Well here I am hanging out with the girls. I have looked around for blogs with guys my age doin this and I cant find any. 19 lbs to go and I will be FAT FREE. My cloths are getting really loose. It is ok becuse I sttill have all my skiney cloths from five years ago on up and since guys dont have to worry to much about the latest styles my downsizing wont cost me a fortune. For once I feel like I can give away my big cloths cus I am sure I will not need them again......Thank GOD

I use the whole bag of the organic Baby spinach (it's softer) . . . wash good . . . put in pot with a little water on the bottom and steam for 2 minutes . . . drain all the water out . . . squish it out so it's almost dry . . . I just add sea salt and pepper and it's The Popeye Special (Larry's right . .  . full of great nutrition and keeps things moving, if you know what I mean)
After cooking it's steams down to what looks like very little but it fills you up.

by Lindaloo, Sep 20, 2007 04:23PM

If you like it raw . . .  just wash and use some organic apple cider vinegar, sea salt & pepper and lemon juice if you like.

Loo: are you going to drop salt ..... gosh I don't want to, thats lame, Dr. S says fine NHW says no. Are you thinking of getting rid of it?. It was the only way to lock some juice into the grass fed beef yesterday. There is so little fat.

Girl: Italian or not he needs a good spanking  ; ) As for the week, feeling fine considering....

Summer: I'm trying that steamed spinach. Are you doing stove top, in a pan with smidge of h20? how long on the steaming..? appox.

by Mary 53, Sep 20, 2007 06:45PM

UB, Hi, I hate to even point out where his posts were, and actually they quite possibly have been erased by the managers. If you find the posts, read quickly and mainly skip the words, you will know by the typing and spelling that you found the posts, but don't get sucked into the negativity. He likes to use spamming frequently, but calls it "copy and paste." I join the others in the dismay I felt when he reappeared. Just when it seemed safe to come out of the water, so to speak. Girleegirl did a fine job of trying to reason with him. Impressive, Girl!

My problem is that I cannot even understand him (and I teach literature!). Here is an example:
"I real thought people were more smart then this..and Its a proven fact..in the worlds most sort after goal of low body fat"  What?

I know I should not even comment on his posts since my patience is not at the same level as Girleegirl's...I have tried to post to him in the past, but one small difference in opinion from what he believes, and, your name is Mudd (as we used to say, Mudd with 2 D's). But, I am sick and tired of having to dodge the constant disrespect and the negativity that he spreads.

My assumption is that he has been repeatedly banned from this site and yet has managed to get a hold of another computer and a new screen name so that he can spread his negativity until the founders/managers of Medhelp get reports of his behavior or see it for themselves and then he is banned again. (I am at a count of about 3 different screen names over the past half year). That is just a hunch, but a plausable one.

The last time he responded to me he made a comment that was disgusting and inappropriate. I will report him if/when that happens again. He just responded to another poster regarding cleanses, etc, and then he arrogantly pointed out that he respectfully responded to that poster (after using an opening line that contained an acronym for a swear word. Unbelievable).

Well, guess I am venting....sorry. Tough drive home.  I love my job, but the commute is sometimes tough. There were so many bullies on the road today that I was totally dismayed at the actions of others to people minding their own business...just driving along...then, Geez...all this "shoving" started and it was just luck and the skill of the driver who had to dodge the ridiculous bully-driver not once but twice....So to come on this site expecting a safe haven, it is upsetting to see the negative poster bash others on a regular basis.

On the bright side, I spoke with GHI Medical today and my supplies, etc, should be here by next Tuesday! I have lost about 4 pounds (finally) over the past few weeks by partially following the suggestions in KT's book...but mainly just added the grapefruit (one a day) and the apples (mostly just once a day) and I added greens to drink (Swamp water, my family members call it). I have worked out for years but needed to step up my weight training..that has helped.

I have not had much of an appetite, and if anything, I undereat by not meeting the calorie needs of my body, perhaps in fear of gaining weight. I know better than to do that (job stress does not help, either, even though I love my work). And, I agree with others who know that 500 calorie diets alone most often do not work well.  A surgical menopause 7 years ago threw me into a tail spin, too, even though I have been greatly helped by using bioidentical hormones. I recently was out of balance, though, and fortunately now I am balancing myself out. So, as I said, the weight is starting to budge a little and so now I am truely looking forward to getting the product next week.

Funny enough, I am now hungry for Spinach!

Take care all,

Mary

Hello again all. Still waiting to start Dr. Simeons  - I wanted to get a count of people who have decided to go with KT's vs. Simeons. I'm going with Simeons - but will try to my organic meats - but produce is way to expensive here - and if I want to last the 40 days I'll have to do what I can.

Does anyone see any difference between regular produce vs. organic? - I'll be using a scale that I purchased at wal-mart and am hoping that it will be ok since I won't be able to get a different one.

I'll be going with the 500 vlcd - taking sundays off - like simeon suggests - but the only other thing I'm questioning is go with 175iu's or 200iu's. I'm thinking since I have over 100lbs to lose that I should go with 200. Any suggestions anyone?

Thanks all you all for the posts - they really help !!!

Wow, I didn't know KT and NHW says NO to salt . . . . I know I read somewhere that if you use the same amount everyday it shouldn't be a problem . . . that just if you overuse it one day there may be an effect . . . I guess I should try to cut it out and see if that helps . . . OK, I'll try and let you guys know.

lindaloo.....kt  states sea salt is ok.  it's on his list of ok condiments.  dr s also said it's ok so i'm keepin it!  without it and with all the water we're spewing out my BP would drop to the floor!  it stays.
jenn...regarding the dosage.  i think it depends on the product you're buying.  i'm sort of in between because i purchased 1500iu packaging and add 8cc water so i end up with 187.5iu per dose.  but after i expell a bit to get the bubbles out of the syringe i think i'm actually getting a bit lower than that.  dr s just states min 125 (remember that's a deep IM shot into the glute) max 200.  anything in between i think is ok.

found you guys....so has the mad man.  what's up w/him?  what does he care, I don;t get it?  I bet he's REALLY skinny...all the time ane energy he wastes trying to convince us that it does'nt work.

I saw my friend who is a plastic surgeon yesterday, I showed her my decreased fat in my "back fat".  she couldn't believe it.  Cool, huh?

Anyway, I've slowed down a bit.  6.4 lbs and over 8" in 7 days completed.  I am now wondering if my cake baking is affecting my results.  That is the only thing that has changed other than I layed my egg (HA) I usually retain alot of H2O then just as PMS.  But back to the cakes....when I bake I come into contact w/alot of fats on my hands because of the mass icing.  Do you think that could have done it?  I tries to be very careful and wash right away.  I am going to wear gloves today.  Any suggestions?  How is everyone else doing?

