New here and have a few questions

by fungirl, May 25, 2007 12:00AM
Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, but read your posts almost daily.  I went to see the Endocranologist today for the very first time.  My PCP was afraid that I was having Thyroid problems due to not being able to lose weight.  The Endo believes that my weight loss problem is due to having 7 abdominal surgeries in 6 years.  She prescribed me Phenterming 15.  She said this was the lowest dose.  Has anyone had any success on the 15 dose?  How affective is this drug?  What can I expect from taking this?  Any info would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my post.  Fungirl

Hello fungirl.  I am on my second month of phentermine.  My doc first started me out with 30mg and now I am on 37mg.  I'm not sure how the 15mg will work for you.  When I first started taking them, I would still feel hungry.  But tolerable.   It really helped me with the cravings. Now that I am on the 37mg, still no cravings and I don't even feel hungry.  I have to remember to eat.  No cravings is a big plus for me.  My family likes to snack a lot.  LOL.  My doctor also gives me a B12 shot every two weeks.  The first two weeks, I lost 10 pounds.  For some reason my body slowed down.  I've been on the program for 5 weeks now and my total weight loss is 16 pounds.  My goal was 20, but I wan't that far off.  I have not experienced any side affects, except for the first few nights I couldn't sleep.  But everything is fine now.  I hope that it works for you.  Good luck!
