Question about using Ritalin to cure compulsive overeating

by Spanish Rose, Dec 08, 2005 12:00AM
I started trying my son's Ritalin medication for a few days because 1. I suspected I might also have ADD or ADHD problem and 2. I suffer from compulsive overeating and have tried everything including very good 12 step programs. Now suddenly from the first day of use (I'm now on the 3rd day) I feel wonderful, can concentrate better,  no cravings or bingings are occurring, I'm not thinking about food all the time, I feel great, energetic, creative, more sexual (I'm 54 years old) and like I'm in my 20's or 30's again.
This is a hard question to ask but is this the "drug" talking or could it really be that I needed a chemical adjustment somewhere? I'm afraid to get my hopes up as I grew up normal weight and have been overweight for at least 20 years. I used to be an aerobic exercise instructor but was always yo yo dieting. Can you please answer me honestly with a medical opinion or suggest another safe appetite suppresant for adults like myself. Please don't suggest exercise and diet cause I'm already doing that!! Thanks, Spanish Rose

Using a prescription that is not prescribed for you is very dangerous.  It generally isn't a good idea to use prescriptions without a physicians care.  However, we do tend to do things that are not always in our best interest, which by the way we always pay for those decisions.
* Please at try the sublingual B-12 (B6,folic acid, & biotin) tablets.  I have been reading about them myself and I am in the process on waiting on my order.
* Please visit the website www.modernherbalist.com for some information about candida.  I have found that I had trouble losing weight even with being apart of the wellness weightloss clinic (it ain't cheap)including exercising & eating righ, just because I needed to severly clean out my colon due to a yeast overgrowth in the colon.
*I am still apart of the wellness weightloss clinic and my results are better than what they were in the beginning due to the fact that someone educated me on the cleaning of the colon after I had shared my experience (HCG injections & phentermine) with him about not losing weight like everyone else has at the clinic.
*Please research this information and respond back with your ideas and results.
