Started my B12/lipo shots today. It was actually not bad giving myself the shot. I worked out real hard at the gym and felt good. I am doing this with a 1000-1200 calorie diet and burning at least 580 in exercise. I'll keep everyone posted of my results. My starting weight is 185 lbs.
I went to the local clinic today to see what I needed to do or how much money I needed to have in order to start the program.
They have a special there...
For the Initial Dr. Consult
3 Shots: B-6, B-12 and Lipo and 28 supplement of suppressants...2 different kinds available...it is going to be $127, which is dirt cheap considering I always thought it was like hundreds and hundreds of dollars for a program like this.
I just so happened that I came upon this thread and site.
I was searching the internet to see if there were any bad side effects to taking these shots. It all seems well..but I just want to make sure since I am trying to live for my 2 boys..I dont want to get sick in the process of getting healthy.
But, I have havent seen anything but good things about it. Results will always vary..but I really think this is something worth trying.
Jamacian....
I am Jamaican too!
I hope the best for you and your journey.
I am hoping to get an appt. sometime this coming week so that I can get started and join yall!
What I always say is the pills and shots are not magicMagic bullet; they will definitely not do it for you if you are not doing the work. But they do deserve some credit! I know with everything else I've ever tried, I have not seen results and I have given up and gone back to bad habits. But with this my appetite stays under control, I don't have to fight a losing battle with my will power and eventually give in and binge because the program has given me control and time to establish healthy habits and now I truly don't even want to go back to junk food or overeating.
You guys all sound like you're just beginning. I've been on
B-12/hcg and Bontril since June and lost about 40 lbs so if I can be of help to anyone just let me know. Good luck!
OH how I wish I could say I was close to my goal!!
I started out at 280. I have fought this battle for most of my life, I am now 36. And of course every time I failed at a diet I would gain more. I finally got referred to a dietician when my blood sugar levels started looking a little high. Thank goodness I was not diagnosed diabetic or even prediabetic, but she said I was headed for if I did not do something. SO here I am, doing something! When I started at the clinic they listed my goal as 150, but really that's too hard for me to think about right now. I just want to be healthy, be around for my family, and of course I'd like to look good too but I don't even know what magic number that will be! We will see when I get there. And I know that will take a while but I WILL get there this time and I will do it the healthy way and keep it off!
Your plan sound just fine, just remember you have to find what works best for you and your body, don't let your sister pressure you. Something I learned along the way was it really helps to eat protein for breakfast beacause it will give you a lot of energy for the day and it will also burn a lot more calories during the day than if you ate carbs. I don't know what your day is like, if you work, etc. I just went back to work recently and if I'm in a hurry getting off in the mornings sometimes I just have a quick bowl of cereal (but I make sure its whole grain!) but if I possibly have time I fix turkey bacon or eggs or something. You can even get protein shakes if you like that sort of thing. You will be surprised the difference in how you feel. Also exercising in the morning instead of evening - same thing - it will continue to burn calories throughout the day and give you energy. ButI know it doesn't work with everyone's schedule and like I said you have to find what works for you. The important thing is to do it! Best of luck!
I'm not taking any pills with it because they all seem to interact with the medication I am on. I am in the Army, and work out a lot but since I got back from Iraq I have gained all this weight. If I take any pills I believe it will accelerate the weight loss because even now I have to force myself to eat the amount of calories suggested by Dr. Gates.
Hello, y'all,
At the end of Jan. 2006, I weighed 203 pounds @ 5'3" tall when I walked in a local gym and hired a personal trainer. I trained consistantly with him 3 x week with weights, machines, and we worked abs and did cardio, too. By May, 2006, I had lost 10 pounds but was feeling better, more energy and still determined. Then I ran into a friend I hadn't seen for a few years and she had lost SO much weight that I had to ask her how. She told me about Scale Solutions, Dr. Gates, in Savannah, GA. I started with Dr. Gates in May 2006. I agreed to do everything he suggested: calorie counting (1,000 calories per day), taking an appetite supressant to be able to do it), B-12/lipotropic injections twice weekly, drink water and continue to exercise. Here's one piece of background on me you should know: I hardly ever exercised in my 55 years and here I was doing it WITHOUT FAIL, a minimum of 3x weekly. About 3 months ago, I started buying the vial of B-12 from him to give myself shots at home (I didn't have time to run to his office twice a week). They also told me that B-12 isn't retained by the body so it's ok to take shots about 3x weekly which I began doing. It's now Dec. 26th and I weigh 139 pounds-within 15 pounds of my goal! I still work out HARD and I placed 2nd in my age category in a 5k race on Thanksgiving at my church. It's a blast running into people who haven't seen me in 6 months because most don't recognize me! I've changed clothes sizes about 4 times-Talbot's loves me! I've passed along my old sizes to girlfriends who have recently signed up with Dr. Gates. He tells me that I'm one of his finest success stories. The most important things to me are: I feel so healthy and I now LOVE to exercise. I gave myself a stair climber for my home as a Christmas present. Now I can jump on it once, twice a day, at my leisure and burn off calories. I motivate myself by watchng the calories tick off!
I just wanted to tell you all that it CAN work. Is it the low calorie diet? Is it the exercise? Is it the shots? Heck if I know but I'm going to keep doing what I've been doing and not worry about which part of it is the reason for my success. If it "ain't broke, don't fix it" is my motto! If I can do it, ANYONE CAN DO IT! OH, one more thing...I prayed to God for His help accomplishing losing weight and getting healthy in 2006.

Im glad I found this site.
I am 264 and 5'9 I would like to be around 180 or so..and hopefully get down to that by July. I will be turning 27 and I really dont want to start another year of my this size. I gained this weight right after I finished high school..and pretty much my first year of marriage. Then I had my 2 boys in 03 & 05 and I am around 30lbs heavier than before I had them.
I believe this medical weight loss center will get me to where I want to be.
I cant wait to start!
