.  They do not give refunds either.  I do not recommend this.

Thanks Victory2020 - the smell did go away after a day or so, just thought it odd. I'm so sorry for those posting about unhappy results. I can say that I have had positive results. As I mentioned earlier, I have had inches lost since starting the treatments in Aug. I have had 3 treatments done on my flanks and have lost 3 inches on my hips. I will say that I am still a bit swollen, there is still some numbness and a few lumps (nothing noticable or painful), but I am doing treatments 2-3 weeks a part.
I just wanted to remind others that there are some positive results out there. It is working for me: I am a size 14 and active - I try to eat healthy and watch my calories - workout with a trainer 2-3 times a week. I travel a lot, so I am in the car all day and on a plane every 2 weeks so it is easy for me to get lazy. The women in my family are large (sister at 380, one had gastric at 420) and I am considered the smaller one. Maybe it is working for me because I have more "fat" for it to work on. My doctor also said that he feels my early results maybe because of my choice to work out and eat healthy during treatments. He said that he has had patients who use this as a 'weight loss' method and that isn't what it is suppose to be. I have not had any weight change since starting, but I didn't expect any - I am weight lifting so I am more interested in inches loss then pounds.
I wish you luck and hope that you feel better. Make sure to keep your doctor informed of your side effects so that they can document it for you. If they are responsible doctors then they should be interested in what is going on and help you feel at ease with what is happening to your body. Good luck to all of you!

Thanks for the postive feedback. After all of the negative comments it makes me wonder. I too have invested a lot of $$ and pray that it works!! Have a great day!

Does anyone know how long after treatment I can be in the sun. They said I need to stay out of the sun or it may discolor my skin but didn't say for how long. Its been 2 weeks and I have a vacation coming up and I don't want to discolor.

Hey all, I just got my first treatment on my love handles on thursday. I thought the procedure itself was a little worse than my lower stomach. However, the afterwards pain/swelling was not nearly as bad. I was back to normal after 48hrs, besides a little swelling. Also, after one treatment I can see the most improvement in my love handles. This thursday, I will be getting my upper stomach done. I hear it is painful because of all the muscle, so we'll see. Ill check in and let you know :)

This question has been asked many times with no answer, which leads me to believe that no one on this forum has. There are many risks with doing it that way, one of the most predominate being lack of proper training. If you plan to get it done than get it done right, that's just my theory.

I heard this thing on the news that anything from asia is not good and us americans are getting scammed by their products, so I wouldnt buy anything over seas what if something goes wrong? I dont know if america sells this stuff, if so, it just cant be legit.
