by thendricks, Apr 03, 2007 12:00AM
After several miscarriages and a loss at 5 months babk to back i got pregnant 6 weeks after my loss at 5 months, I was a wopping 246 at delivery, I'm 5'7 and am usually in very good shape, was a personal trainer for 7 years swimsuit and fitness model, back in my 20's... Now i'm 32 gave birth to my beautiful son 3 1/2 weeks ago, I lost down to 210 just by giving birth, now the hard part getting back to 150, I know i'll never be as fit as I was BUT I want to atleast get to a size 8 and 150, I'm a muscular frame so 150 is healthy for me.. My docotr wants to put me on zoloft for posr partum depression but i'm affraid it will cause weight gain, what about phentermine does it help with weight loss or is it terribly bad for you? Ant advice appreciated

I think some women really lose weight if they breast feed. The suction from the baby is suppose to help  get your body back in shape.   And if you are breast feeding, you really don't want to be taking anything.  The baby gets what you have in your body when breastfeeding.
Give yourself some time.  And congrats on your baby.  You are very blessed.

Zoloft wont make you gain weight. Sometimes you might lose weight because you are not as stressed. If you are nursing you do not want to take phenteramine but if not I am not sure w/the results. I do a online clinic in TN for HCG shots. But then again if you are nursing just enjoy your baby they are only little once and this is not enough calories for the babies needs. You can always lose the weight latter. I have 4 kids and kept on 15 pounds each one. I was not put on Zoloft I took Celexa for post pardom it helped alot.  I tried everything to lose weight and could not. I am finally glad I found the program I do now. You hang in there and enjoy your little one.

I am sorry to hear that. I do a online clinic that is supervised and they send me my shots prefilled for the month. You do 5 shots a week and take weekends off. You are on 500 cal diet w/the shots. If you just read some of the post you will see different results. I have lost 10 in 1 week. I really like the program and they are very helpful. How I found out about HCG was I bought KT's book weight loss cure they do not want you to know about. I went from there. I can not post the web site on the forum just google hcgdiets and you might find something.
The best of luck to you and the baby.

You've been through a lot of stressful events.  I added the zoloft, a very lose dose after my 2nd baby and I did not gain weight from it (prozac, paxil will make you gain weight).  I urge you to take the meds if you think it will help.  Postpartum depression is not in your head.  Everything is out of wack for up to a year after you give birth and breastfeed (hormones, thyroid, etc.).  Plus, if you are eating due to tiredness and stress/anxiety, the zoloft will help.  But, to address the weight question, since you aren't breastfeeding you can take phentermine or start on the hcg program.  I would ask about this at your post-partum check-up.  Do you have that when your baby is 6 weeks old?  Give yourself a break, too!  The phentermine will make you a little wired and I am not sure I would want to take it so soon after giving birth.  Especially if your baby is not sleeping through the night.  You can take zoloft along with the phentermine if you do try the phen.

Goodluck!  Enjoy your new baby....the days seem long at this point, but time will slip by fast!
