What is meant by abnormal weight loss

by augustoctober, Aug 09, 2006 12:00AM
I have been reading a lot of medical journals on disease symptoms. However there is one word which is ubiquitous ie. abnormal weight loss. How does one define abnormal weight loss. There are a lot of factors that can contribute to weight loss eg.lack of sleep, diet or even consuming certain formula that can burn off fats. Is it necessary that abnormal weight loss be accompanied by poor appetite?  Must the weight loss be continuous with any sign of stability?

Appreciate an advice. Thank You
