I know I have a million questions but i'm trying to get started as quickly as possible and with all the success stories I've read, I'm really excited. Anyone out there a veggie? What exactly is this "turbo protein diet" recommended in KT's book? He says don't do Simeon's diet at all if you're a veggie, instead do this diet. But on the almased.com website it hardly says anything at all about a turbo protein diet. I'm afraid of it won't work if I don't do the exact original protocol and I don't want to take chances. Any suggestions?
This is straight from the "Pounds & Inches" manuscript by Dr. S..It is available on the yahoo group under the files section where I Posted on an earlier post to you.
I don't know how strict of a vegetarian you are, but it also states that on occasion he allowed his patients to have eggs, but the serving would be 1 full egg and 2 eggs with just egg whites.
Thank you that does help. Thank goodness- I've been literally tossing and turning at the idea of having to force 100 grams of another (former) living being down my throat twice a day. But is it as simple as replacing the meat with the milk or eggs? Is vegetarianism addressed in the original manuscript? I'll try to find it.
Hi. I'm a veggie too and have the same concerns you do. I will be starting the diet in a few days and I intend to use eggs (one whole, 2 egg whites), soymilk and tofu for the protein. I suspect that in Simeon's day soy just wasn't out there enough to be recognized as a source of protein. I hope it works. what have you been doing?
Strict vegetarians such as orthodox Hindus present a special problem, because milk and curds are the only animal protein they will eat. To supply them with sufficient protein of animal origin they must drink 500 cc. of skimmed milk per day, though part of this ration can be taken as curds. As far as fruit, vegetables and starch are concerned, their diet is the same as that of non-vegetarians; they cannot be allowed their usual intake of vegetable proteins from leguminous plants such as beans or from wheat or nuts, nor can they have their customary rice. In spite of these severe restrictions, their average loss is about half that of non-vegetarians, presumably owing to the sugar content of the milk.

Hope that helps.