As for Phyco BOB - just ignore him....you know what they say about opinions????  Apperently he's got one.

Take it from a former starving diet fool who lived on 600 cals for lengths of time...I have NEVER had the fat deposits come off in this manner.  You girls just keep at it.  The fat on our bodies will hurt us way more than HCG ever could from a medical standpoint.  SO who cares if it does or doesn't work as they say.  Point is it works some home how and you guys are retraing your brains and bodies to eat healthy foods that will help keep your weight down and there by decreasing your risk for breast and colon cancer, diabeties, cardiovascular disease and many other diseases assoc. w/ obesity.  KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GIRLS.....WE ARE DOING GREAT!!!!

I got so excited but got on the scale again and it was 147 and again and it was 148 . . .148 . .  ..148 . .. . so I'm going with 148 . . . that's ok  a pound is a pound ... .  it's all good!!

I've heard that you can become dependent on enimas.  Some people have got to where they can't go without it.  I would prefer to stick with colonics.  It imitates the way the colon works.  They run alternate cool and warm water in you.  The warm water makes your colon expand and the cool makes it contract.  That's the way your colon pushes waste out.  I would like to eventually get to where I don't need them.  Since I'm so backed up, I don't know if an enima would work any better for me anyway.

I don't know .. . let's see I've got 11 more days on the VLCD .. . . so if I lose a pound a day that will be 137 lbs. on last day . . . really wanted to get to 130 but I guess I should be happy where ever I end up!! They are working pretty well.  I don't empty all that well if I haven't been taking my fiber though.  I stopped taking it when I started the vlcd because I didn't know how many calories were in it.  Now that I've started taking it again,  I should do better next time.  I'm looking forward to when I can go at least once every morning like I used to before I started the vlcd.  The fiber really helps me as well.  I'm still eating spinach for lunch too.  Maybe I'm not eating enough of it.  I measured out a hand full, but that doesn't seem to be doing the trick.  I guess I'm just more backed up than some.

I am new to this blog and as I was reading some post from other pages, I can't help but wonder if the "negative guy" in question is bboss?  I looked at something he started "about my postings" and I started by saying that I didn't know where his anger was comming from, because I didn't know who he was talking to.  I think I may see that his angry post was from earlier blogs with some of you.  And Mary 53, I GUESS you are talking about me when you said that he responded to "another poster" about cleanses.  If I am wrong please excuse me.  I don't have anything against anyone!  If  I can get information that I need and the person is not being rude to me, what is the problem?  Why do some of you give so much attention to someone you don't even know.  I didn't even know that bboss was a man until I was reading some of your post.  I don't know why there is anger.  Even though I might not personally believe in a particualar program, I would never discourage someone who is on it.  Weight loss starts in the mind!  No one (including bboss)  should ever try and discourage anyone if their mind is made up.  Any program will only work if you believe that it will!  The best programs in the world don't for the one who to does not believe in it.  Trust me, I am very overweight and just getting my mind where it needs to be to start a program.  Everyone that searches these forums, have a problem.  And though alot of our problems are simular, some are not.  I have just realized that for years I have been undermining my own self.   I do know how to fix that now.  I wish all of you the best of luck and by staying positive, and not wasting your energy on the negative (which you cannot change!) you will have much more peace and success.  Good luck to you all!!!   And Happy Weight Loss!

O.k so weigh in today down .8 so it's a total of 9.7 for 5 days on the vlcd. Starting day 6! I think it is great. I was retaining some serious water last night too, puffy feet and ankles. : (

It hasn't even been a week. I'm holding out till Sunday to measure...  we'll see! I know things are changing and I live in jammie pants any chance I can when home. So my favorite pair has the drawstring out of it  and now they are riding down. I slice my apple into super thin slices and it takes me a hour that way.. If I'm in the car especially. I just have one every few minutes and keep chugging water. It really drags it out. I drink also 45oz. of my tea mixture before I even eat my first item of the day. It's 10:15AM here got up at 7AM and I still have another 24oz glass to go and I'll have my apple probably in another hour. It sure helps and I eat lunch closer to 1 PM.

Hi,
I have tried to do the shots and eat healthier/low cal, but its not working for me.  I'll be starting the Dr S stricter protocol next weekend, so it is helpful to see how many of you are using it and are still happy and losing so well adn not totally starving.  I am so worried about being able to stick to the 500 calories,, but I am going to give it a shot, b/c nothing else is working, and I have been so discouraged and disappointed and I have got a lot to lose.  I am taking this next week to read and reread and reread the Dr S manu script to learn all that I can about it before I start on next Fri.  Thanks for all of the positive comments and posts, I will really be using those for motivation the next few weeks when I begin.

I usually drink a glass of water in the morning with the juice of a whole lemon and about one cup of coffee with stevia.  For lunch I've been eating between 90 and 100 grams of fish.  (I hate it so much I don't know how long I can keep that up.  I got some lean steak and I'm going to try that.)  Also, for lunch I have been choking down just a hand full of spinach.  For dinner I usually have 90 to 100 grams of chicken and a hand full of tomatoes or cucumbers.  I used to eat two apples a day or two hand fulls of strawberries a day or a grapefruit.  I haven't been eating my snacks like I used to though.  I totally forgot the other day.  Yesterday I only had half a grapefruit.

welcome to all the new folks!!!  wow this is really taking off isn't it!

javette........you need to get your hands on the kevin trudeau bood "the weight loss cure they don't want you to know about" and research dr. simeons bood "pounds and inches".  someone said you can download that one from hcgsupplies.com but i'm not sure.  read and reread all the information in them because there's a lot of information to get your brain around.  it's working for all of us on here.  some are losing faster than others but we're all big LOSERS just the same (happily).  if after you've read it you think you want to give it a try awesome!!  it's a lot of committment and work but i think all of us agree it's worth it.  good luck!

imalarry......it's about time!  give some of us a chance to catch up!  i'm using redmonds natural sea salt called "real salt" and pepper, some organic garlic and that's about it.  i do squeeze lemon on my fish but that's about the only time i use lemon.  i read somewhere that once you mix lemon with your water you body treats it like food not a flusher.   i avoid putting in in my gallon of water and make sure that's all it is...pure water.   i drink tea throught the day also.  i really like this one called  every day detox  by traditional medicinials and chamomille keep me going thru the day.  i brew the yerba mate tea but i'm not real in love with either that one or the wulong.

well i need to get myself a grill screen with no holes in it!!  i've got a problem eyeing up 100g of meat (i can never get exactly 100g) so when i cut it up and put it in little freezer bags i usually have a nice sized piece and a little one added to equal 100g.  fish too!  i keep having problems with those little buggers falling into the grill and usually i just let them go but today i was a bit hungry since i didn't get around to lunch until about 3:00.  one fell in so since i was cutting up fresh chicken i got another one about the size of the little thing that fell in.  and that one fell in too!!!  i was not meant to have that today!  i'm having a tiny little 100g filet tonight and if that sucker falls in i'm goin in after it!!!

