Hello Ladies,
I am considering Metiformin. I am 54 years old, active and have a weight issue. I am up and then I'm down with my weight. I've worked out with a personal trainer and that helped but the weight has always been so hard to take off.
I have hypothroidism, had problems all my life with my periods, had a hysterectomyHysterectomy Hysterectomy - series in my late 30's and menopause in my late 40's. Also 3 years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer, DCIS and had a mastectomyMastectomy Mastectomy - series, followed with breast reconstructive surgery. I swear to all of you that my metabolism is the cause of my health issues with breast cancer.
I am a bit worried after reading some of the forums here that the side effects with some individuals are severe. I do know that everyone is different. My question is this... is there anyone out there that's suffered with breast cancer and thyroid issues and have taken this medication? If so what if any side effects did you have.
I am 5'7 weigh 193 pounds and NEED to take off this weight.
Thanks so much everyone, and blessings to all of you!
Did you get any help with the weight issue from hypothyroidism? I am also 5'7" and weight now 200 lbs. I am starting to get extremely depressed about this weight. I was always a very slim person until I had my thyroid destroyed. the doctors promised me i would not go above 160 lbs. If you have any suggestions please let me know.
