not sure what it is

by GypsyA, Feb 17, 2007 12:00AM
I have for several weeks had fatigue, and now have lost weight but my appetite has not been so good, and I stay cold.  I take topamax and also Synthroid, plus I work almost 10 hr days 4 days a week...so between long hours, stress at work that could be problem.  My hair has gotten thinner, seems a lot near the front hairline, skin dry but no itching.  Also no symptoms of rashes, glands never have been swollen, PAP smears always normal, not temperature, no night sweats,no thrush, no constant diarrhea,  so it seems like fatigue, hair thinning, cold, brittle/dry hair are my main symptoms.  Poor eating habits??  stress???  thyroid??

I'm pretty sure your two meds explain it all. My husband takes synthroid for thyroid problems and he has problems with being cold a lot. I don't know if its the condition or the medication. And I take Topomax (topamax) for a seizure disorder, and its very common to have hair loss when you take it. Its also common to have weight loss. Some people report quite remarkable weight loss in fact. Hope everything works out OK for you, good luck.

thanks for the reply back...I'm going to an internal medicine doctor on this next Wed just to be sure whats happening.  Being in the med field for 100 years my med mind is working overtime over this which isn't helping matters am sure.  You go to health sites and put in symptoms and omg what all comes up ...jeeze hiv/aids, tumors, adrenal gland problems.  Am glad I found this site to be able to talk to others, so thank you sooooo much

It sounds like your thyroid is off. Those are the sytoms for thyroid problems. If you have been suffering with constipation too then that is a sign too. Good luck