Sthnbelle---you should try it, the first few days are hard but it raelly gets easier....and you actually do lose your cravings, I am AMAZED that I've had no sugar or carbs in almost 2 weeks. And i do actually feel like I'm eating enough, am satisfied with my 500 calories.

Thanks for the post on vegetarians. I'm a little down about losing only 3lbs in 5 days! Maybe this diet in protien-dependent! NO one out there is a veggie I guess. I bought a hemp protien powder which I'll mix with h2o. Try that tomorrow.Meanwhile its egg whites and spinach for dinner! Yippy!

Make sure not to skip anything... if we are under or over that 500 it'll effect our loss.

Lindaloo got me to stay on top of having stuff already to go. I will cook 3 portions of chicken up ahead of time and than each day I can pull it right out for lunch and then cut up my cuccumber fresh. I also have been eating beef most days for dinner since seafood and I aren't the best of friends!! I use 1/2 lemon in the AM and the other half with my dinner and evening tea.

I didn't realize that skipping something would effect my loss.  That could be the reason I'm only losing 1/2 a pound.  Thanks Mama.

Hello everyone, I found your new thread, glad to hear everyone is reporting wonderful results!

Today was the 2nd day of VLCD, and I lost 3.5 pounds, I was soooooo excited. I jumped on my treadmill and did an hour, to keep it going. I gained 3 pounds during the gorge, so I have lost that and then a little, hoping for wonderful results tomorrow.

OK so I posted this on the old forum but now I know why we moved!!!!

Just an update. i'm busy at work but I wanted to read some encouraging posts!! :) Ya'll are great!

This morning at the end of day 4 of vlcd, I was down 5.8 lbs!!! I'm very happy. I'm already fitting a jean size smaller!!! :) YAY.

Unbelievable

Ok so I have a question to anyone who can answer it.

I had not had a bowel movement for 4 days (basically the whole diet) that was worth anything. Finally I had a better one today, but my stomach felt so full. Today was nice. Any tips on keeping your digestive track going? My husband does great with that. It makes his system go go go, but mine hit a halt! NOT COOL. Maybe my weight will be down more in the morning though! :) I drank a few sips of coffee today, so that might be why today was different. I HATE coffee though...it has to be mocha so that was very hard. It was nasty....  I've also done the spinach and stuff which I read earlier. I love spinach, but it didn't do the trick. I might just have to do the coffee tasting once in a while. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!!

I was wondering if ever during this protocol you cheated, even a little? My reason being...I am going to a wedding tomorrow, its very formal, and I'm gonna have to eat. If I skip lunch and dinner and then just stick to the meat/veggies and slip the rest to my husband, will that work? Basically I'm just wondering if I do not get the exact calories and the two meals, is it going to effect me immensely? Dr. S had a system for "cheating" for all his "upper society" people but I wanted to get some input from you if you have any experience with this. thanks!

PS, and oddly enough, I'm ANNOYED that I feel like I'm gonna have to cheat! I was actually telling my husband maybe I can just not go. Didn't fly with him. :0)

I've been having trouble having bowel movements too.  Senna tea helps me.  I wouldn't recommend using it everyday for a long time though.  It can cause other problems.  girleegirl71 mentioned Lacy Le Beaux tea on the other thread.  It has senna in it.  You might could find it at a health food store.  That's where I found it and found out what was in it.

Those of you, are you all drinking all the teas? (Wu Long, Yerba Mate)  I'm also doing a nighty night tea... it seems to keep things moving here....I know Dr.S did says something like every 4 days or something was fine. The colonic thing is quite efficient!

I also used to do Lymph drainage massage; they say no massage but Thai (since that is done over your clothes.) The lymph massage is very similar because you wear a tight 1 piece suit like spandex and it’s a vacuum suction and everything is moved through the body. Let me say there is no problem going after one of those either.

Or just ask Loo and she'll hook you up with Big Red! :)

We don't need any sufferers out there!! We can help move the dam...

STEP AWAY FROM THE SALT SHAKER!! . . . .I don't know if that's the reason but I did drop 2lbs last night. WooHoo!!
Ya know what amazes me you guys is how accurately  they can predict the pound a day thing . . . . Don't you find it remarkable how everything Dr. S and KT have said comes true . . . how often in life does that happen?? It's day 34 for me and I'm 34 lbs. down . . . the day/pound ratio is Even Steven . . .  Level Nevel .. . . crazy, right?? I also used Big Red yesterday so that probably helped too!! i like the rebounder.  after the treadmill i jump for 5-10minutes.  it gets the lymph moving.  if i remember sometimes in the evening i'll go downstairs and give it another few minutes.  i think it does help.  extra perk........scott seems to watch me jumping on it.  hmmmm...........wonder about that (haha).  no, i don't have a shower filter because i don't use public water.  not chlorinated or fluoridated so i don't have one.  i do have a whole house softner system though so maybe i should look into it?

ya know i'm wondering something...........there are folks like lindaloo and imalarry that have lost surprisingly on this plan.  i mean 2lbs a day at a time.  others like myself and girlee, eru, itmama, that are losing to be sure but not at such a rapid rate.  i'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that we've all been pregnant and had children so the hcg has been in our systems before.  it is new to the systems of those that have never had kids right?  could that be why some lose at a much faster rate than others???  any thoughts on this gals?  i know in the beginning there way lyndamc that did lost about 40lbs and she did have kids so i don't know if it's related.  just something i was pondering because i don't think i'm losing as much as fast as i should.  i wanted to be at about 20lbs by the time i hit 10days but i'm not.  thoughts??

I've never had any children, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.  Good question though.

by Lindaloo, Sep 22, 2007 08:39AM
To: Ub/Er
I believe in the snowflake theory . . . we are all unique!! Ub, I don't remember if lyndamc lost a bunch at first then leveled off or if she was more consistent . . . remember there were days when I didn't lose anything for 3 days at a time . . .  let me check . . .  yes there were 6 days with no loss and one day I gained a pound. .. . I think it's better on your body to lose slow and consistently rather then a bunch then nothing . . . I don't know about Larry but there were days when I was completely wiped out and had to seep .. .  and yesterday I was so dizzy, I had to lay down where I stood. So as long as you stay in the pound a day region I think that's better, no?

by Eruaistaniel, Sep 22, 2007 08:54AM
To: ub/Lindaloo
I agree with you, Lindaloo.  An average of 2 pounds a day is too much.  I think those who are losing so much will eventually slow down a bit.  I will only become concerned if I get to a point where my average is like say 9 pounds in 10 days or something like that.

