I would try You on A Diet by Drs. Roizen and Oz instead.  I have done Atkins twice and it hard to maintain after the weight loss.  You on a Diet is more reasonable for the long haul.  Just my 2 cents.

Yes, you will lose the weight.  I lost 80 pounds in 5 months on the diet.  The first week you may feel really sick and tired while your body adjusts.  I decided not to give up my coffee like he wants you to and I kept drinking diet soda.  Some tips...take sugar free instant pudding and use heavy cream and it makes a mousse pudding for a snack.  GNC has great sugar free snacks and you can eat berries.  It will be important that you measure your keytones throughout the day to maie sure you are always in fat burning.  It is a long and boring diet but you will get the results.  I lost just over 15 pounds in my first 14 days.  Be careful because you will ose a lot of muscle.

I like Atkins to jump start your first 20 pound loss quickly then anymore after a month the fat grams are waaaaaaaaaay to much. Switch to low fat and moderate (good carbs) stay away from flour and potatoes and bread and sugar. Too many carbs makes FAT!!!!!!!  Don't forget your cardio!!!!!!!

I forgot to tell you don't forget the PROTEIN also. The most important. Skip the salad, no protein, get out the chicken or Protein powder(my best friend)

I guess the reason I think this way is,of course a bodybuilder doesn't do Atkins because that too much fat, and they have enough muscle to burn fat. But a heavy person needs to jump start the fat burning and usually when people are heavy its hard to want to do cardio or feel like doing it long enough to make a difference. I like to read your stuff because you sound alot like me when it comes to working out. You seem to like carbs and I don't have a good relationship with them. I don't like looking full, I like indentions to show on my body. Maybe the low carb thing has affected my brain?
