tried it , lost some and gained it back. NO GOOD.

I tried it when I was about 15. I was 25 pounds overweight. I did it for about 3 weeks and I also exercised. I lost about 15 pounds on the Slimfast and another 10 after I quit the Slimfast and just kept exercising and eating right.

I managed to keep the weight off until I was about 20. Then I gained it all back and some over the last 5 years (I'm 26 now). This past January I started calorie counting and lost 22 pounds. I've still got about 10 more pounds to lose before I'm completely happy, but at least it's a start.

Good luck!

It's just another dip and rise the the life long dieting yo-yo. And you don't want to drink chemicals to lose weight.

its another 'trick' and quick fix like HCG..its a good 'jump' start...or eat breakfast...slim fast..lunch slim fast.. supper...you might say is that alot..which is my point you can not lose weight with out eating..so the  trick is to 'eat' with out eating..mneaing put  food in your body with out the 'calories' and heavy stuff..like protein shakes...its pre-digested..so less likely to gian weight..I knew a pro athlete took nothing but vitamins all day to lose weight instead of food..so he got vitamins & minerals in his body..with no 'food' nor calories..it took mhim over 45 mins to swallow all the pills...he lost 60 lbs in less then then 4 months..and then won the world heavy weight championship...was this smart..no..was it healthy...sort of..did it last..of course not ! he gained back about 80 lbs once he ate food..the same way you will when you stop this HCG so called protical

If you are one who consumed a large quantity of calories(over 300) for breakfast or (400) for lunch, and you replace one or both of those meals with a Slim fast Shake, you will lose weight slowly. Because you will be consuming less calories, but still get a nutritional meal to sustain a healthy balance.
Typically, this lower calorie diet (lower than you previously consumed) in conjunction with exercise for lean muscle mass growth, you will lose weight and begin to feel better.

Also, many people who skipped breakfast and/or Lunch which ultimately slowed the metabolic rate to what we call 'starvation mode", where the body burns the fat at an extremely slow pace ( why you feel sluggish) because the body will do what it needs to do to sustain itself until it gets 'the next meal'.   By adding this meal in the placement of the skipped meal, you will normalize your body and allow it to restore a healthier balance and metabolic rate once you have "re-trained" it to know, you wont be starving it anymore. You need to exercise during this phase, to burn off the calories and require your body to release body fat to sustain the higher energy levels you will feel from added nutrition.

Not everything is about you.  It only appears that way to you, since the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

If you have to do meal replacement, please consider an all natural or organic version. Nutrients pulled by plants from the earth are so much better for you than nutrients made in a lab. Just a thought.

I agree. Plus, I would not add slimfast between meals as an attempt to lose the weight.(not a good suggestion for those overweight) Typically those Slimfast drinks have about 300 calories in them. Added calories that are put into your body. Most of the posters here are not bodybuilders and are fighting obesity, so added calories would compound the problem, not help it.

Ultimately: Eating correctly - counting calories, fat grams, eating fruits, vegetables, carbs in moderation, along with proper protein - while increasing your activity level as you are able - will help you lose the weight.  As you increase your body in motion, the exercise will become easier for you, and habit (hopefully) and you will be able to maintain your new found healthy lifestyle.
Although the use of appetite controlled substances may help curb your food intake, it is important to feed your body proper nutrition, as well as, drinking plenty of water.

The recommended daily water intake is about 8 (8 ounces each) glasses per day, for the person who is at optimal weight. For those overweight, you should add 8 ounces (another glassful) for every 25 pounds over your optimal weight.
This will enable you to flush toxins and increase the weight loss.

These are typical, "broad" guidelines, and should be considered as such. Obviously if you are playing basketball in the hot sun all day, or mowing the lawn for a few hours, you may need to increase your water intake, to replenish what has been taken out from sweating.

Most people do not drink ample water, so this may be difficult for them, however it is crucial to good health and to weight loss.

I tried the slimfast diet. I am sure it might have helped, but I eat so little now, that I didnt want to take anymore food away and replace it with a drink.

The information that is posted about the slimfast drinks are false. I am currently on the diet and the drink (slim-fast optima) has only 190 calories. Please try to post correct information for the readers.

Thanks

Slim Fast is so full of sugar -- you might as well just eat a Snickers bar.

it really depends on how serious you are about loosing the weight!
Will power is another important factor, also realizing that after 3 weeks, it becomes easier and easier because you get used to it! (realized this after my food allergy was recognized)
I lost 3.5 stone in 2 months. once you have kick started the weight loss, it falls off, well it did in my case!
I went swimming and to the gym 5 times a week.

DIET:

Fruit = lots of it! watermelon is amazing.
Veg = cabbage is good, fills you up! lettuce, cant go wrong!
Fish = cod = grilled prawns+ lemon juice.
Snack on fruit.

NOTE: I have A GLUTEN ALLERGY so maintaining these rules was easy as my diet is naturally limited. However did end up a size zero!