Everyone is doing great.....doing anything that is going to improve our current weight is a good thing. Being motivated for the change and putting ourselves as a priority is a good thing. Having a support system of friends that are there purely for positive reasons is a great thing! Keep it up everyone!

Today I had no loss no gain and I know I'm within the parameters of what I am supposed to be doing. The only thing I took out was Melba the other day and now I'm hardly losing. Go figure. I cut back salt a bit yesterday so we'll see what happens. Also I was thinking about the dizzy issues a few of you are having and wondering since there is a bit of exercising going on and in the original protocol there was no exercising, KT is the one who added an hour walk into it. Which could be adding to several of you having the dizzy light headedness?

Loo: it must be cold in NY if you've got snowflake on the brain! ; )
Ub: I needed that giggle THX : )

ya know when kt did the treatment he didn't exercise at all he said.......hmmmmm.  i'm not going to give up basic treadmilling and my rebounder but i'm just wondering.  i appreciate that without kt none of us would have ever heard about dr s but i do believe a lot of what he said is over the top.  it's almost impossible to live a totally organic lifestyle these days if not because it's tough to come by but because it's really expensive.  i get it though......spend it on good food or spend it later when you have all the dibilitating diseases that are created thru all the food processing but i do believe in moderation.  i think this whole thing is a great lesson in moderation for us. hopefully when it's over we'll have learned a new lifestyle that will sustain us to the end of our lives.  and may they be long and thin lives!!!

Hello all! its been 5 full days of vlcd and im down 10 pounds! Yes the beginning was very rapid weight loss and i seem to be tapering off to a pound per day, yesterday 1.5 pounds and today 1 pound. Still its amazing, in the past it would have taken me blood sweat and tears not to mention months of dedication to get down ten pounds and then i would gain half back over the course of one night of letting go! Dieting in the past was soooo frustrating.

Lindaloo: Im so happy for you! I think the salt thing really does make a difference, although it is the only flavor we get, it seems to keep the pounds off, i'm so happy for you this is your home stretch now.. goodluck! Yes you can make it into the 30's i'm rooting for you!

For those of you backed up: i've mentioned it once before but i use Dr. Schulze intestinal formula 1 about once every 3 days while on the vlcd and it helps tremendously. Its a natural cleanser and it gets the job done, not a laxative.

Anyone out there using egg white once in a while?

by ubflossn, Sep 22, 2007 11:22AM
To: mresearcher
no eggs for me. i know what you guys are saying about the salt but lets face it that really only has an effect on water wt.  we are focusing on fat loss so i don't worry about it.  water always follows salt so no matter how much fat we lose if we indulge in salty foods it will attract water.  drinking more water will help  overpopulate the cells with water and flush the salt out but the loss is really water not fat.  i gotta have a little.  life is too bland without it for me.  same is true for the cleansing programs.  they do help us "go" but when it comes out it's sort of runny.  that's because the colon is being forced to pull in water to flush things out.  so we get dehydrated even if we're drinking a ton and the water goes down the toilet.  the result is the body holds on to water to catch up with all that was lost thru the bowel.  i think if we are careful and don't overindulge a little bit is ok.  afrter this program is over we're going to use it so our body should be used to it.  does the dr schulze clense make the stool loose or watery?

by mresearcher, Sep 22, 2007 12:15PM
To: ub
Hi, thanks for all the great info its something ill consider for sure. No the dr. schulze does not make the stool watery, its def no laxative. It just always produces a large elimination that is comfortable. When i first started using it i was really constipated and the first couple of times i experienced some cramping, but that went away rather quickly.

Thanks for your help guys. It actually seems to be doing a little better now. It's just not as regular as it had been for whatever reason. Now it seems to be better though. If it gets backed up again, I will definately check out those teas? Are they allowed on the diet though?

At the end of day 6 I've lost 6.6 lbs and my husband has lost 7.8 lbs. I've had a kid too so any of you doing a tally on that idea, just thought I'd let you know. I'm feeling great however my husband is having soreness in his joints and bones as he described it. Do you think he could be difficient in calcium? Is anyone taking calcium supplements? ..and has it effected your weight loss too much? Like myself, he doesn't have a ton to lose...probably just 8 more lbs or so...so it wouldn't be a huge deal, but he'd obviously still want to see the loss! Please let me know!!

Mid123 - How's your loss going? Are you on your monthly? And how is it going....did the weight loss slow down or is it still pretty consistent. I only drop .5 lbs some days too, and then 1 lbs other. Like yesterday, was only .5 lbs. It is still a good feeling though! Especially when that .5 lbs takes me down to the next lb range! :)  Keep up the good work everyone!

I DID IT!  NOT A SINGLE BITE DRINK NOTHING!!! wwhhhooohhhooo!
I didn't even care til we ended up not getting home and I had to eat my dinner at 10PM. :( I got a really late start to my food so I think that helped. I had about 1/2 my apple at 1PM than ate my lunch in the car on the way and finished it roughly 2:45. Tons of drinks, prime rib, veggies, fruit, cake, cookies and I had hot tea and water. About 7 PM I was getting weary and ate the other 1/2 my apple that I stuffed in my purse. We ended up for a little while at the owners house where the drinks were flowing... luck for me Dan knew I was about to pass out and  got me home and grilled me some chicken. Stayed up way too late to try and digest before sleeping.

All is well this AM with a loss!! So yesterday I reported no loss, but I re-weighed and I was actually down cause I checked it 3 more times.. And then I lost today for a total of 11.5 pounds in 10 days on the vlcd!!

Thank you for not posting a cram it down your throat post! I was reading over your post on the other HCG tread and was curious if you know how to make someone lose 8-15 pounds in 2 hrs what exactly are they losing other than water and waste?

On the HCG thing which I know you are so against (we can have a difference of opinion) For those of us doing this and if we are losing fat or mass or water or waste whatever it is it is coming off! Numbers are getting lower everyday. Those of us on this thread are real people.

I will continue to do this until I can get to a point of working out again and I may then do something else. I agree diet and exercise alone can work for most. For me it's not an option right now with other health issues I have.  I'm lucky to get my kids to school everyday and get out of bed. So please don't judge each of us without knowing us. It's great you did so well your weight loss and you should tell us all what it was you did to get such great results, not what you are feel won't work.

I hope to start on Thursday of this coming week. I spoke with the pharmacist from GHI Medical on Thrusday and I was given the date of Sept. 25th as the target date. I have an evening appointment on Tuesday after a full work day, so I thought I would give myself a little time to get acquainted with the materials. My Mom was the "go to" nurse in the neigborhood (this was back in the early 60's!) who gave vitamin B-12 shots to people who had scripts from their doctor, and I have gotten allergy shots most of my life, so I am not terribly uncomfortable with the procedure, but, well, I say that NOW, you know :)

I am getting excited, though, to start, and who knows, maybe it is just psychological (fine with me, I will take that too!) but my weight is starting to drop. I have been following Phase 1 regarding apples and trying to get in the grapefruit, at least one a day or every other day, and staying on track regarding exercise. This has been very helpful. Kind of keeps me focused better than ever.

