PAM2006 - we have same Dr! BUT....Dieting and not lost much! :( Help please!

by ronnieuk, Jan 09, 2007 12:00AM
Hello Pam2006 or anyone else who reads this! :) I am feeling a bit low and hope that you can help me! I have been on a medical weight loss program with a doctor for 3 weeks now using Phendametrazine,70 mg 3 times a day,  B-12 and B-6 injections, and Calcium Pyruvate.I also take a multivitamin and chromium. I am drinking LOADS of water (quite suprised at how much i actually like it!!) and following a strict diet - I am proud (and amazed!) that i have not cheated once!! Sooooooo I should have lost more than six pounds!! I am feeling so low...the scale did not move this week, although i apparently lost inches. Oh -  am also exercising every day and doing weights every other day, using the biggest looser dvd which i love. I must be doing the food part wrong because I know I am doing the water and exercising right.... So I am asking if you could let me know what you eat in a typical day to loose the weight.
Thank you :)

Good to hear you have started the diet!

I am going to try and go back to what happened to me in the first 3 weeks.  Pretty much like you.  I lost 2 pounds the 1st week and 3 the next week.  I didn't start seeing the pounds drop until my 3rd-4th week.  I didn't exercise as much as you because I didn't want to develop allot of muscle.  And muscle can be heavy. I rode my stationary bike for about 30 minutes every other day and worked out on my ab lounger. I lost even when I didn't exercise.

I am on pretty much the same meds as you except I  chose to get the nutrilean, fat burners and CLA.  Those will help you lose weight also.

If I remember, I followed a strict diet also, but I ate something every 3-4 hours.  Your body cannot burn fat unless you feed it.  So, I pretty much had my diet pills and 2 pyruvate at the same time then I ate breakfast along with water.  3 hours later I had a snack and took my chromium, multivitamin and my 2 fat burners. 12:00, I took my diet pills and 2 more pyruvate. I had my lunch.  3 hours later, I had a snack and 2 more fat burners, 2 CLA and 2 nutrilean.
Between 4or 5 o'clock, I took my diet pills with water as I drove home from work.  When I got home , I had my dinner.  I never ate anything after 7:00 pm tho.   I think maybe you need to get into a routine and once you do, you should start to see the weight come off.

Did you purchase the fat burners?  If you didn't, please try to get those.  It made a tremendous difference on how fast I lost the weight. and also get the Nutrilean and CLA.  You can look those up on the internet.

I can be honest and say that the holidays were hard, but I have maintained my weight.  I still want to lose 15 more pounds.  Getting the flu this week has not helped me.  I feel better tonight.

And also, are you getting constipated on the diet pills?  You will!  Get Senacot-S, or the store store brand.  Just make sure you get the ones with the "S" on it. I took 2-twice a day until I became regular and then I took one a day around 12 o'clock pm.

The diet pills will constipate you and you don't realize it.

Watch drinking too much water.  It can deplete your salt so, I stayed around 64 to 70 ounces a day.  I became chilled very easy when I drank too much water.

Main thing, don't get discouraged.  I did the same thing and one day I woke up and told my self that I didn't gain the weight over night nor was I going to lose it over night.  I gave myself permission to take it slow.  And lo and behold, the weight started coming off fast.  I was losing 4 pounds a week.

I am at 28 pounds now and it has been 3 months.  I have learned what to eat and what not to eat. If I cheat, I don't feel guilty anymore because I gave my self permission to do that. I just start again.  Learning to eat the right foods and not starve your self will help you in the long run.  Those that choose not to eat on the appetite suppressants will gain it back.  You have to re learn the correct way of eating.

I hope this helps you feel better.  Don't be hard on yourself.  The weight WILL fall off quicker than you think!
Let me know if I can help in any way!!!!

Blessings to you
Pam

Dear Pam,
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. You have been such an inspiration to me - I started going to Glory after I read your post. Thank you for motivating me to carry on!!
I am taking the nutrilean but not the CLA or fat burners. What are the fat burners called and do they sell them at Glory? I have heard that the CLA is good so I do want to get some.
Are you still going to Glory or are you now doing this on your own?
Again, thank you for taking the time to post great advice. I needed the motivation - as too many times I have started a diet and given up! I am hoping this time I will succeed :)
Take care :)

So glad I could help!!!

Yes, I still go to Glory.  Dr. David and his staff have been so good to me.

I have been there off and on lately because of being sick and so was my husband.  I am going Saturday to get my shot.

Ask Dr. David about the lipotropics or going to the lipo plus.  It will be a little more expensive, but well worth it.  You will drop like crazy then.  If you follow the diet you will drop weight really fast. Dr David has been there with me every step of the way.  He has been my inspiration because he really cares about his patients.  And to see the before and after pictures. Wow.  Just wait to see that! I almost fainted but instead got in my truck and cried.  I couldn't believe I looked like that.

Please keep me informed on how you are doing!  I am here to help if I can!

Blessings
Pam

Hey.  I don't use your Dr, but wanted to add a comment.  I lost 50 pounds last spring using phentermine and hcg.  My diet buddy lost about 55 pounds at the same time.  The thing we both noticed was some weeks we would lose pounds, but no inches.  Then we would lose inches, but no pounds.  We decided that as long as SOMETHING was getting gone, we were happy.  Keep working a couple more weeks, and see if it doesn't start down on the scale again.  By the way... we also noticed that when the scale did start changing again, it dropped quickly at first.  Good luck!

So glad to hear you lost again!  That is always a great feeling!  I am trying to get back with the program myself.  In August, my sis was diagnosed with terminal cancer.  I started eating for comfort, and gained 20 pounds back.  Funny thing is, I would know I was overeating, not even enjoy the food going into my mouth, but eat it anyway.  I have finally gotten a grip on myself, and am getting back on track.  My regular Dr gave me 3 months worth of phentermine.  I am hoping I can do it without the HcG, as that is a 3 hr drive for me to go to the diet clinic.  I have lost 3.5 pounds, only 56.5 to go!  Keep working!  We'll both get there!

DON'T TAKE THE CHROMIUM!!!!!!!

I had heard when I was in college that it helps you lose weight, but the literature from Dr. G in Huntersville says it makes you gain weight.
