Medifast Diet and excess potassium

by birdsngarden, Feb 22, 2006 12:00AM
I started Medifast 2 wks ago, and have lost 12# and felt great up until a couple days ago, when I started feeling very tired, and lethargic, which is unlike me.I keep a check on blood pressure, which is basically the same as usual, 130/70 +-.

My medications are Dilacor XR 180mg, Nexium-20mg, Benicar 40mg(without HCT)Levoxyl-.025. Medifast meals have potassium added to them (250-500mg approx.) per "meal" and my program is 5 "meals" a day, with a lean & green meal 1x day, so depending on which "meals" I choose to use, I get 2500+- mg. a day.

Is there a problem with my medication and the potassium I am getting in my diet? I read  that potassium SUPPLEMENTS should not be taken with BENICAR, but not sure this would apply to my case.

Thanks