I did have a hormonal imbalance that was recently discovered now that this has been adjusted I have seen an improvement, but I have also increased my wt. training (not obsessive, but smart about it, you know?) which I do in my basement after doing some aerobics either on my little box stepper or my Rebounder which I have had for three years and LOVE.

But, my body responds very well to the weight training and after doing more in-depth study into my body/metabolism type (from another interesting book, called "Turn up the Heat"...(unlocking the fat-burning power of your metabolism), it is a fact that a better ratio of wt. training to cardio, meaning more wt. training than I was doing, will be helpful. I do about 15 minutes on my upper body every other day and then try to get lower body in on the other days using ankle wts and doing squats with wts. I just read the book "Six Week Body Makeover" and was able to find my body type in there...a layer of muscle easily toned even though I tend to gain wt. easily. I have known for years that my body responds well to what we used to call Calestenics (is that spelling right?...sorry) but because of the importance of getting aerobic activity in, I would sometimes neglect the weight work. I was able to reverse a decline into Osteopenia (one step away from Osteoporosis) four years ago by stepping up the work with weights. So, I do know better....I just have to do it again, and I am. And, it is helping. I will continue this way (well, as long as I live hopefully) once I start the protocol.

OK...sorry, you did not ask me to write a book did you :)

Thanks for your interest, though. I am feeling very hopeful again for the first time in a long time after being diligent regarding weight and health issues since I was 13 and realized I did not Feel well....then I started to search for answers on how I could change things in my life so that I would feel well. It has paid off for the most part. Although, it has been a continuous life long journey, but an interesting one.

Take care...Mary

helllo all, well its day 7 and i only dropped .5 of a pound this morning which brings me to a grand total of 10.5 pounds lost in my first week! My mom (the vegetarian) is doing well to although not having  the same luck due to a lack of protien, she's down 6 pounds in her first week! im soo happy for her!

its amazing because i already notice a change in my body, i took measurements on the first day but i havent remeasured as of day 5. As of day 5 i lost 6.5 inches! mostly on my hips/thighs.. (they were huge). but even my waist has gotten tiny. it feels great.

Loo: keep it up youre almost there. i'm jealous... i miss eatng!
ItalianMama: Wow, you endured an entire company party without eating a thing BRAVO you skinny thing!

by Mary 53, Sep 23, 2007 02:45PM
Mresearcher....WOW...think about it! Really, you have lost 10.5 (on the scale) + 6.5 (inches) for a total of 17 pounds! I suppose people could argue this with me, but I have read this information more than once and like you, I am a researcher...when I saw info on translating inch loss to weight loss it made total sense.

I am so excited for you and will be joining all next week on the protocol.

Wow, I started the first HCG diet thread back in August.  Who would have known it would get so many posts?
After receiving my hcg after 21 days, and waiting for my visitor to arrive (5 days late) I was able to start on Thursday morning gorging and giving myself my IM shot.  By Friday morning, I gained 2.2 pounds, but didn't gain anything on Saturday morning. After my first day of vlcd yesterday, the scale reflected a  Ioss of  3 pounds this morning.  We'll see what happens tomorrow morning!  I need to lose about 25 pounds.
I have a few questions, as I am not going through a clinic. I have purchased a gram scale to measure out the 100 grams of chicken, veal, etc, but how much of the vegetable can I eat.  FOr example, I took 2 handfuls of spinach salad, threw in my 100 grams of chicken and threw in a few squirts of lemon juice.  I printed out the menu from Pounds & Inches and am following that except for the breadstick or melba toast.
I can't believe that I even had to force that down my throat.
I don't drink coffee, so I eat my small apple in the morning.
I would appreciate any help.  Good luck to all, your weight loss posts are very encouraging!

to everyone - starting either wednesday or next monday. Would like some input on what people tend to eat daily. I know KT's book says don't eat 2 meals exactly the same in the same day. Is everyone mostly eating chicken? (which I'l probably be doing) - just want some examples to help me gather some good meals together. any info is appreciated....

Congrats to all those losing! I read on another site about a woman who went from a size 18 - to a 12 and lost 37lbs. I'm soooooo looking forward to this !

Thanks again guys.

also - is anyone skipping a day like Simeon suggests to prevent immunity?

If so - how's weight loss ?

If not - how's weight loss ?

Thanks!!

well what do you come up with calorie wise?  i estimate the chicken to be abuot 120cal.  one apple, grapefruil, 2 veggies.  what does that total?

To: ub
ok i have the program guide in front of me with the reccomended serving sizes and calories:
Chicken breat no bone: 87 grams 142 calories
turkey breat white meat only: 87 grams 117 calories
apple raw: 100 grams 41 calories
Grapefriut raw: 120 grams 49 calories (i weighed my grapefriuts and they are double this weight so this actually applies to 1/2 a grapefruit for me)
celery: 60 grams 10 calories
romain lettuce: 130 grams 23 calories
cucumbers: 105 grams 16 calories
tomatoes raw: 170 grams 20 calories
spinach: 170 grams 39 calories

Hi everyone, glad to see everyone is still doing well, today is my 6 day on Dr. S. 4 days of VLCD, and I am down 7.5 pounds! I can't believe the energy I have with eating such little calories, if I attempted to try this on my own I know I would fail. I go to bed late, I am up at like 5 or 6 wondering what to do with myself. I am supposed to skip tomorrow for my shot day but I just don't want to be starving tomorrow, any advice, from other HCG people?

BBoss, I just have to say that my ex is a bodybuilder so I know everything about your world. Let me also say, you probably have not seen the posts from a personal trainer who did this diet as well to get rid of her excess fat that she just couldn't lose and highly recommended it. Could I just say that this forum is for people of like mind who want to encourgage each other, if you are not doing the diet and have nothing to lose than please go over to bodybuilding dot com and hang out their, negativity such as yours is toxic. Glad to hear you have success with your bodybuilding but this is not the place for you.

are you eating 100g of meat?  what does that come to?

by ubflossn, Sep 23, 2007 07:06PM
To: mresearcher
make sure it's skinless to not just boneless.  the site i was looking at listed 100boneless/skinless at about  116 but i don't know.

by scare_d_kat, Sep 23, 2007 07:19PM
To: mresearcher
To be totally honest the only things I measure are the meat/fish to 100g or 3.5 ounces, and I have had green beans which I eat a cup of those. I have had a med tomato, and two handfuls of lettuce today. I am not hunger per se, but would sure like something with some taste!

by mresearcher, Sep 23, 2007 07:42PM
To: ub
yes all the meat i consume is skinless and boneless. i eat the reccomended grams on the portion guide. some of the meats are 100g some are 85 or 87 etc. for example when i cook chicken breast i weigh it out to 87 grams because thats what they reccomend. Some of the meats and fish serving sizes are actually larger than 100 grams. i've just been sticking to their list for portion control.

