by siren of the sea, Oct 14, 2006 12:00AM
hi everyone, my first time to this forum. my husband is in the navy and has a weigh in on tuesday. he has to either lose 12 pounds or 1-2 inches in waist.  i know this isnt the best or ideal way to do it but its a necessity! any ideas? i found a diet that you lose 10lbs in 3 days with certain foods that creat a "chemical breakdown". has anyone tried this? do the vit B12 disolving tabs help? any help would be GREATLY appreciated. and yes i know its not the way to do it so just help would be helpful  thanks

hi...u know i tried doing that diet 2 weeks ago.  i ate everything on there, but didn't lose anything i don't know what i did wrong.  Have u heard of beyonce's diet?  i just read it on another forum and i actually google it myself.  u can lose up to 20 lbs in a week or 2 i think...just look it up as beyonce's diet on google and it will give u all the information.  I'm currently doing mesotherapy which helped me lose 20 lbs. in a month my goal is 50 so i got more to go.  well goodluck!!!!!

You absolutely CANNOT lose that much weight that fast in any sort of healthy manner.  If he stops eating altogether or takes pills to lose water or anything else crazy he will either end up in the hospital or the morgue.  B-12 will not help you lose weight.  If your husband is in the Military, have him see the base minister and ask for help.  He can get an "mental/emotional leave of absence" effective immediately. He can get up to two weeks paid medical leave for this. He won't have to weigh in until after his emergency leave. This will give him some extra time to do something about this weight.  Most bases have a center for nutrition/weight control.  He can sit down with them and see what can be done in a short period of time in a healthy manner. If you are looking for an inch or so, try that cereal diet that guarantees that you can lose a "dress size" in two weeks. He should be able to take off an inch or two on that.  good luck

There is the banana diet that I haven't done for over 25 years but the idea is to eat 6 banana's a day do not drink alot of water as this diet you loose mostly water but my girlfriend used to go on it all the time when a special occasion would come up and she wanted to fit into a special dress.  there is also a liquid diet out there, I think the california diet.  Good luck.  Shows even men are human and let things ride till the last minute.

Hey, I know it's wayyy past your date and everything. I'm joining the navy, and I have to lose 6-10 pounds in 4 days. Sucks. But, I read up there he had to lose 12 pounds or 1-2 inches in waist size. I'm suprised nobody in the navy told you the trick to lose that 1-2 inches in your waist. Preperation H. No kidding. You put it all over your stomach, and it retracts the muscles and such. Taking away about an inch or 2 maybe more. ;) For future reference if he has to lose weight again. Hope it all worked out fine.

when my son had to weigh in for wrestling they would run the track wearing garbage bags.  Literally.  High school boys running track in black garbage bags. what a site that was, but it worked.  they gained it back the next day, of course.

i have tried the diet lose 10 lbs in 3 days and it worked you just have to be very carfull of what you eat afterward, because you lose it so fast you can gain it back even faster. all i eat now is green veggies and protien and about 15once of chocolate a day. i lost 25lbs in 1 month. i only eat this way because i dont really have the time to ecercise but if u do i should. p.s i do take vitamin pills

If your stationed in va. he could go to south hampton health services. They have a diet and will give him a water pill and food supressant and he will lose weight if he follows the plan quickly for example 10 pounds in a week . I did this after my pregnancy while in the navy and it worked great. I would do it in a heartbeat if I lived their in va. He will also get a b-12 every week. It really is a great diet but you have to be in VA because they will not work with you if your from another state. He has to be seen weekly and this is not covered by health insurance but it is worth every penny.
