Topamax & weight loss

Am I the ONLY one who has NOT lost weight on Topamax??!! I was put on it two weeks ago (mainly for headaches but my doc knows I want to lose 10-15 pounds) and if anything I have GAINED a pound or two!!! I haven't noticed a change in my headaches and I have TERRIBLE acne!! I am up to 50mg (25 mg 2x a day) and STILL no change....well maybe just more acne. The only change I have noticed is that coke seems to taste a little flat to me (but that hasn't stopped me from drinking it! I thought EVERYONE noticed weight loss on this drug!! Leave it to me to get the side effect (acne) that 2% of people have!! I am TOTALLY noticing that I have a case of the "stupids" too. I do NOT like that!

I took it for several months due to migraines. My doc said be ready to lose weight and I was excited about that! Well, I didn't lose a pound, but my migraines improved. Now I have extreme hair loss and I'm afraid it was due to the Topamax based what I've read on Medhelp. So...you're not alone. I was increased to 200 mg per day, too and NOTHING!