Scared: if its working for you than great! i just measure out everything just to be sure of the calories im consuming each day

by ubflossn, Sep 23, 2007 07:46PM
To: mresearcher
i'm not sure where you got the list from.  did you get your product from nhw?  i didn't get that.  i only have dr s and kt's books.  both of them state 100g.  i don't know then.  maybe increase a little of the meat if you're under 100g so you get the whole 500cal.  that's so little as it is.  i don't think you want to eat less than that.

by mresearcher, Sep 23, 2007 07:52PM
To: ub
Oh.. i thought you knew yes i went through nhw. they provide a portion guideline for all fruits vegetables and meats so thats what i've been following they reccomend that to get all 500 calories each day we can snack on certain vegetables. Still i eat and eat but usually my day comes to about 320-420 calories.. its weird!

oh and i forgot to mention. im totally stuffed as it is!!!! lol! =)

by Eruaistaniel, Sep 23, 2007 08:40PM
To: mresearcher
girleegirl sent me one of those.  This was my first day trying it.  I got 490 calories.  Pretty close.
I had 120 grams of grapefruit - 49 cal, 50 grams of lemon juice - 13 cal, 100 grams of beef - 141 cal, 130 grams of asparagus - 34 cal, melba toast - 20, 100 grams of chicken - 148 cal, 105 grams of cucumbers - 16 cal, melba toast - 20, 120 grams of grapefruit - 49 cal.

by ubflossn, Sep 23, 2007 08:41PM

so they allow you "free" veggies that you can snack on whenever?  so how much is a grapefruit supposed to weigh?  apple?

Has anyone seen hcgrecipes dot blogspot dot com?  I saw some recipes on there that looked pretty good.  On many of the recipes, not all of the spices called for are listed on the Simeons protocol though.  I don't know whether to try those or not.  What do you all think?  Would a spice not on the protocol hurt?

by mresearcher, Sep 23, 2007 08:58PM
To: ub.eru
Eru: good for you! i count every single calorie too!
Ub: its not really free veggies but they suggest that in order to get the recomended calories keep baggies of perfect portions of celery or carrots around so we wont be tempted to cheat and also to help get the 500 calories. but they also say no eating past 8pm, and im a night owl and thats when i get the most cravings.
Also im not sure how much a grapefruit is supossed to weigh i just know the serving size they sugest is 120 grams. apple: 100grams

by mresearcher, Sep 23, 2007 09:03PM
To: eru
not sure about recipes, i run around so much that i dont have time to do anything but grill, but my only suggestion would be not to trust a blog, youre better off following your dr.s book or kt book for guidelines on spices.
nhw recomends no salt mrs. dash- its not bad..

Dr S. doesn't give measurements of food in Pounds and Inches, I know from past experience that 1cup of veggies is next to nothing in calories. The only measurement he gives is 100g for meat. Yes, I measure the meat exactly and that is before cooking, I don't know if anyone else is using that as the after cooked measurement. The one vegetable I do, 1 cup either tomato, some green beans or cuc, I don't like any of the other vegetables unfortunately. Give me broccoli, I can eat that everyday, but Dr. S. doesn't have it on the list so not taking a chance, the only reason I did the green beans was he lists beets-greens, I have no idea what that means at this point, unless someone esle does.

You doing fantastic from what I read in your results way to go, how many days have you been doing the VLCD?

I would just like some taste, everything tastes the same, that is the hard part, but I am not going to compromise or cheat, I made a commitment to myself and I am sticking with it, but I can tell you that I am longing for day 47!

by mresearcher, Sep 23, 2007 09:14PM
To: scare d
Yes me too! i'm craving something with some flavor! some carbs! some condiments other than spices! Ketchup, Mayo.. all the things i cant wait to eat!

Yes measure everything before cooking. i prefer to measure exactly my vegetables because that way i can keep my food journal and know exactly how many calories i take in. but do whatever works for you.

Today was my day 7, after 6 full days of "war" as lindaloo puts it (lol) im down 10.5 pounds, we'll see what tomarrow brings. Goodluck to you, from what i read your doing amazing too!

Oops!  I just now noticed the "etc" at the end of the list of spices on the protocol.  So, there must be other spices we can have besides the ones specifically mentioned.  Maybe they would be ok.  If anyone is interested, check out hcgrecipes dot blogspot dot com.  Some of them are questionable, but some look ok.

well after 13 days of vlcd (the longest i've ever stuck to a diet mind you) i'm down exactly 13lbs.  and that's having gone thru my period last week too so not bad.  i didn't time this out properly though because unfortunately i'll have another one of those unfortunate weeks before this is over.  still 13 lbs in less than 2 weeks is remarkable for me.

have a great day all!!!

beet-greens are the greens at the top of fresh beets. like carrot tops sort of but on beets.  some people like those but unless they're fried in garlic and olive oil i'm not eatin em!  (oh--those were the days!).  i remember lindaloo had a much larger list of veggies from nhw.  most of them weren't on the original protocol but you guys are doing so great with the weight loss i don't think it matters.  enjoy!!

HEY GUYS!! I haven't check in all weekend but here I am!  Sounds like you all are still doing great and even amazing, yay!!

Mama--Great job on your party (will)power!!

Ok, so I went to the wedding, and yes, I did cheat. I really didn't have the conscience to NOT eat, this was a VERY FANCY four-course/served type of thing and since my hubby was IN the wedding party it would have been noticed if I hadn't eaten this $70/plate meal. Call me moral or stupid, I'm ok with it. I think the reason I felt ok about cheating was that I didnt cheat because I was out of control or having outrageous cravings, so I felt better knowing I could jump right back on the bandwagon the next day (and I did with no probs at all). And I knew from Dr S that it would set me back a few days but this diet is so freakin amazing that I was just ok with that. cuz I know I'm gonna get this weight off no matter what now, and if it adds 3 days to my diet, so be it!

So, the results? Well Sat AM I woke up at 174.2lbs.,..sat pm was the wedding...Sun AM I didn't weigh in because we were at a hotel--this stressed me out cuz I was afraid I'd be at like 180 again! But this morning I weighed in at 174.6...so I am UP 0.4 lbs. I am TOTALLY OK WITH THAT!!!  So my tally now is 12lbs in 14 days.  Even on a traditional healthy low calorie/high exercise diet the avg person loses only 2-3lbs a week so I am A-OK with this!!

