Weight Loss Doctor in Michigan

by misschrissy, Dec 30, 2006 12:00AM
Hi everyone - I am in Oakland County Michigan and am having a hard time finding a diet Dr. I only have about 30 pounds left to go (down 95 so far!) but I am burned out and in a major rut. I have been on a junk food bender for about 3 months and have gained about 5 pounds. I feel like I need something to jumpstart my diet again.

If anyone knows a doctor in the area I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Hi,

The biggest thing I did was cut processed foods out of my diet. That meant eating things as fresh & natural as possible. No canned foods (except occassionaly tuna), fresh fruits & veggies (not canned or frozen)and cut out pop & juice. I drank a lot of water and walked on the treadmill 5 days a week.

Portion sizes were also a big deal. I weighed my servings of meat and limited red meat to every other day.

I am at the point now where I am in a diet rut. With the holidays I really blew my diet and am having a hard time getting back on track.  I haven't really worked out in weeks and I can really feel it.

Good luck to you - YOU CAN DO IT!

Hello, I registered just to answer your question.  It's been a while since you asked, but maybe you'll check back.

There is an excellent weight loss clinic, just about a half a mile from Oakland County.

I have been a longtime patient there, and they provide phendimetrazine and water pills, along with a B-12 shot each visit.

When you first attend, they give you a basic physical and EKG.  It takes about 15 minutes.  They start you out seeing the doctor every two weeks.  As you progress, you can extend your time between visits.  I go every two months for my visit and prescriptions.

The great thing is, you pay on your way out, and the receptionist hands you your meds, as they have a pharmacist in the office, who prepares your script while you are waiting to pay.

The whole visit takes me maybe 15 minutes from walk-in to walk-out, and it is a walk in clinic, so you go whenever you want.  They always take the diet patients first.

It's a great place, and the only one of it's kind in our area.  I've researched long and hard.

I'm not sure how much detail I can/should provide here.  I'm new so I don't even know if there is a private message system of some kind.  I'll see and get back to you.

Okay, no other way to do this.  It's called Macomb Medical Clinic.  You can find it in the yellow pages in the weight management section.  It's on 14 mile b/w Dequindre and Ryan Roads, next to the Teacher's store and just about 2 miles east of Oakland mall.

There is a large sign infront "MMC" weight loss clinic, or something to that effect.

IF you decide to go, report back to us.  I'm interested to hear about your experience.  I have sent tons of people there over the years, they (clinic) just don't know that!!  LOL

Good Luck

We are going to sign up for the program at MMC tonight!  Our previous physician we were seeing Downriver passed away.  This is much closer to home... but, we didn't know anyone else that did the low carb program until now.  I'll keep you posted on our visit.
