SPLITTING THE FORUM IN TWO

by Med Help, Mar 13, 2007 12:00AM
Dear Friends,

We have received many requests from visitors in this forum to split the forum - therefore we're working on that right now.  We are going to have one Weight Loss Forum using drugs and other products and a Weight Loss Forum for people wishing to lose weight via natural methods such as diet, exercise etc.

We're just not sure what to call these new forums, so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!  We'd like to keep the titles as short as possible, yet clearly identify that they are very different forums.

Thanks for your help!

Great idea! :)

Here's my suggestions:

Weight Loss (for drug questions,support)
Natural Weight Loss (diet/exercise)

According to your own subtitles when somebody posts a question, the natural one could be "diet and exercise" while the other one could be "weight loss drugs and products."

My concern is that people are still going to want to come onto the drugs and products one and tell everyone how harmful and bad they are and how they shouldn't be using them. How is this going to be dealt with?

i think some good sub titles are Natural Weight Loss , and Weight Loss Alternatives.

i think the weight loss should be removed completly. there will be fights here no matter what, and some are too sensitive to hear anything other than what they want to hear. not many want to know that they really need to be active and eat right to lose weight in a healthy and perm. manner. i understand the want it now mentality. but it doesnt work. it cant. sooooooooo unless you moniter your forums daily, there will still be some that want to give their 2 cents regardless of having 2 different forums. just my thoughts.

medhelp im amazed this is allowed to be here. people telling each other how to inject themselves with drugs they buy over the net. there is no talk of sterilization, how they could cause harm if injecting into the wrong spots or god help them leaving air in the syringe!! id think to keep yourselves from being one of "those" sites it would be best to remove this type of advice from someone that is not of any sort of medical background.

I'm sorry you feel the weight loss should be removed completly.  People come here for support.  Dieting is difficult as with any other medical problems people may be dealing with. Support groups help those who may feel they are alone in their dilema.

I realize you disagree with much of the content here but people choose differant options for many different reasons. I find I can state my feelings yet still understand that others have a right to their choices.  Eating healthy, exercising, and lifestyle change is always best, but I can't knock others for their choices.  I, myself, am choosing a protocol at the moment that I never thought I would. Snake oil?  Probably.  For me, it is only going to be a 2 (maybe 3) month program and from there it will be 100% natural diet and way of life. That's my choice at the moment. At such time I would be thrilled to have a place to go to, as well.

I appreciate your feeling and concerns on the subject because some things can be hearmful.  However, I feel I cannot play God, judge or jury over someone else's weight loss choice. Some people choose surgery. It's their choice. I'm here to support people while providing helpful infomation and my feelings about things. It's becoming a difficult chore since I'm wading through so many angry posts here. I want to continue to help support others but I can't waste vaulable exercise time reading through all the anger.

The onwers were asked to split the forum and they have agreed. That was very nice of them. I'm unsure why you would rather cancel all support for those who need it.

How about naming the forum without the drug info "Diet and Exercise"?

by Trialanderror, Mar 14, 2007 12:00AM
That`s great, Cindy. I believe it is important to keep the word Weight Loss in both titles so that anyone looking to lose weight does actually understand there are options between natural and drug assisted weight loss. Otherwise we end up in the same mess as before. Weight Loss - Natural and Weight Loss - Drugs would be an option. And the latter could have a disclaimer that a directory of hCG doctors is available under a certain number so that the forum does not get clogged with the same old question.

I failed to mention this above.

Please observe that most advertisments for this site promote injections, pills, etc. whether ot not we agree or disagree with it.

I honestly don't believe this is our call to make.  Most of us are very thankful for having this support site available to us be it natural or alternative dieting. I hope that you please consider this.  Your input is valuable and appreciated but everyone here deserves respect, as well.

Hope you have a great day!