I wont tell you guys what I ate because I dont want to tempt anyone but I will tell you, it involved every food group and it was FABULOUS. Even had a margarita!!! The best part...at the end..I had TWO yummy cups of coffee with lots of milk and sugar!!!! YUM!!

So glad to see everybody is still losing!
Your doing great girlee getting right back on track.
Well, this is the start of 19 days on phase 1, I am down 25lbs.
I did not weigh this am.  Yesterday was a test of will power and I lost.  First time I've cheated since the start.  I was so mad at myself.  But, I am back on track today.
I finally have all my supplies to start injections.  I'm going to wait and start the injections in October.
That seems so far away.  That will give me about 5 weeks in phase 1.  I want to have my gorge days on a weekend that my husbands off work so we can go out for something really GOOD!  Not sure what that will be yet.  Right now everything sounds good!    Also, waiting for my daughters monthley friend so we can start together.
Hope everyone has a great and losing week!

25lbs sounds like a lot for phase 1.  I am sure the lose will slow down by the time I get to phase 2.
I am very overweight.  I think the more overweight you are the faster you lose in the begining.
That being said I have never lost that much in such a short time. So I am excited and looking forward to the injections.  I can't wait to be less than 200

Ok so I only lost .2 lbs yesterday but that's okay. I'm feeling good and people are saying how
"skinny" I'm looking. Hardly skinny yet but it feels so good!!! Man the hardest thing for me is social eating!!! Everyone wants to go out..after church, after class, just meet up, lunch at work, etc. I haven't done it, but that is the hardest part for me. I just always have my lunch with me so I have to eat it!!! :) I like the food though.. :)

To: Kerroline
You are on the right path... staying away from those situations is the best. It'll make you miss it all the more. I do miss the social thing big time; I went for coffee weekly with girlfriends so I gave coffee up, so I wouldn't have to explain what I was doing. It was easier to give up a daily thing like my coffee, that I drank everyday for the past 12 years. Go figure!

Being prepared and having those foods ready to go is really key to your success. I learned that quickly from lindaloo, I was caught off guard the first day and got to starve all day because I didn't pack my food ahead of time. Won't happen again that's for sure!

You’re off to a great start! Remember the pounds lost also won't reflect all the inches your losing!

bad news........somehow i actually gained 1.8lbs.  yesterday i had some trouble with low BP and i really layed the sea salt on thick so i'm sure it's just fluid.  still that's a heck of a gain considering the food we eat.  that sounds like the old me with crazy fluctuations.  hope today sets it right.

well by the looks of things i won't be having any of that anytime soon!!!  what a bummer of a set back this morning at weigh in.  i'm sure it's just water retention though so i'm not going to get real bent out of shape but still.  i even increased my water to over a gallon to compensate for the sodium but i guess it didn't help.  (sad face!!)

Hi,

Quick note on this before I fly out the door... I was just reading about this in KT's book last night in the "Frequently Asked Ques" section and there was a comment about wt. loss (as seen on the scale) slowed down due to salt, mainly on a day when you change the amount you normally use. There was a reminder that if the scale is the same or even up, that this does not mean that there is not fat loss going on. I have low blood pressure, too, and sometimes need the extra salt since I rarely eat fast foods or processed foods...  Would it help today if you were to check a body measurement? knowing that you will find inch loss here indicating more weight loss (I am very optimistic for you :)

Take care,

Mary

thanks mary!  i have measured my waist this am and i have lost a total of 2" there which is great!  i'm sure it's fluid retention and i'm sure it will level out.  i feel good though and my cloths are going in the trash one large piece at a time so it's all good!  here's to tomorrow's weigh in.......

Glad to have you in our hcg LOSERS blog.
I ordered my hcg from drugdelivery . ca it took about 25 days.  However, some folks on this forum got it a lot faster.  My supplies came from hcgsupplies . com
A lot of people here are ordering everything from Native Healing Ways.
I too started with phase 1 of KT's book.  However, I am not doing all 60 things he suggest.
This is day 20 for me and I am down 25lbs.  When I start phase 2 I will be following Dr. Simeons Proctocol instead of KT's.  They are much alike.
Spinach is a very versitle food which can be eaten raw, steamed, etc. has great nutitional value.
Good Luck

Thanx Graciegirl.   25 lbs is awesome.  I walk an hour a day, eat huge amounts of salads and fruits.  (at least for me.  I usually dine at the nearest fast food place).I have lost maybe 8 lbs. in three weeks.  I need alot of help.  my wife and kids eat so much **** and it is very tempting.  Do you eat the organic foods or just store bought things like chicken?

Hello everyone!

I've been reading this thread and the one this branched off from so I feel like I know you guys already!

It's great to hear about all your successes, thank you for sharing.

I have a lot of questions, but most of them flew out of my head the minute I started typing. These are what I remember:

Are you using those thin hairdresser gloves to condition your hair to avoid getting oil on them? If so, is the powder inside to keep them from sticking ok for the diet?

What about the no face cream thing? How is that going? I can't imagine how wrinkly my under eye area would get without cream - not to mention the rest of my face! Also, how is your body skin? I use lotion all over daily now and when I miss a day it's not pretty.

Right now I use Wellbutrin and don't foresee discontinuing it any time soon, anyone else 'cheating' with meds?

I also take a low dose oral antiboitic, a topical antiboitic and use retin A to control cystic acne. I've tried to stop using these several times but always get horrible breakouts when I do. Any ideas as to how the hCG affects acne?

Oh, this is probably the most important question! How is your skin responding in regards to tightening after weight loss? Like Graciegirl2, just substituting all organic will allow me to lose all the weight I need to, but I've had four children and I get a 'butt-stomach' when I get skinny enough to make me happy. Even with the extra pounds I'm carrying, it still droops when I bend over; even if I'm sucking in. I was actually researching tummy tucks but they sound so awful (not to mention expensive - still gotta feed those kids, you know) I really don't want to go that route. So, if anyone has similar circumstances, I'd love to know if the hCG helps. Please don't tell me I need to stregthen my abs, I've already done that and can feel firm muscle under my fat layer.

If you lose all the weight you want, can you just stop using it, or do you have to finish the cycle?

Lindaloo and Larry mentioned feeling unwell. Is it bad enought to keep you from doing your daily activities? My youngest, five, is autistic so I need to be able to care for her.

How do you get the courage to give yourself a shot???

Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer these questions, I eagerly await your input!

Lisa

PS There's no spellcheck!!!!

