heads up on hcg

by eibbit, Aug 11, 2007 09:38PM
Just wanted to give a heads up for you guys. I was looking into getting hcg shots and I was told my doctor that if your more than 10 lbs over weight  that they  can make you more bulkier. Hcg is great for people who only have a small amount of weight to lose since it helps their muscles become more lean which burns the fat. He also told me that women should be more careful since he has seen more female patient complain about side effects. I’m not sure which ones since hcg is not an option for me at this time. Not sure if his on the money or not but thought I’d let you know.

I weighed 150 when I started my hcg shots. I am 5'3 and have a small frame. I have finnished the shots weighing 105#.  I completed the final phase where the only restriction is no sugar and no starch. I now weigh 107# and it hasn't budged. I also have a 22" waist, nice muscles but I am in now way bulky. I just thought I'd share my experience with you. Good luck.

Thank you for the positive twist I appreciate it!
People who have never struggled with a weight issue have no idea what it is like and how hard it is to "just cut down and exercise" as several posts have written.
For me, at his point I need to have hope this will help for me , I can't listen to the negative comments.
I am being monitored by a Dr so any problems will be caught.

I am so happy for you! keep up the good work and giving hope to the rest of us.
I will hopefully begin later this week with the protocol.

Please read my post on HCG and Bontril.  Your name is nursetobe so I am assuming that you are in school.  I am in the RN program and working full time with two kids which has definitely worn me down.  (two more semesters to go YEAH!!!)  I am new to the HCG and appetite suppressants and just started Friday but have already seen results as you will read in my post.  You can email me if you would like to talk further.     email is ***@****

I'm glad to know that the shots have worked for you. I'm thinking about starting them when I lose a little more weight. I feel that I have about 40 lbs. to lose. So maybe when I cut that in half. I have wide hips and  my thighs are on the thicker side so I’m a little afraid to do the shots and bulk up. I believe that I will be able to catch  it (if it happens) when I’ve gotten a little weight off. I’m also trying to let my body get somewhat back to normal after having my son.

I am 5'3 and I am have been taking the shots for three weeks.  I am not losing the weight and have mostly lost inches.  I am exercising on a regular basis, so I have to be failing on the diet part.   Can you tell me what you ate and how strictly did you follow the diet?

To eibbit -I worked out pretty hard and I did not bulk up in anyway. It is very hard for women to bulk up. I did notice a drastic shape change in my body. I use to carry my weight on my thighs mostly and some on my hips. I lost weight everywhere but especially on those 2 problem areas and the weight hasn't come back.
To dekiel - I followed the diet in the book to the T!  No cheating!  I was honestly too excited by the consistent loss of weight and inches. The diet is in KT's book and it's the same in Dr. Simmeons' manuscript.  I don't eat red meat, so just fish - wild caught, and organic chicken (100 grams weighed NO FAT) also the organic veggies listed and the 2 organic apples. I hope this helps!