ALL ORGANIC.  I am almost following phase 2 in my diet just not as strict.
I do eat 2 apples and 1-2 grapefruits every day.  I measure my meat in 100 gram portions.
For breakfast I have 1 organic egg fried in coconut oil with sea salt and black pepper on 1 slice of
toasted ezikel bread (flourless sprouted grain bread) it's really good. I mix all my teas together and drink throughout the day.  I also drink 3/4 to 1 gallon of reverse osmosis water daily.
I have not started started my walking routine yet.  So far I'm only walking about twice a week for 45mins.  I love the outdoors and walking but time does not allow right now.
Weekends are tough.  My husband and I always get together with friends and grill out. So I take my little 100 gram serving of meat and a veggie and eat slow so I fit in with everybody else.  That part is starting to get easier.  Desert is my weakness.

The 25lbs I have lost has come off all over not in one place. Not a problem with skin yet. Anyone can lose on vlcd but the Hcg along with eating organicly should help you lose in the abnormal fat areas according to Dr.simeons protocol.  I have not started the injections yet but well soon.  A lot of others here are having great success with losing problem fat areas while on hcg.  I have a lot of energy on this vlcd.
Good Luck

hey guys....bad morning for you...dont fret, you guys are doing AWESOME!  Your results are already amazing, above and beyond what any "normal" diet would do!

I am down 1/2 lb this morning, and even got my period yesterday.  So, with my little setback this weekend, I am officially down 12.6 lbs in 15 days. So see, you guys are doing great, and I am good motivation to not cheat!!  (although I admit I totally still dont regret it!!)

welcome!!! glad you guys are joining us, this is a great forum with lots of motivational people, and as you can see, we are all getting great results!

I dont  use organic stuff, maybe the fruits if they're on sale. I basically do chicken, veggies, apple, and the "bread" (melba toast or grissini) each meal. I just change up the veggie and the bread. Have steak once a week.

I dont use conditioner, I use a super super thin layer of lotion on my face, just around my mouth area becaause it gets tight. I dont use special soaps or anything. I haven't done any of the things KT states in his book as far as colonics and all that. Some of the other people have done lots of those things and are getting great results in Phase 1 with them. I have lost appx 1 lb a day since I started, I cheated one day becuase I kinda had to, but this diet WILL WORK if you follow it religiously.

Good luck!

I will tell you my face has cleared up and is naturally moist without any help (except around my mouth area)--not sure if your acne stuff is RX but if its OPTIONAL that you use it maybe you can try NOT using it at first...it is a cream, right?  I've had 5 kids (3 c sections) so I know the butt-stomach (hilarious)--not sure of your history with exercise but cardio will really help with that...people think crunches and all that is the key but if you dont have cardio then you are just gonna look FATTTER because your muscle will be strengthening under the layers of fat...only cardio will get rid of fat (pretty much)---I say lose the weight, see how great you feel, and you will proalby WANT to exercise that pooch off and not have any probs....I never felt sick on the shots, just hungry (starving) the first week. Like the first 4 or 5 days. There really are no sypmtoms, I feel great, more energetic, even feel better mentally. Weird. I wouldnt stop the Wellbutrin, as you know there are probs with stopping meds like that cold turkey.  Shots are easy, no courage, just point and shoot. It really doesnt hurt. You'll do great!

O.k weigh in today was down 1.2 pounds which was nice since the scale didn't move yesterday! :(  So I'm at 12.7 pounds after 10 days of the diet. I'm seeing my Dr. today and showing her my food journal and all that good stuff going to ask about the low BP and make sure it's all good otherwise. We can do this! Remember that as your putting on those pants and shirts you couldn't wear 2 weeks ago this is really astounding!

Girlee: I really wanted to be naughty, but I was wearing jeans I hadn't fit into for a while and that was motivating!

Hi,
I tried Hcg 1x a week with low cal diet and I did not do well with that, felt so disappointed, ate too much/wrong foods, wasted a month, etc., BUT starting this Friday I will be following Dr. S's plan and getting HCG daily.  I am optimistic and excited and scared and I pray and hope that this will work, I've got a  lot to lose.  I have been reading all of the posts for encouragement and comfort as I try to prepare myself to go to war on Friday.  My clinic felt that the low cal/1shot a week should work, they thought Dr S was a bit restrictive, but I told them that I had to try Dr. S b/c the other plan was not working, and they are behind me now. I am taking this week to read and reread the manual so that I will be ready on Friday.  You all do not know how much it helps to read these posts with people doing so well, I try to check in at least once a day for encouragement.  I have been so nervous that I would be too hungry on 500 cal. and that I will fail-again.  LEarning more about HCG has helped to calm me some and reading the experiences posted here.

I do have a questions though--Is anyone here on birth control and they are skipping their period?  If so, how does it effect you?  I started HCg on 8/31/07, should have gotten my period on 8/29/07, chose to skip it due to possibility of increased cramping/side effects with HCG, and started new birth control on 9/5/07.  I have had some cramping and breakthrough bleeding, and wondered should I just let aunt flo come this month, but that would prevent me from starting HCG this Friday.  ANyway, any experiences/feedback would be great.

Also, is anyone using the oral HCG?  If so, how is it working, how much do you take, how much are you losing?  I would like to use it, but my clinic did not feel that it would work, due to the small amount given under tongue.

Sorry to write a book, thanks in advance.

I just received my KT book The Weight Loss Cure yesterday.  I've been reading it off and on today.
Question:  How would you inject HCG?  I've never injected anything on myself EVER!  Would it be best for me to find a clinic?

If so, does anyone know of any clinics located in Houston, TX?

I definately think you are on the right path!! Every day shots are so helpful. Yes you are gonna be hungry but only for the first few days...now on a 500 cal diet, I am "satisfied" before I am even done with meals. Really. I dont understand the once a week shots because supposedly hcg only stays in your system for 72 hours anyway, you must've been starving on that shot plan!

I started my period yesterday but I am still taking my shots. Dr S only said to NOT do the shots because it causes more blood flow, so out of preference, I am more willing to deal with increased blood flow rather than increased hunger! The hcg really curbs the appetite for whatever reason.

Hi there!  I think you meant to write back to sthrnbelle.  :)  Do you go to a clinic/dr. that gives you daily injections?  I wouldn't know how to give myself an injection.  I'm running to Whole Foods right now to stock up on some items so that I can start Phase 1 by Friday.  I need to read the book fully before starting, but I figured I'd better start locating info on these HCG injections and how to find a doctor/clinic.  I love this place!!  I can tell it's going to help me out tremendously!

I ordered mine from a company called native healing ways and got it in a day. you can find them online. I give my own injections, its really not hard, you'll be fine I promise, just do the first one and after that its a piece of cake.

I didnt really bother much with KT book and I didnt do Phase 1....I've skimmed through his book and taken pointers but I subscribe 100% to Dr. Simeons manuscript (which KT does tell you to do as Phase 2).  I'm losing weight fine going strictly by Dr. S. Have you read it? Its fascinating. I found KT to be kind of redundant.
